{74} Sam Winchester

Imagine: You are one of the last Nephilim on Earth. You start hunting with the Winchesters, hiding your powers, until Sam gets hurt and you have to show your powers to save him.
Nephilim were considered one of the most powerful creatures. They were half angel, half human, which meant that they could do some things that angels couldn't do and some things that humans couldn't do. But, being that powerful also meant there was a bounty on your head. Most creatures and hunters wanted you dead. Some wanted to use your powers to do what they wanted. Either way, you knew the best way to survive was to blend in.
You started training yourself to not use your powers, to hide them. They were there if you needed them in an emergency, but you wanted to portray the idea that you were human. Once you trained yourself to behave solely like a human, you decided that you wanted to do something to help.
You began hunting down monsters. It wasn't the best idea. After all, why start hunting things that are hunting you? And why become part of the group that is trying to kill you? But, no matter how horrible hunters were to you, you also saw the amount of people they saved from the merciless monsters and that meant something to you.
Not to mention, hunting came very easily to you. You didn't use your powers but that didn't mean they didn't help boost you. You were strong, agile, quick and a good fighter. You took down any monster that came your way.
Things were going really well suddenly you were found. Before, you had only been a rumour floating through the hunter world. Someone who hunts by themself and is better than any other hunter anyone had ever seen. You liked being a rumour. It kept people from actually seeking you out.
But, that all ended when you were taking about a vamp nest. There were easily a dozen vampires, if not more. They fought hard, but you were still able to take all them out with no difficulty at all. You looked around to make sure there were no more and then you started to leave when you saw two figures standing before you. Not good.
"Who the hell are you?" you asked. "How did you do that?" the tallest one of them asked. You walked closer to them and saw that the tall one had long brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes. The shorter one looked a bit older with scruff, short brown hair and green eyes.
"I asked first," you responded. The shorter one just stood there, staring you down, as if he knew your secret and was trying to expose it. You just shrugged it off and returned your attention to the giant. "My name is Sam, and this is my brother Dean," Sam told you.
"Ah, the Winchesters," you stated, giving them a small smile. "You know us?" Sam asked. "Doesn't every hunter? You guys started and ended the apocalypse," you retaliated. "Right," Sam replied softly, looking down. "Your turn, who are you?" Dean asked, finally speaking up. "My name is Y/N," you said, and the Winchesters faces turned into shock.
"Wait, like the Y/N?" Dean asked, a smile slowly spreading on his face as he looked between you and Sam. "Yeah," you replied, a small blush on your face as you looked down. "Well, I guess the rumours about you are true," Sam stated.
You nodded your head before saying, "What are you guys doing here?" "We were tracking down the vamps, same as you. When we got here, we looked through the windows to see where the vamps were and we saw you taking them all down," Sam explained. "Which brings us to our first question: how did you do that?" Dean asked.
"Skill," you replied, walking past the boys. Dean chuckled and you heard him tell Sam, "Awesome." Sam waved him off and they both followed you out to your car. "Listen, um, we have this wraith case that we were going to check out a little ways from here, we could use the help," Sam suggested. "We could?" Dean asked, looking at Sam confused.
Sam gave him a slight bitch face that shut him up. "Look, I'm more of a lone hunter, I don't really do the whole teamwork thing. But, if you need help, I'll go. Just don't expect it out of me everytime," you replied. Sam gave you a polite smile, nodded his head and said, "Understood."
"Okay then, I'll follow," you replied, getting into your car. Sam looked surprised that you agreed and Dean just looked confused. Eventually, they got in their car and began driving to the town with you following behind them.
That was the start of your friendship with the Winchesters. Sam kept asking you for help on more cases. You didn't want to agree at first, but you actually enjoyed hunting with the Winchesters. Dean didn't really go deep with his conversations with you. Most of the time when he talked to you he was asking about a rumour he heard about a case or making jokes.
Sam was the one who really got past your barriers. You had walls made of diamond put up in your mind. They were practically indestructible. But, Sam wanted to truly get to know you. He was kind to you and opened up to you. So, you found yourself opening up to him. But, you didn't tell him about your secret. You could never tell him about your secret.
It was no secret that you had feelings for Sam. The two of you got along so well and you were always together. It was hard not to fall for him, but you could never act on your feelings because of what you were hiding.
You felt bad for hiding the fact that you were a nephilim from Sam, but you didn't want him to hate you like every other hunter. Sam knew you were hiding something from him too. The more he got to know you, the more he started falling for you as well. He started picking up on patterns that you did, including your tells for lying about something. But, he cared about you too much to pressure you into telling him something that you weren't ready to talk about. So, you just stayed friends, close enough to open up to each other, but not close enough to tell each other everything.
But, you knew your secret had to be revealed at some point, and that was exactly what happened when you and the Winchesters were caught in the middle of a small town's demon-apocalypse.
A group of demons had decided to ban together and take over the town that they were in. They caused death and destruction and then moved on to the next town. Dean had gotten it in his head that the three of you could take the demons on, so you tracked them down and went to their location.
It turned out the demons had been wanting the Winchesters attention the entire time, and they were beyond prepared to fight them. The three of you fought your hardest, but the demons were winning.
You knew you could do more, but you couldn't show your powers. Not with Sam and Dean watching. So, you just put more effort into your basic fighting skills. You killed a few more demons and then turned around to see Sam get stabbed.
"Sam!" you shouted running over to him. You killed the demon that stabbed him and then went down next to Sam. You ran a finger through his hair and you could tell he was starting to fade. You didn't have a choice. If Sam found out your secret and hated you, you would still lose him, but at least he wouldn't be dead.
Your mind started racing and your felt blind with power as the anger bubbled up inside of you. Your eyes glowed and Dean looked at you with shock in horror as you told him, "Close your eyes."
Then, with one powerful blast, you evaporated the remaining demons. You took heavy breaths as you tried to calm yourself down, and Dean opened his eyes to stare at you. You ignored him and went over to Sam. He had seen the whole thing too. You placed your fingers on his head and healed his wounds before telling them, "I'll pack my things at the Bunker."
You flew away, leaving the Winchesters behind, and went back to the Bunker. You felt tears streaming down your face as you walked in. You loved this place and you loved the Winchesters. You didn't want to leave either of them.
You didn't ask for this. You never asked to be this way. You hated the way you were. You had finally found a friend in Dean and something more in Sam. You were finally happy. But, now it was all over, because you were a monster.
You were just finishing packing the things in your room when Sam came in. "Hey," he stated. "Hey," you replied. "Glad to see you're okay," you continued. Sam shrugged his shoulders and said, "It's because of you." You shook your head and replied, "Because of my powers." "So, that was the secret you were keeping from me," Sam told you, finally understanding why you didn't say anything.
"Yep, guess it's not really a secret anymore," you replied. "You're leaving?" Sam asked. "Well, I would assume you want me to. Dean looked at me like I was a monster when he saw my powers. And, maybe I am," you explained, starting to walk past Sam.
Before you could pass him, Sam grabbed you by the arm and slammed you against the wall, crashing his lips to yours. You ran your fingers through his hair as he pulled your body into his. After a few more moments, he leaned his forehead against yours and softly said, "Don't go."
You looked at him confused and asked, "What?" "Dean was upset that you lied, but he agrees that you're our friend. You're not a monster Y/N, you saved my life. So, please, don't go," Sam explained, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. You looked at Sam, confused, for another moment before you leaned up and pressed your lips against his. He responded instantly, both of you had been waiting so long for this.
"Okay, I'll stay," you told him when you finally pulled away. Sam smiled and interlaced his hand with yours before pulling you to your bed. "Come on, I'll help you unpack," Sam replied. You smiled as you nodded your head and the two of you began putting your room back together.
You had expected Sam to hate you. To be disgusted with what you were, but you were wrong. Sam cared about you just as much as you cared about him, and now he knew your secret. Everything was out in the open now, which meant the two of you could finally move on; and, you couldn't wait to move forward with Sam.
