sixteen - "your eyes were all glowy!"

Mira winced as Hulk smashed Thor into the ground face-first. She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Thor suddenly looked frustrated, picked up his weapon, and clashed with the green man. The Sakaarians cheered, then they became confused. Mira looked up at the window, and her eyes widened to see the blonde winning! As much as she hated it, she became a bit excited to see him victorious. She saw him use Hulk's anger against him, tripping him or throwing him down. He seemed to also be saying things to Hulk, something about "you're embarrassing me!"

"Your ego is as big as your arms," she murmured to herself. Loki almost rolled his eyes.

Hulk roared and punched Thor, sending him sprawling across the arena. He proceeded to land on the blonde god and continuously punch his face. Thor's head snapped left and right as Hulk pummeled him with jabs. Mira almost couldn't watch.

All of a sudden, Thor's eyes became glowing white. Mira tilted her head in confusion. Almost like robot, Thor straightened up and punched Hulk backwards with a burst of electricity. Mira and Loki both widened their eyes in shock (pun not intended). Thor was now surging with lightning - it crawled all over his skin and armour. He swung his arm and blasted Hulk again with electricity. Now, Hulk was on the floor. The stadium was silent for a minute, then the crowds began to chant.

"Thunder! Thunder!" they shouted. Mira looked over at Loki, who was just as surprised as she was.

"Did you know he could do that?" she whispered. He shook his head.

"I didn't even know he could survive without his annoying hammer," he whispered back. She facepalmed. Mira turned to see the Grandmaster with a very frustrated expression.

In the window, she saw Hulk and Thor boxing closely. Thor was very clearly winning. But then he dropped like a sack of potatoes. He looked like he had been...shocked?

"What the hell?!" Mira shouted. Thor was not one to back out of a fight or faint. She almost jumped out of her seat, but Loki held her down. He subtly pointed at the Grandmaster. Mira looked at the older man and almost gasped when she saw a small device in his hand. It was obviously that he had sabotaged the god so that his beloved grand champion could win. Her blood boiled. The Grandmaster gave her an innocent smile.

"Is something wrong, Miss Goddess?"

"You little-"

"Mira!" Loki cut her off. "I think this match is over. Thank goodness I bet on the grand champion!" The other guests laughed along with him. Mira felt her hands sparking in anger. "Alright, we will be heading to our room now. Thank you for such an invigorating evening!" Loki waved at the Grandmaster while half dragging Mira out of the room.

Loki let Mira fume in silence for a couple minutes, him lounging on the bed and her walking in circles around the room with her hands on fire. He found it amusing to see her so mad and also on fire. She did not seem to notice the flames that much.

"I can't believe that he did that!" she exclaimed, still clearly shocked and mad at the Grandmaster.

"He does actually have complete dictatorship on this planet," Loki pointed out.

"Yeah, and it sucks!" she said frustrated. They reached their room, and Mira started pacing around. Loki sat down in a chair near the window.

"Mira, pacing and complaining won't help anything," he said, rubbing his forehead.

"Well apparently nothing I do will help anything!" she threw her hands in the air.

"Calm down," Loki said. "Let me figure something out."

"Oh no," she whirled around, glaring at him. "Loki Laufeyass, you wil do NOTHING to hurt your brother, ok?!"

"I'm adopted," Loki murmured.

"Doesn't matter! You're family! And I will not let you try and kill Thor. Again!"

"I won't!" said Loki, trying to look innocent.

"You are not very good at looking innocent," she muttered.

"Ok, fine," he said, standing up. He walked over to her and held her still by her shoulders. "Mira, I won't do anything, but to be honest, you can't do anything without my help." Loki let go and headed towards the hallway.

Before he could walk out the doorway, he felt something wrap around his waist, drag him back to the chair, and then tie him down. He pulled at his arms with frustration, but they were held down with a golden rope. Loki narrowed his eyes and looked up at Mira, whose wrist was still at her side even though her whip was around him.

"Mira..."

"Make me an illusion, so I can talk to Thor," she said, crossing her arms. It made the rope tighten a bit, and Loki winced.

"Let me go," he said through gritted teeth.

"Promise me you'll help."

"Mira..."

"Promise, you green Frostgiant Asgardian." She pulled on the whip again, and he grimaced.

"Ok, ok fine!" As soon as he said the words, the rope loosened and Loki quickly pulled it off. Mira crossed her arms again. "So...right now or-"

"Yeah right now."

"Alright." Loki waved his hands a bit, and green mist swirled around his fingers. "It might feel like talking through a wall of water."

"So like in the Pirates ride at Disneyland?" Mira asked, tilting her head.

"What is Disneyland?" said Loki, confused. Mira facepalmed.

"Nevermind. Ok, anything else I need to know?"

"Don't try and reach out to the person or you might lose a limb, don't move too much or you might again lose a limb, talk normally, and stay calm. Otherwise you-"

"Might lose a limb?" Mira interrupted.

"How did you know?" Loki said, smirking.

"No idea," she said with sarcasm. The green magic grew more vibrant, and it began to move closer to Mira. It reminded her of Cora's magic, just more scary-feeling.

"Step through this," Loki motioned towards the widening portal.

"Here goes nothing," she murmured to herself. Mira took a deep breath and walked into the mist.

She saw a large room with Sakaarian furnishing. There were various colours everywhere, a big shelf of glass bottles, and a window that matched her's. It was slightly blurry as Loki had said. The edges of her vision were clouded with emerald. Mira narrowed her eyes and saw Thor sitting on a giant bed, awkwardly swinging his legs and looking down at the floor.

"Thor," she said. He seemed not to hear her. Mira rolled her eyes. "Thor, c'mon." The blonde kept looking at the floor. "THOR!" The god finally looked up with wide eyes.

"Mira! What are you doing here?" he said with a big grin. Thor ran over and lunged forward as to give a hug.

"Wait Thor-" Before she could finish, he ran right through her and landed on the floor with a big thud. "Ah! I'm so sorry! Are you ok?! I didn't mean it! It was Loki's fault!" Thor rubbed his head and stood back up.

"So you're working with my brother now?" he said, sounding hurt. Mira's heart felt squeezed.

"N-not really?"

"You are," said Thor, walking back to the bed. "You're using his magic. Maybe you are him!" He narrowed his eyes accusingly. Mira put her hands up and shook her head.

"No no it's me! It's Mira! I promise!" she reassured. "I just had to talk to you. I'm worried, you know?"

"Really?" He frowned. "How come you haven't come to get me out of here yet?"

"I-I know," Mira stammered. "I'm really sorry, Thor, but this Grandmaster dude is crazy. It's really hard to get past security and all. Plus, apparently you're the one person I can't save."

"That's not good," Thor said. She nodded.

"Yeah. Sorry." There was a pause. "I'll try and get you out, ok? I promise."

"How?" Thor said. He kicked the bottom of the bed. "I can't get this stupid disk off of my neck, and that stupid Valkyrie won't help. Also Banner is being the most annoying creature ever." Mira couldn't help laughing at the last statement.

"Yeah he is." She thought back to his other statement. "Wait what?"

"What?"

"You said something about a uh Val-something? Who's that?" she asked.

"That girl!" Thor said, obviously upset at whoever he was talking about. "The one who sold me!"

"A Scrapper?" Mira said. He shrugged.

"I do not know. She drinks a lot," he explained. Mira's mind clicked.

"Bruna?!"

"Who?"

"The Val person!"

"The correct term is Valkyrie," Thor corrected. Mira waved her hand at him.

"Ok ok whatever. I call her Bruna."

"But wh-"

"We're getting off track!" she said. He rolled his eyes. "Did you just roll your eyes at me?"

"Yes."

"You're sometimes more stubborn than even your brother, oh my god." She rubbed her forehead.

"Mira," Thor said, contemplating, "what happened during the end of the fight?"

"Banner knocked you out," Mira said. Thor frowned.

"N-no! Not that!" He crossed his arms to look bigger.

"Oh the lightning stuff?" she suggested. He nodded.

"Yes, that. What happened?"

"Well, lighting was like everywhere," Mira said. "And your eyes were all glowy! It was kinda weird, but cool. Loki was impressed and surprised."

"I have special powers too, brother," murmured Thor, under his breath. Mira suppressed a laugh. "And oh. Glowy...eyes?"

"Yep," Mira said.

"My eyes were..."

"Glowy! They were glowy with lightning stuff! How many times do I have to repeat myself?" Mira sighed. He laughed.

"I don't know what happened to be honest," Thor said. "I saw my father all of a sudden, and then I was back to punching Hulk with electricity."

"Your father? Odin?" Mira said, confused. "Isn't he dead?"

"Yes," said Thor, looking down.

"Sorry," Mira said, regretting her words.

"That is why I'm confused!" he said. "I thought he was gone forever!"

"What do you think you'll do next?" asked Mira, picking at her dress slightly.

"Maybe contact someone. I'm not sure," he said. "Maybe see you soon." He looked up hopefully.

"You flatter me, Thor Odinson," she laughed. "Ok I think Loki is getting annoyed, so I'll talk to you later. I'm doing my best to try and get you out."

"Thank you, Mira," Thor said, smiling. She smiled back and as she waved, Mira felt the magic wear away. She closed her eyes and felt it washing all away.

"Why are your eyes closed, Mira?" Loki said, annoyed as expected. He was sitting in a chair, looking bored. "What did my idiot brother tell you?"

"He is not an idiot, geez!" Mira rolled her eyes. "You also are one."

"I am no-ok well," Loki sighed. "What did he tell you?"

"Nothing really."

"Wait, did you even ask him anything?" said Loki. Mira awkwardly looked at the ceiling.

"Sort of...we uh talked."

"Mira."

"We talked about his lightning thing and then he wants to communicate to someone and  also he's being a bit of a baby about Hulk and Bruna," she said.

"Wait you said something about a Val," Loki said, narrowing his eyes. "Who was that?"

"Bruna," replied Mira. "He calls her a uh val-something." Loki suddenly looked like he was thinking intensely. "You ok there, god of green?"

"It's god of mischief, mortal," said Loki, groaning.

"Name is Mira, how have you not learned that yet?!"

"Ok well," Loki said, looking back up at her. "Are you going to try and rescue Thor?"

"I'm going to try," Mira said, smiling. Loki shook his head at her but patted her shoulder.

"Good luck, mortal."

"My name is Mira! C'mon Laufeyass!"

"I am not sorry."

"I hate you."
