The three trails are over and the gates of hell are now closed. The only problem is, Sam is dead. Castiel found out Metatron's plan and stopped him. Crowley, now cured of being a demon, is free to walk the Earth, but Dean is alone. 

He decides that since there is nothing left to hunt, he is going to make a life for himself. He has to learn to move on, and who else better to move on with than Lisa and Ben.

Opinion:

What if things had gone wrong at the end of season eight? This is the book that explains that 'what if'. 

Sam succeeded in the trials, but died doing so. Incredibly heartbroken, Dean tries to find the will to live. He mourns for his brother in many ways, including his anger and outbursts. There are a few mistakes in the chapters, but it's easy to overlook. The story is a little bland when it comes to staying true to character dialogue or actions, but I understand that. Writing is hard. At one point, the story seems a little rushed. It could've been stretched out to make more sense, with more probable mourning, anger, and dealing with those emotions before going off to Lisa and Ben. 

Overall, this book has incredibly potential for heartbroken Dean learning to find his way to happiness. The concept is really cool. Dean's sadness is pretty on point. I'm very curious to see how Dean would rejoin the real world again. You guys can definitely go check this book out and see the end for yourself. I'm going to continue reading it to see how this plays out!
