You and Gabe have been friends ever since you and your brothers first ran into the Trickster. Sam and Dean had been at each others throats due to some of his tricks, which was irritating you. You had one sole task - find whatever was killing people on campus and kill it. They were too busy fighting with each other to focus on the hunt.

Irritated, you had left the motel room close to tears at them fighting. Truthfully, you were scared that Sam would leave again, that the trio you guys formed was falling apart. You went for a walk and ran into the 'janitor' who turned out to be the Trickster, who then turned out to be the archangel Gabriel.

He had starting talking to you and soon you were laughing and forgetting your problems.

Ever since that time, you were fast friends with the archangel. Even when he 'died', you knew that he wasn't actually dead. He had kept in touch everyday, but made you swear that you wouldn't tell your brothers.

So you didn't.

You kept it a secret and kept meeting up with Gabe whenever you could get away.

But then it stopped.

Gabriel stopped showing up for your meetings.

You prayed, trying to get his attention, but there was never an answer. Gabriel was gone. You didn't know if he abandoned you, or if he was dead.

Sam and Dean had no idea why your mood changed. You went from happy to absolutely miserable in the span of a few weeks.

They tried to find out what was bugging you, but you didn't tell them about him still being alive because you promised. And you always keep your promises.

And now here you are, coming back to the bunker with your bros. You enter first, Sam and Dean close behind you.

Sam questions Dean, "You sure you're alright?"

"Considering I was about three seconds away from an inter-dimensional booty-call, yeah, I'd say I'm alright," Dean answers as they walk down the stairs.

"Well, we have the seal," Sam states.

"Yup," you say, standing by the table as Sam shows off the necklace.

"So all we need now is an Archangel and we're set," Sam continues.

"Sure, that sounds easy," Dean says with his usual sarcasm.

Out of the corner of your eye, you spot him. Arthur Ketch walking out of the bunker's shadows. Each Winchester reacts instantly in the same manner, drawing weapons and pointing it at the intruder.

"Wait," Ketch says, raising his hands.

Dean curses, gun raised.

"I come in peace."

You sneer at him, "Yeah, right."

"And," he reaches back into the shadows, "I brought you a gift."

He drags something into the light.

Your heart leaps to your throat.

Not something, but someone.

It's Gabriel, although he looks unrecognizable.

"Wait a second, is that-?" Sam starts to ask before you interrupt.

"Gabriel!" You dash up to them, ignoring the threat that Ketch poses. Reaching his side you carefully help him sit in the nearest chair, glaring at Ketch as he roughly assists.

Once Gabe is seated carefully, you assess his injury as your brothers talk.

"It can't be he's dead," Sam stutters.

"Or is he?"

You turn on Arthur, refraining from shooting him in his smug face, "What did you do to him!?"

"Not me, Asmodeus. The prince was holding him prisoner until I liberated the poor man. And, I understand you may need an archangel for a spell perhaps," he gages your brothers' expressions. "What luck."

"We need his grace," Sam states.

At his statement, Gabriel starts to freak out, yelling through his sewn-shut mouth and shaking.

"Calm down, calm down," Ketch instructs him, lacing his arms on him to keep him in the chair before standing up straight again.

Your heart breaks at the sight of the archangel in such a weak state. Placing your arms around him carefully, you embrace him, tears starting to fall from your eyes. He relaxes in your arms.

Ketch reaches into his pocket and produces a small vial of grace, placing it on the table as well as an angel blade, "Here, take these."

"What's the catch? What do you want?"

"Protection from Asmodeus."

"The one you're working for."

"Was working for. But when he finds out I stole his prized milk cow he'll hunt me to the ends of the earth. So, this is the only safe place I know."

"You think you're just gonna move in?"

"Dibs on the top bunk?"

"No," Sam says.

"Deal," Dean says.

"What?"

"I don't know what the hell is going on here, but if this helps us get mom back, helps us get Jack back, then sure, whatever you want," Dean explains to Sam.

Your focus is on Gabe. His eyes are so haunted. They contain so much pain and fear that even glancing at them is like stabbing yourself in the heart.

"Gabe," you whisper to him, "I'm so sorry. I had no idea. . ."

Swiftly, you get the first aid and start to dress his wounds. You try to be as gentle as possible as you take the stitches out of his lips.

And, thus begins the long road to his recovery.

He didn't speak for a long time, but when he did, he spoke to you.

"I missed you," he whispered as you sat beside him.

Upon hearing his voice, you smiled, "Gabe!"

He offered a small smile, "I didn't mean to stand you up."

Tears rolled down your cheeks as you chuckled, "I know. I'm so sorry. . . I couldn't find you. I prayed, and I looked in all the usual spots, but you weren't there. I thought you abandoned me. . . I should've looked harder! It's all my fault."

"No, it's not your fault! Don't you ever say that, Y/n," he consoled. "I have to tell you something."

"What is it?"

"All the time I was away, I couldn't get you out of my mind."

"I couldn't get you out of mine," you laughed, wiping away a tear.

He smiled again, "And I thought about the one thing I never told you."

"What was it?"

He took your hand in his, "I love you, Y/n. I love you so much, and I never want to loose you again."

"I love you too Gabriel, and I won't ever leave you. I love you so much."
