"Jack!" You call out to him as he runs out of the motel room.
Fixing a fierce glare upon your brothers, you shake your head, "I hope you're happy!"
"What did I do?!" Dean asks, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
"You know what you did!"
"I-"
"You admitted that you don't like him. And said that you'd kill him, and said that you can hardly look at him! You're alienating him!" You yell, sick of Dean's poor attitude towards the half-angel.
Before Dean can speak anymore, you are out of the room, door slamming behind you. You try to think of where Jack would go, and end up walking down an alleyway.
You find him sitting against the wall beside a large garbage bin with his head buried by his arms. Rain lightly falls as you make your way to his side.
"Jack..."
He doesn't look up, but he doesn't tell you to leave either. So, you sit next to him in silence for a few minutes.
"Don't listen to Dean, he's just... Well, there's really no excuse I can think of." You say quietly, watching the raindrops splatter on the concrete.
He looks up at you, "He hates me, Y/n."
"I'm sure he doesn't. He just...he needs time." You sigh heavily, "He's prejudiced. He doesn't think that you can break free of your biological father's evilness."
"Do you think I can?"
Your eyes meet his, "Yes, of course. You're nothing like him, which is a great thing, trust me."
"What can I do to show Dean that I'm good?" He looks at you, his face showing desperation and despair.
You wrap your arm around him, "Jack, sometimes you can't change peoples minds. It's better to just try being the very best you can be. But, don't forget that everyone makes mistakes. Crap's gonna happen and sometimes bad choices are made. We just gotta get over it."
You let that sink in as the rain dribbles down your face.
He leans against you, "Do you think I'm. . .evil?"
"No!" You look at him in shock, "Jack, you're not evil."
He looks away, but you keep your grip on his shoulder tight.
"If your mom were here, she'd tell you the same thing, Jack. She loved you so much, and it isn't fair that you didn't get a life with her..."
He whispers something but you don't quite catch it.
"What?" You ask softly.
He fixes his tear-stained gaze upon you, "I killed her. Y/n, she'd still be alive if it weren't for me."
"Jack! Don't ever say that! She knew it was gonna happen, but she loved you so much that it didn't matter. Her only regret was not being able to help you through all this. Please don't think that," you hug him as the rain falls.
He cries unashamedly and you let him.
"I'm scared, Y/n," he mumbles into your shoulder.
"You don't have to be, Jack. I'll always be here for you, okay? It's alright."
He lets the words comfort him, just as your presence does. He may not have the best understanding of emotions, but he knows that he loves being around you. You make him feel safe and happy.
He never wants those moments to end.
Neither do you.
