Review:
You'll like the concept surrounding Dahlia. I personally find it intriguing. Kind of wish the writers had done something like this. It includes some familiar fan favorites outside of Team Free Will (*cough* a few baddies *cough*). But to find out who those are, you'll have to read the fic.
My faceclaim for Dahlia is below
Yes, she's a redhead. And yes, she's a common faceclaim for fics. But there wasn't really a cast list so I had to put a face to Dahlia.
On the ship matter, it's just me personally, I don't think they were needed. I was more focused on Dahlia's path in the story and just her in general. The story could have done just fine without them. But, again, this is just my feeling. Others may disagree, and that's okay. We're entitled to our opinions.
Why I feel the ships didn't work for me: the one with Sam felt way too quick (the kiss I can understand, but the sleeping together not so much), and with Cas it was just towards the end and kind of made me wonder why. Maybe it was the story length, but I feel like there wasn't a lot of time for the ships to really develop into their own. They just felt like they were there.
When I want to believe in a ship, I want to see it gradually progress into something. Not just kind of appear without a lot of background to lead up to it.
And I feel like having two members of Team Free Will trying to be romantic with the same girl...it just doesn't appeal to me. It feels like an unnecessary love triangle even though this story didn't feel like it had the presence of one. It was kind of like one ship was present and as one kind of faded a bit, the other one made a brief cameo.
I will say the ending is a refreshing change. Like in one chapter I had to reread it understand like 'did that just happen? that's why we're here now and not there?'.
So my little nitpicks aside, the plot makes it worth reading! :)
