six - "i'm a fricking goddess here. suck it, god of green."

Mira paced across her room, and Cora looked up from her seat on the bed. It was the next day, but Mira had been restless all night and had barely slept. Loki was in Sakaar. In jail of course, but he still was dangerous. However, Mira thought, he must know where Thor was. Was the glorious blonde in danger? What happened to antler lady who vaguely resembled that one other lady in that really long book series? And why was Loki in Sakaar in the first place? She shook her head at herself and continued to pace. Cora finished plumping the pillows and shook her head a bit at the pacing. Mira was still in her pajamas, and Cora was in her usual light pink outfit. Today though, it was more of a summery dress with ruffled layers.

"Ma'am, would you like me to help you somehow?" she asked. Mira stopped to glance at the red head but then began pacing again.

"I mean, if you could find out how I can back home to my son in New York and also if Thor is ok and if the Avengers would take me back, then yeah sure."

"Uh..."

"Sorry," Mira went to sit next to Cora. "Sorry, I just got really stressed for a bit." She took in a deep breath. "I need to be able to talk to Loki. Am I allowed to?"

"You mean, your ex lover?" asked Cora.

"He's not actually my ex lover. I just kind of thought of that because of Davi-" Mira stopped herself and cleared her throat. "He's more of a frenemy."

"What is that?"

"Like a friend-enemy. More of an enemy though," Mira said. Cora looked worried.

"Is he dangerous?"

"I hope not."

"So...you know him from Earth?"

"Yeah." Mira nodded. "He was the first person I fought against as an Avenger."

"Who are the Avengers?" Cora said, confused. Mira smiled at the fond memories of her old friends.

"We're a group of superheroes. Put together to save the world and stuff."

"Oh. So saviors?"

"I guess so. But a lot of people don't really like us. Because we cause a bunch of destruction." Mira gave a small laugh. "Sorry, Sokovia."

"Who is Sokovia?"

"Not a person - it's a place. That was the last time I fought with the Avengers. Tony, Cap, Nat, Bruce, Tor, Clint and his farm. Oh and Sam. But we also met Wanda and Pietro." She paused. "Pietro didn't make it." Cora put a hand on Mira's shoulder.

"He must have been very brave."

"Yeah, he was. We were fighting again this robot army thing. It was crazy, there was stuff blowing up and Tony helped me fly and it was like this." Mira made some explosion and wooshing sounds. Cora laughed. "I miss them a lot."

"Why did you leave?" Cora said with interest.

"My ex made me leave. He said it was too dangerous, and now that I had a son, I just couldn't afford to like die." Mira sighed. "I would've stayed though. David left anyways." There was a pause.

"Why do you need to talk to this Lucky man?" asked Cora, breaking the silence.

"His name is Loki. And he knows where my friend is. I was with them before I landed here," Mira explained. Cora nodded.

"I'm sorry to say, but you aren't allowed in the jails. I'm not allowed either," Cora said. She frowned.

"Crap." Mira stood up, started pacing again, and thought. She reached the window and looked into the city.

Out of her window, she could see various ships flying around the busy sky. There was one in particular that caught her attention. It was made of dark metal but had different white and orange decals on the engines. There was also a pilot's bubble on the top and big guns on each side. A woman got out of the cockpit and was swaying as she walked. Mira recognized her as Bruna, Cora's strange friend. Suddenly, Mira's eyes lit up.

She had an idea.

"Hey Cora," Mira turned back. Cora looked up again.

"Yes?"

"Did you say that you could make disguises?" Mira grinned. Cora wrung her hands together.

"Yes. I've only done it a couple times though. But I can do it."

"How long does it last?" asked the Asian. Maybe this idea can work.

"As long as you need, I think," Cora said. Mira sat on the edge of the bed.

"Alright, can you make me one? It's just like makeup and stuff like that right?" Cora got up and stood in front of Mira in a thinking pose, chin in her hand.

"Yes. What kind of disguise?" She twirled her hand in a circular motion, and coral coloured magic swirled around her fingers. Mira shrugged.

"Anything you think is the best."

"Ok. Here, stand up." Mira stood up, and Cora pushed her hand towards her. The magic washed over Mira's clothes. She looked down and saw a black leather outfit studded with silver. She moved her arms and observed that the leather jacket sleeves were worn and not stiff. It was the same with the pants. Mira grinned.

"Oh my god, this is the most amazing outfit I have ever worn!" She moved to look at the mirror. She was also wearing a black shirt underneath and silver earrings.

"It needs more though. You still look like Mira," Cora commented. Mira laughed and nodded, turning back. Cora's eyes brightened with another idea. "I got it!" She waved her hand again, and Mira felt a small tugging in her hair. As soon as it left, she looked in the mirror again and grinned more. The front portions of her jet-black hair were streaked with vibrant purple.

"I look like a badass motorcycle girl," she said as she picked up a strand of purple and gazed at it. Cora laughed.

"One more thing." She made a motion in the air, and Mira's eyes suddenly burned. "Oh it might hurt!" Cora added.

"No kidding," Mira groaned. She opened her eyes slowly and blinked a couple times until the burning went away. Cora smiled.

"Look in the mirror, ma'am."

"Uh oh...what did you do now?" Cora laughed again and turned Mira around. Mira gasped so hard she started coughing a bit.

Her eyes were green! Not a normal green, a bright neon green!

"Oh my god!" She went closer to the mirror and pulled on her eyelid to look at her eyes. They looked very real. "Wow! I look like a full on mutant! Holy crap!"

"Ok last thing," Cora turned her around again. "Be ready for it."

"I'm never ready for anything," Mira mumbled. Cora made a slash motion with her finger, and the underside of Mira's right eye felt as if paintbrush had brushed over it. "That was a weird feeling."

"Here." A small mirror magically appeared in Cora's hand, and she held it up to Mira's face. Under her right eye, there was a light purple streak. It perfectly matched her now purple hair.

"I look totally different," Mira said in disbelief. "This is amazing!" Cora nodded and then sat down. She looked tired. "Are you ok?"

"Yes, I'm fine," Cora said. "A complete transformation sometimes drains me. But now you look amazing!"

"Thank you so much, Cora. You are an absolute lifesaver," Mira smiled. Cora smiled back.

"You're welcome. Do you want to go now?" Mira nodded.

"Yeah, I think so."

"The jails are in the building across and are in the downstairs level. You can ask the guards also. There is a guard in front of the cells named 1008, and he is more friendly than the rest. Tell him that you are on an errand for the Grandmaster's goddess."

"Thank you again, Cora. One thing though," Mira said awkwardly. "How do I get out of this place?"

A couple minutes later, Mira was out on the streets of Sakaar and walking towards the jails.

"Ok take a left here," she muttered to herself, trying to remember Cora's instructions. She turned left and reached the jail building, which was not as intimidating as she would've thought. It was the average height of a normal building, grey but splattered with dark blue paint, and had no guards in the front. She smiled to herself but then remembered Cora said they were inside. Dammit. Oh well. Mira took in a deep breath and then walked in.

The interior matched the exterior, dark blue and grey. Two guards stood in front of a medium sized doorway. Through it, she could see a handful of cells, mostly empty. She guessed not much crime happened on Sakaar.

Clearing her throat, Mira walked over in front of one of the guards and smiled. He was wearing all blue armour that covered his whole body but had a small inscription of the numbers 1008 that were almost hidden.

"Hi! Are you guard 1008?" she asked as friendly as possible. He nodded. "I know Cora, and I'm on a um errand for the goddess. Of fire," she added. He nodded once more. "Could I...could I go in?" The guard thought, and Mira panicked for a second. Then there was a deep grumble, and then the two guards moved out of the way. "Thanks!" She quickly slipped past them.

Mira's heels clicked down the short hallway and rang in her ears. She was walking around the different cells when she was interrupted by something.

"Your boots are incredibly annoying."

Mira whirled around, purple hair flying around her face, and saw Loki sitting against the wall in a cell behind her. He was still in his green Asgardian attire. On instinct, her hand blew up in flames. He looked at her with an unimpressed look.

"Your boots are incredibly annoying," he repeated.

"Thanks, jerk," she muttered as she shook her hand to take the fire out. He rolled his eyes. She cleared her throat and tired to regain her composure by leaning on the nearby wall. "What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here?" he shot back.

"I'm a fricking goddess here." She crossed her arms and looked him up and down. "Take that, god of green."

"I'm the god of mischief, mortal."

"I know already," she scoffed. "I'm not stupid."

"Are you sure?" Loki murmured.

"I can hear you!"

"Yes, you mortals have ears. Good observation. Are you done here?" He shifted his legs to be more comfortable.

"God, you are really an insufferable know it all."

"Is that an original quote, mortal?"

"No, but if you were actually smart, you'd know where it was from." Mira paused. "Ok, this conversation went very off topic. And how did you know it was me? I have a disguise!" She pointed to the leather jacket.

"I have a special skill in magic, Miss Lam," Loki sighed. "If you were actually smart, you'd know that already."

"Don't turn my own words on me, smartass," she retorted. She crossed her arms again. "So...you can see through this outfit?"

"Yes."

"Through my clothes?!" Mira was about to cover her body with her arms when Loki shook his head, laughing slightly.

"No, mortal. Calm down."

"Thank god."

"Which one?"

"Oh shut up."

"I can see through whatever primitive magic your maid has." Mira gave him a glare. "I'm here on the same reason of you," Loki said. Mira looked up.

"But...it's been days since I fell from that Bifrost thing. How long did you all stay there for?!"

"It's been days because of time and how the Bifrost interprets it," he explained, sounding bored. "I figured that you had been here for awhile. Looks like it. You have a maid, and you're revered as a goddess." He stood up and dusted off his sleeves. "This place is filthy by the way."

"It's not so bad," she replied. "And she isn't a maid. She's my friend."

"It really is. And wow, you must have been very lonely if your maid is your friend."

"Ok shut your mouth, Loki Laufeyass," Mira waved her hands. "I can get you out of here."

"And why would you want that?" He smiled dangerously.

"Because you have answers. And I," she said, "have questions."

"Before I give you answers," he stopped her, "you have to get me out of this jail, Miss Goddess." He smiled again. She rolled her eyes but nodded.

"You'll be out of here, but I gotta warn you, the Grandmaster is a little crazy." Loki looked confused.

"Who is the Grandmaster?"

"Oh boy, you'll learn soon, bud. See you!" She waved and started walking away.

"Do not call be 'bud,' ever again!" he called after her. Mira grinned to herself. This would be fun.
