{61} Archangels

Imagine: The reader is the 5th archangel and during the apocalyptic war, Raphael, Gabriel, Castiel and the Winchesters ask her to convince Lucifer and Michael to stop fighting because they know Lucifer and Michael care deeply about her.
You smiled to yourself as you looked up towards the clear sky. It was a warm day but a slight breeze blew making for perfect weather. You shifted your gaze down in front of you, taking in the view of the trees that surrounded you. They were large pine trees that provided the perfect coverage and shade without blocking the view of the sky. You continued to shift your gaze down to the grass and the flowers underneath you. The many different colors you saw amazed you. Earth. So many angels took it for granted. Hated it. But, in your opinion, it was one of God's most amazing creations.
You took one more deep breath before heading back inside your small cabin. You came down to earth a few months ago when talk about Lucifer being sprung from the cage was going around Heaven. You hated the idea of the apocalypse. You were the fifth archangel, created alongside Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Lucifer himself. When the five of you were created, everything was peaceful in Heaven. There was no fighting, no rebellion, no Hell. You were the last one created -- the "baby" of the family. So, naturally, everyone adored you. And you adored all four of your brothers equally back.
You were always close to them. Michael taught you how to fight with his sword. Gabriel showed you the wonders of Heaven. Lucifer, the mischievous one, showed you how to have fun. And Raphael showed you how to fix things when you always accidentally hurt or broke something while you were having fun with Lucifer. You loved the way it was in Heaven. Then, God created humans.
Personally, you loved humans. You liked the idea of being able to care for something else that wasn't an angel. You liked the idea of being able to help them and you thought the way they were created was fascinating. The way they could feel certain emotions that you never could feel intrigued you. For a while, things went okay. But then, God instructed all angels to worship humans. No angel understood why but agreed to do it as they believed it was part of his Divine Plan.
But there were a few who disagreed with God's decision and the leader of this group was none other than your brother Lucifer. Lucifer refused to bow down before anything that wasn't God himself, explaining that he loved God too much to worship him in the same way. When God found out about this, he ordered Michael to cast Lucifer and those angels who followed him down.
You were the one who warned Lucifer to forget about his rebellion. You begged him to stop because you were concerned about your brother's safety. You were scared of losing him. He was noticeably upset at the way you felt, wanting to agree to make you feel better. But he stayed true to what he believed and when Michael led his army, Raphael stood beside him along with the other angels of Heaven and the battle ensued.
You stayed on the sidelines during the battle, trying to beg both of your brothers to stop, but neither of them listened. Eventually, it was your brother Gabriel who pulled you away from the battle and took you to another part in Heaven. You both were equally upset. You didn't understand how your brothers could betray each other. You thought you were all closer than that. But, you were wrong.
You hid in Heaven since that fight only making your appearance known in the most dire of situations. But when rumours began to spread around Heaven about the Winchesters and Lucifer being sprung from his cage, you went down to Earth. You knew angels would be looking for you, so you went into hiding. You didn't want any part of it.
You enjoyed your time on Earth, learning the secrets that different things held. Learning about the way mankind had evolved since you last dared to come down to Earth, around the time of King David. So you remained in hiding and had no plans of making your presence known. Unfortunately, fate had different plans.
As you walked in your cabin you saw a man with dark skin standing nonchalantly in your kitchen. A smile grazing his face as he looked at you. But, it wasn't the man you were concerned about. It was the angel who was possessing him - Raphael. "Brother," you stated in a greeting tone. "Sister," he greeted back in the same tone. "What are you doing here?" you asked, sitting down on a chair at your dining room table. Raphael moved to sit across from you as he said, "You know of the war that is coming?"
You hadn't heard that it was official, only rumors, but Raphael just confirmed it. "Lilith succeeded in breaking Lucifer free from his cage?" you questioned. "I'm afraid so," Raphael stated. "And you've come here to do what exactly? Ask me to fight alongside you and Michael?" you asked. Raphael paused, unsure of what to say, so you continued, "I refuse. I will not fight against any of my brothers. I love you all too much."
"I am not here to ask you to fight," Raphael stated. "Then why are you here, brother?" you asked in a more demanding tone this time. "I want you to talk to Michael and Lucifer," Raphael told you, moving his eyes from you to the table that sat in between the two of you. You were taken aback by his sentence, confused as to what exactly he meant. "It's no secret that you were the most adored in Heaven. The most loved by all of us. If there is anyone who can stop the fighting between Michael and Lucifer, it's you." Raphael explained.
You looked at Raphael skeptically and asked, "Why are you doing this? I know you. You could care less about the destruction to the humans that the war would cause. Why stop it?" you questioned. "It's true. I don't care much for the humans. I simply help where needed because that was what Heaven was instructed to do. Heaven is why I am asking this of you. Many angels will be lost in the war. It might be between Lucifer and Michael but they each have an army behind them. Heaven cannot afford another battle between our brothers," Raphael said.
You took a deep breath in before standing up from the table and stating, "I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, Raph, but I can't help you. I already tried once during the first battle to get them to stop fighting, and they didn't listen. It would be a waste of time to try again," you replied truthfully and then vanished from your small cabin. It was no longer a place you could hide now.
You didn't know where to go, you just knew you had to get away from Raphael. You ended up in a small town of Nebraska. You found another hiding place and even got a job working at a diner to try and blend in more so it wouldn't be easy for other angels to find you. For weeks your plan worked. Until one night, you were walking home from the diner.
It was dark, well past ten o'clock when you got off your shift. The house you were staying in was a short distance from the diner so you decided to walk. A mistake. You rounded a corner when all of a sudden a bright flame bursted around you and you found yourself caught in a ring of holy fire.
"Oh no. What now?" you asked yourself, slightly panicking. You tried to see past the flames and suddenly two figures came into view. You instantly knew who they were. Both men were tall in stature, muscles covering every inch of their bodies. They stood confidently in their flannel, staring at you. "Well I must have done something special to get a visit from the infamous Winchesters," you stated, staring at both of them.
They looked a little surprised to hear that you knew who they were, but they shrugged it off. "You're Y/N, right?" Sam asked, his eyebrow slightly quirking at the question. "Who told you about me?" you countered. It had to have been another angel. "Raphael," Dean stated. You should have known. "He said that you could stop the apocalypse," Sam continued for him. "Well I can't," you replied almost instantly.
"Y/N, please, we need help," you heard another voice say, coming out of the shadows. It was Castiel. Up in Heaven, Castiel was your favorite angel who wasn't an archangel. The two of you were very close. He helped you while you were in hiding and made sure that you always felt like you had someone to go to even though you couldn't go to your brothers. "Castiel. You were a part of this? Of capturing me?" you asked him, looking at him with soft eyes.
"For the record, I told them the holy water wasn't necessary," Castiel defended, his innocent eyes looking right back at you. "We just want to talk," Dean told you. "Prove it. Put out the holy fire," you said. You hated the feeling of being totally powerless. Of not being able to leave when you needed to. Sam and Dean looked unsure, almost on the brink of disagreeing when Castiel put out the holy fire.
The Winchesters looked at him in confusion and he told them, "We can trust her." You let out a sigh and motioned for the men to follow you as you went back to the diner and let them in. You all sat down and you began first, saying, "Raphael believes that I can stop the apocalypse by talking to my brothers. I was very close to both Michael and Lucifer up in Heaven. He thinks that they will listen. But he's wrong." "What makes you so sure?" Sam questioned. "During the first war, when Lucifer was first cast down with the other rebellious angels, I begged and pleaded for them to stop fighting. They didn't care to listen to me then, they won't care to listen to me now," you explained.
"So you took a page from ol' Gabe's book and ran away," you heard another voice say. You turned around and saw Gabriel standing there. He disappeared before you went into hiding and you missed his deeply. "Gabriel," you said softly with a small smile. "What are you doing here?" Dean asked. "Making sure you three don't mess with my little sister," Gabriel replied, walking over and sitting next to you.
"Now look, Y/N, I know that I am not the best one to be saying this, but you can't run. Look at everything around you. You know that you've fallen in love with Earth and mankind. It's all going to be destroyed by our brothers. I know you don't wanna get involved, kiddo, but you've got to. We need you on this one," Gabriel told you, giving you his best puppy dog eyes that instantly made you cave.
You let out a deep sigh and then looked at the group of men before saying, "I need you to get Michael alone. I've got to talk to him first." All four men looked pleased that you agreed to help and made a plan to get Michael alone. You all parted ways as the Winchesters told you their plan.
A while later, you met back up with the boys. When you walked into the building, you were surprised to see Raphael there as well. The five of them had set up the holy fire and were now hiding as Dean stood next to the ring. He told you hide and then began talking to Michael, telling him he was ready to say yes. Shortly after, Michael appeared right in the ring and Dean lit it on fire, successfully trapping Michael.
"Let me out, right now," Michael instructed. "No can do," Dean replied with a small smirk as he began walking away from the flame. You stepped out into Michael's field of vision, saying, "Hello brother." He looked shocked to see you as he said, "Y/N? I thought you were still in hiding."
"No more hiding. We need to talk," you replied. "About what?" he asked. "About this war. It's ridiculous and ends poorly no matter what," you explained. "The war has to happen despite the outcome, Y/N. That's the way it has to be," Michael replied. "According to what? God's plan? Our father is missing, brother. If you truly believed he wanted you to fight Lucifer, don't you think he would have instructed you to do so, like before? Don't you think that he would come back to make sure Lucifer was defeated? He doesn't want this. The constant fighting both in Heaven and on the Earth...it's why he ran away. All he wanted was for all of his creations to love each other and yet you sit there and lead an army against your brother?" you replied.
Michael looked down, feeling a bit ashamed. You were right. You all were family. God always taught the angels that love was the most important thing. Therefore, was he violating God's most important rule. "Lucifer won't back down. He will want the war. I have to fight him," Michael stated.
"Don't worry about Lucifer, Michael. I can handle him. I am asking you, please, back off. Do not engage the war. If you agree to not fight then I know I can convince Lucifer to step down as well," you told him, giving him your best begging eyes. "Do you truly believe there will be peace without the war?" Michael asked you. "Yes," you replied.
"You have two days to convince him to step down and then I have to ready Heaven's army," Michael stated. That wasn't a lot of time considering you still had to find Lucifer but you were thankful for any amount of time given to you. "Thank you," you told him, putting out the holy fire. He pulled you into a hug the second he was free and then vanished.
It took you both days to find Lucifer, but you finally did. This time you went alone and thought it best to not use any holy fire. Instead you made your presence known to a few demons who announced your arrival to Lucifer. Lucifer was happy to see you and when he finally met up with you, he pulled you into a tight hug. "Y/N, finally come to visit your big brother?" Lucifer teased. "I would have come sooner had you not been locked up in Hell," you teased back.
"So what brings you here? You wouldn't have come if you didn't have something to say," he said. "Stop the fighting," you replied very forwardly so that Lucifer instantly knew your intentions. His facial expression instantly fell into one of sadness and seriousness. "Michael sent you here? I never thought you would take his side over mine," Lucifer told you, the betrayal showing through his features.
"I didn't. I'm taking my side in this. My side of missing my brothers. My side of not wanting chaos and destruction to ensue. My side of wanting us to be a family again." you explained. "So you came to ask us to stop the war?" Lucifer questioned and you nodded your head. "Impossible. It's already started. Michael won't stop now," Lucifer told you. "He already agreed to it," you stated, shocking Lucifer.
"I talked to him, Luci. He's willing to lay down his sword if you are. This fighting is meaningless. We were always so close. Us against anything that came up and tried to divide us. I want my family back, Lucifer," you told him, the full extent of your sadness showing through your voice and expressions causing Lucifer to break.
"You always were my weakest spot, Y/N. But even if I did agree to this, there would be a lot of upset angels and demons who wanted to fight each other," Lucifer explained. "Then we face them together too, just like always. We get through this. We make peace. And we find Dad and bring everyone back together," you stated, pleading Lucifer with your eyes. Lucifer still looked unsure, so you begged him one last time.
"Please, Luci. I asked you to stop the fighting once before and you didn't and I lost all of my brothers. Don't make me lose them all again," you asked, your eyes big with hope. "Okay, Y/N. You win," Lucifer stated, pulling you into a hug. A warm smile filled your features as you hugged him back.
You and Lucifer flew to where Michael was waiting alongside the Winchesters, Castiel, Raphael and Gabriel. You all talked for a while. It felt like days but could only have been a few hours. You sat next to the Winchesters, and during the talk you leaned over to them and whispered, "Are you both at all intimated by the fact that you're sitting in a room full of angels who can smite you at any moment they want to?"
Dean and Sam both looked at you as Dean replied, "I wasn't until you said that." You laughed and shook your head, "Don't worry. I won't let them touch you. I think that would kill Castiel and he's too much of a lost puppy already." The three of you looked over at Cas who had been trying to make out what you were saying. As if one cue, when you all looked over, Cas cocked his head to the side, something he does often when he's confused, making the three of you try and stifle your laughter. He really was a lost puppy.
Eventually, Michael and Lucifer came to an agreement in which they could both be happy and peaceful. When they were done you stood up and said, "Listen brothers, I know I'm the youngest. But I'm old enough to know when things are wrong and when they are right. All of us together, feels right. Thank you for stopping the fighting."
They smiled back at you as each of your brothers pulled you into a hug. You then walked over to Dean and Sam and asked them, "How does it feel being the reason the apocalypse started and ended?" They both looked at you with a playful bitch face and you laughed it off, telling them, "I'm kidding boys, but in all seriousness, if you ever need help with anything, just ask and I'm there."
And with a small smile, you returned to your brothers and you all left. Not to Heaven. Not to Hell. But to a place where you could all get away for a while and re-establish your family. That's all that mattered to you. You had your family back and you weren't going to let anything tear it apart again.
Hello my little monsters,
I hope you all liked this one <3
Always Keep Fighting!
~Caela~
