Silence taunts your ears as you listen for any hint of a threat. Your brothers finally let you go on a hunt all by yourself, so you are determined to not let them down.

You're well-trained and well-prepared for anything.

At least, you thought you were. Right now, you're beginning to question if you should've been so persistent in insisting to go alone on this one.

You killed the vampire duo that was responsible for killing many people in this small town, but now a new threat has appeared in the very frightening form of a dragon.

Sam and Dean told you about the dragons that they faced before, and the story scared you. Apparently dragons can only be killed by a special sword forged from the blood of a dragon. Unfortunately, you don't have a sword of that kind.

Cursing under your breath, you adjust your grip on your machete. Flames scorch the air around you as you cower against the wall. Apparently dragons have a thing for gold and virgins. You just happen to be one of the latter which is why this monster is after you.

"Frick," you growl, preparing to fight with all your might.

Before you can attack the dragon, you watch in apt fascination as a blade is run through the monster's belly. You shield your face as the dragon erupts in flames and turns to ashes.

You breathe out in relief before searching for your rescuer.

"Hello, darling." A familiar Scottish - or is it British? - accent rings out amidst the silence.

You sigh and turn to face Crowley. He wears a cocky grin and holds an old sword and a scotch in his other hand.

"Hey Crowley." You say before dusting yourself off.

"What, no 'thank you'? I did just save your life."

"I was handling it," you growl.

He scoffs, "If you call cowering and almost being kidnapped by the beast 'handling it', then you were doing an excellent job."

You don't even respond, your eyes watering in part from the smoke caused by the dragon and in part from the embarrassment at failing your first solo hunt. Of course, it was only supposed to be two vampires and not a freaking dragon, but still.

He notices your watering eyes, "Hey, it's alright. I mean you acted bravely and you did behead those vamps excellently. How were you to know that a dragon was hunting in these parts too?"

You sniffle, "I still should've been prepared! I almost died because I was unprepared. Dad would be so pissed at me right now! Sam and Dean too!"

Groaning, you go back to the wall and sink down with your back against the wall. "I just can't do anything right!"

"I don't want to hear any of that. Who helped kill the demon that killed your mother? Who helped stop the apocalypse? Who stopped the Leviathans? And Metatron?"

At your silence he answers himself, "You did! So don't ever go saying that you can't do anything, because you do more than enough!"

He stretches a hand towards you and helps you stand again, "So, you're going go back to Moose and Squirrel and proudly tell them that you killed two vampires and, with some assistance, took care of a dragon."

You smile a bit, "Thanks Crowley, for saving my life and all."

"No problem, dear," he offers you a drink of scotch and you gratefully accept. You take a sip and then hand it back to him.

"How'd you know where I was?" You question as you walk towards your car.

He shrugs, "I keep an eye on you. Think of me as your guardian angel...or devil if you will."

You laugh, "Thanks again, O Guardian."

He smirks and vanishes as you drive away. When you get back to your brothers you tell them all about how you killed the vampires with ease. When you get to the dragon part, you play down the danger and explain how you had a little help.

They bombard you with questions and you answer. When they learn that Crowley saved you, they are not happy. You convince them to relax, and they eventually calm down.

That night, you fondly think of your unlikely hero.
