"Alpha! We're here!" You and Benny Lafitte slowly enter the house of the Vampire Alpha, wary of any vamps that might be unaware of your arrival.

"Y/n, and my child. Lovely. Come in." The Alpha welcome the two of you in, and Benny rolls his eyes at the term he used.

"Nice to see you too Alpha. Where are all of the others?" Benny takes your jacket like the gentleman he is and hangs it on the coat rack.

"They are out today. The manor is reserved completely for our meeting. Rowena has already arrived so come with me." He leads the two of you towards the meeting room, and you marvel over the extravagant arches and hallways.

"Don't you think that this is a bit much?" You vaguely gesture around the room as you enter.

He looks around as if confused, and you can see the confusion and slight anger on his face.

"Rowena, what have you done?"

Christmas lights are floating around, magically being strung up and tinsel along with mistletoe moves to the doorways.

The Alpha walks into the room quickly, seeing mistletoe coming in his direction, but you and Benny are so caught up in staring at the floating lights and decorations that you don't notice the mistletoe.

By her spot at the table, Rowena smiles happily at her work, and the vampire alpha sighs as he watches the mistletoe hang itself.

"Um. Y/n?" Benny guiltily taps your shoulder as he looks up, and a blush darkens your face as you see the green plant. Standing on your toes, you quickly peck his cheek then move out from under the sprig of mistletoe.

"If this is what's supposed to happen today, then I'm glad that I chose to come. Let's do a tree! But by hand." You eagerly join up with Rowena and help her with her search for ornaments.

"This is not what the meeting was call-"

"-boys why don't you go get us a tree."

Benny and the alpha only exchange exasperated glances before leaving the room one by one. Careful to not leave side by side.

"So you and that Benjamin vampire, hmm?" Rowena teasingly nudges you as you find the closet by the fireplace with color-coordinated ornaments.

"Nothing is happening between us, Rowena." You laugh off her question as the two of you pick out silver, red and gold balls and icicle decorations.

"But you and Lucifer I've heard?" You teasingly bump her hip with your own as you grab silver garland, she blushes deeply as she shakes her head.

"I'm afraid it's very one sided. He doesn't seem to be the type looking for love." With a sigh, she helps you take the chosen tree decorations back into the main room.

"Y/n, Rowena. Have a seat." The Alpha is in the process of dragging a beautiful fir tree to the stand, and Benny is bringing hot chocolate to the table.

Rowena raises her brow at you as Benny pulls your seat to the side like a gentleman, and she gives you a secret smile as you roll your eyes at her.

"Thanks, Benny."

You sip your hot chocolate alongside Rowena as the men work on putting up the tree, and giggle as a confused bird zooms out of the shaking tree.

The poor thing chirps in terror before fluttering over to land on Rowena's red hair.
The bluejay chips as Rowena stiffens, and you quickly grab Rowena's hands as they reach for it.

"Don't. I've got this."

And with that, the two vampires look on in wonder as you carefully pick the blue-feathered bird off of Rowena's head, and allow it to rest on your shoulder instead.

"I wasn't going to harm it. It's a wee little thing anyways." The witch looks at the relatively small bird and slowly reaches a hand out to stroke the white feathers on it's chest.

"Okay let's finish the tree." The alpha and Benny gather the ordiments while you and Rowena leave your still scalding, hot chocolate on the table to join them.

You all look at the finished product, tiredness radiating from your muscles. but something seems to be missing.

"Oh my god we forgot the lights and the star."

Benny laughs as he watches you bolting back to the closet with the decor.

The alpha brushes past you with a hearty laugh as he reaches up over your head to grab the star from it's spot on a top shelf, and you hurredly grab the lights.

"Does this mean we have to start over?" Benny's confused and fearful question makes your heart stop as you realise that all of your hard work might be undone.

"NO!"
