The first chapter of this really threw me for a loop, but in a good way. Seeing such early versions of Sam and Dean get into this mess is exhilarating and frightening all at once. Demons. A pit fight. Dean seeing the thing he wants to kill most, but the only thing truly there is Sam.

It flashes back 36 hours and tells the story of how they got in that mess. Dean is the promiscuous, scamming, pain-numbing guy we all know and love. Sam is the calm, nerdy, more hit-the-head-on-the-nail type guy we all know and love. Both are portrayed perfectly, in my opinion. Even when the author gets in their heads, the description and thought processes are amazing! There is a spacing issue in chapter 3, but other than that, the book looks great.

All in all, you guys should definitely check this one out. Finding out how Sam and Dean got into that mess will be an interesting adventure!
