{80} Castiel

You bit your lip to keep from screaming as blood trickled down your arm. It wasn't anything new. It was just another cut of many before it and many to come after it. You were strapped to a table, with your only coverage for your body being the leather straps that bound you.

A man stood in front of you with a table of tools that he was using to torture you. Was he just a man though? It was impossible. You had dealt with your fair share of creatures to know that whatever was torturing you was something supernatural. He chuckled deeply, letting you know that he was enjoying this, making you sick to your stomach.

"The sooner you're willing to give me the information I want, the sooner this will all be over," the man stated, twisting the knife he had just picked up between his fingers. You didn't know what information he wanted. You didn't bother to ask.

You knew that if you were getting tortured for information, it had something to do with someone you cared about and you weren't going to be the one that ends up getting them hurt. So, no matter what, you kept your lips sealed. Despite the pain, you were in.

He spent another hour torturing you, cutting away at anything he could. You still weren't talking so he put down his knife. "You're making a big mistake you know," you stated - the first words you had said since you got kidnapped. "And why's that?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest in an amused way.

"Do you know who my brothers are?" you replied with a small smirk. "Ah, yes - the glorified Winchesters. Even on their best day, they're no match for me. Besides, they aren't the ones I'm after," the man replied.

You looked at him confused trying to figure out who he was going after then and he noticed. "Now that got your interest, huh?" he asked, his smirk turning into a smile. "Do you want to know who it is I'm looking for?" he questioned, walking so that he was now towering over you. You wanted to know but your pride got in your way as you looked away from the man instead, not giving him any satisfaction in this situation.

He laughed at your actions and said, "I'll tell you anyway. It's that traitor, your pet angel - Castiel." Your heart began to race at the mention of his name. "Well, then you're out of luck because he's definitely not coming for me. We haven't seen him in a couple of weeks," you replied.

"He'll come," the man told you confidently. "What makes you so sure?" you questioned, hoping that he was wrong. "Because you're his soulmate," the man responded. You became lightheaded at his words, unable to react as you tried to process what he was saying.

You were Sam's twin sister and when Dean went to hell, you searched high and low for a way to get him back, but nothing worked. You took his death extremely hard because while you and Sam were twins, Dean was your role model.

You tried to do everything like him. You wore the same clothes that he wore, listened to the same music that he listened to, and even tried to eat the same things that he did - to an extent. He found it adorable how much you admired him. He loved being the one you looked up to. So when he died there was no question that you would do everything in your power to bring him back.

But, you soon ran out of options to try. You were drinking beers every night in Dean's memory, feeling like you had failed your big brother. You were extremely drunk one night when Dean knocked on your door, mysteriously back from Hell.

You laughed when you saw him and he immediately took in your appearance - you looked wrecked. "Of course I would be imagining you here. I must be drunker than I thought," you told him, stumbling to walk back inside. Dean followed you inside and said, "I'm here." "Right, well, you must be a demon then. Listen, if you're going to kill me go ahead, but I'm having another beer first," you responded.

Dean cut you off from drinking anymore and you collapsed on the couch. The next morning, you woke up and Dean was there making you breakfast. After making sure he wasn't a monster, you cried tears of happiness and hugged him tightly, happy to have your brother back.

However, something was suspicious with the way Dean was back, so you, he, and Bobby all investigated who or what could have brought him back. You finally were able to summon the creature and that was the first time you met Castiel - an angel of the Lord.

Ever since that moment, you had been intrigued with Castiel. You wanted to know everything and he loved telling you his stories. Whenever Sam and Dean were asleep, you would pray to Castiel and he would always come and sit with you, talking about random things until you were asleep too.

You and Castiel grew closer and you began developing feelings for him which was absolutely ridiculous considering he was a celestial being that had no emotions. But, part of you didn't care about that. You loved everything about Castiel and you just hoped that one day he would feel the same way about you. You were still waiting for that day to come.

You had heard lore that angels all had one soulmate on Earth who was human. The angel would randomly stumble upon their soulmate and they would glow a certain color that only angels could see that would let them know you were their soulmate.

You felt a blush rise to your cheeks at the thought of being Castiel's soulmate. He had to have known this whole time. But if that's the case then how does he feel about you? And how did this man know that you were Castiel's soulmate?

"I'm sure by this point you've figured out that I'm an angel too," the man suddenly said, drawing you from your thoughts. You looked at him in response and nodded your head. "I've got to be honest with you, torturing you was just me having fun. I can just take the information I need," he stated, placing his hand on your head.

You felt a sharp pain in your head, followed by a dull headache as you could almost feel the angel surfing your brain waves looking for anything that may be important to him. Unfortunately, since it was your brain, you had to go along for the ride.

The first memory he looked at was in Lincoln, Nebraska. You were standing outside an old farmhouse, covered in blood with a machete in your hand. Castiel suddenly appeared behind you and asked, "Are you hurt?" You turned around to face him and shook your head no. "Sam and Dean asked me to come find out where you were," he informed you.

"I took out the vamp nest," you explained. "You took out an entire nest by yourself?" Castiel asked, surprise lacing his tone as he raised his eyebrows, seeming impressed. You shrugged your shoulders and said, "It was nothing."

Castiel couldn't help but have a small smile on his face at your words as he placed two fingers on your forehead, transporting you back to the motel where Sam and Dean were waiting. When they saw your bloody appearance they both gave you bitch faces and you looked at Cas and asked, "You couldn't have let me change first?"

He just smirked and flew away as your brothers began their speech of how you needed to be more careful, and how if they lost you they didn't know what they would do.

-

The next memory was of you and Castiel sitting at a bar while Dean and Sam played pool. You were eating a hamburger and asked Castiel if he wanted anything to which he replied everything tasted like molecules to him.

Dean and Sam then came up to the table and said, "Come on, guys, let's play." You agreed and dragged Castiel with you, teaching him how to play pool. You won all of the games you played with your brothers and Castiel, but he had fun anyway, enjoying the time he got with you guys.

-

Then, you and Castiel were in the middle of an amusement park with Sam and Dean running around like children. It was one of the first weeks after Castiel had lost his grace and you decided to show him how to have some fun, the human way.

You took him on all sorts of rides and made him try cotton candy and ice cream. He had a large smile on his face and your heart couldn't help but melt when you saw that look. He was having fun - real fun - for the first time in his whole life.

-

The last memory took place a few weeks later, but it was not with Castiel. You stood in your small hotel room, scared as Metatron appeared in front of you. He had been talking about Castiel for five minutes. He blamed you for corrupting Cas and told you that you were the reason he was weak now.

He then turned the topic into a discussion of books. "Have you ever read Don Quixote?" he asked. You shook your head no in response. "You might want to check it out."

-

You took in a large gasp as you returned to your reality, taking in your surroundings. The angel smirked and said, "Thank you for your cooperation. I now know where Castiel's grace is, he will forever be just a shell of the celestial being he once was."

You felt your heart break at his words, thinking you had let down Cas the same way you let down Dean when you couldn't find a way to bring him back from Hell. Castiel wasn't doing so good without his grace, he needed it back. He had been feeding off of other angel's grace, but he needed his own to restore his body back to its former glory.

"Well, I guess there's nothing left to do but to kill you," the angel said, picking up the knife that he had earlier. "I was going to let you live, but I can't resist seeing Castiel's face when he sees you dead," the angel told you.

Suddenly, the angel screamed in pain as he began to erupt into a bright light. You closed your eyes and turned your head, attempting to block some of the brightness. When it finally went away, you looked to see Castiel standing there with an angel blade in his hand and the body of your captor dead on the floor.

You breathed a sigh of relief as Castiel undid the leather straps that kept you tied down. He then used some of his borrowed grace to heal your wounds before taking off his trenchcoat and handing it to you so you could cover up.

You thanked him and the two of you walked out to his car. Unfortunately, no grace meant no flying. Castiel began driving to a motel and the two of you rode in silence. When he finally pulled in, he got a room and then helped you onto one of the beds before sitting down next to you.

"Were you ever going to tell me?" you asked. He looked at you and turned his head, slightly confused. "That I'm your soulmate," you continued. Realization all but smacked Castiel in the face as he looked away, a bit embarrassed.

"I didn't know how to tell you. You all had brought me into your family, you showed me what it meant to have emotions. I didn't want to scare you or your brothers off by telling you that you were my soulmate," he explained.

"Do you know how I feel about you?" you asked, unable to make eye contact with him. You didn't want to have this conversation, but you needed to. "Yes," he replied. "And?" you questioned, wanting him to decide whether you would stay just friends or become something more.

Castiel took in a deep breath before looking at you and tilting your head upwards to make eye contact with him. He then softly placed a kiss on your lips, as if he was scared of hurting you by doing so.

You immediately responded to the kiss and pulled him closer, wanting to deepen it. He tangled his fingers in your hair, continuing to kiss you. After another minute, he pulled away and said, "You need rest after today."

You nodded your head, agreeing. You went into your bag and changed into some pajamas, handing Castiel his trench coat back, and then you both got into the bed. You laid on your side and he wrapped his arm around you, pulling you close to him, making sure nothing would ever happen to you again.
