TWELVE

"YOU'VE ALWAYS LIKED mysteries haven't you?" Dally questioned while putting out his cigarette.

I nodded my head, afraid that if I opened my mouth to speak I'd start crying all over again. "Well, let's go on an adventure." Dally patted my back and motioned me to follow him.

I didn't know where I was going and it probably wasn't going to be anywhere good with Dally, but at the moment I didn't care what happened to me. We kept walking for what seemed like an hour until we finally stopped at this weird bar. Dally started walking inside, but I stopped and looked at the building. He turned around and furrowed his eyebrows. "C'mon, I don't have all night."

I huffed and followed him inside, being sure to stay close to him. All of the drunk guys kept trying to touch me and Dally had to keep slapping their hands away from me. He pulled me up these stairs and pushed me into a room. He sat on the bed and I sat at the table, looking at all of the pieces of paper laying on it.

My eyes went huge and my jaw dropped. There were thousands of newspapers on here, all of them about my dad. I glanced up at Dally. "Is this...... my dad's room?"

He shook his head yes and I crossed my arms. "How did you know this?"

"Because one night I was drunk and stumbled into this room. He wasn't in here, but I saw a few pictures of him and your mom." Dal explained while laying on the bed.

I bit my lip. "Were there any pictures of me?"

He gave me a small smile and pointed behind me. "Look for yourself."

I snapped my head around and I gasped. The whole wall was covered in pictures of me, my mom, and all three of us.

Below are some pictures of Kieran that were on the wall. (and the baby pictures are actually Barbara Palvin! She's the one that plays Kieran.)

I cringed at the baby pictures of me and then looked to my right to find a picture of me two months ago. Dad took this picture, I remember.

I turned back towards Dally and pulled a chair up while sitting in it. "So, where is my dad?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "You're the detective. You put the clues together. Where do you think he is?"

I pondered on his question and stood up, looking around the room some more. He had a ton of clothes in the closet, which meant he did live here. I turned back towards Dally. "He must be out somewhere."

Dally held up a piece of paper while smirking. "I think he's here."

I glanced at the paper he was holding up and chuckled. "Dally, I can't believe I'm going to say this, but let's go find my dad!"

We walked out of the bar and ran back towards Tulsa. I stopped for a second and tried to catch my breath and Dally did the same. Once we got ready to run again, we didn't stop until we arrived at my old house. I stopped in front of it and swallowed the huge lump in my throat. "I think I'm going to be sick."

Dally sighed and looked at me. "Kieran, you're the strongest girl I know. You can do this. If Pony was here, he'd be saying the same thing."

My confidence boosted a little when he mentioned Pony believing in me and I slowly walked inside my old house. It was completely dark in the living room, but I heard talking upstairs. I looked back at Dally and he nodded his head. I tiptoed up the stairs, not making a single sound. When I arrived upstairs, I noticed that the conversation was coming from my parent's room. I took a deep breath and put my ear against the door so I could hear what was going on.

"Jace, you've got yourself caught so many times that now our DAUGHTER has ran away! Corey has been looking all over the place for her after she ran out on him! It's all because of you!"

I stepped away from the door. My breath was hitching and I felt like I was going to pass out. Dally grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me into the closet right as they walked out the door. I saw through the opening of the door and my eyes went wide. It... it was my mom and dad. They started walking out and stopped right in front of the closet, making me hold my breath.

"I'm just saying, Lia, she deserved to know that we were alive. We've probably put her through hell." My dad snapped.

My mom shook her head. "If she would've known about this, she would've been killed. We can't put her in any danger."

"Really? Because I think she's in A LOT of danger! She ran away!" My dad shouted. It felt weird hearing my parents fight again. I realized that I was still holding my breath in and I was getting light headed. I breathed out and my eyes went wide, realizing how loud it was. Dally silently cursed and flicked me. "Did you hear that?" My mom questioned.

The doorknob started turning and I closed my eyes real tight. I stood up and kicked the door open, causing me to slam the door in my dad's face extra hard. (LMAO I LAUGHED TOO HARD AT THAT BECAUSE I PICTURED IT)

My dad yelled a string of cuss words and my mom's eyes went wide when she saw me. Dad walked over, holding his hand over his nose, and once he saw me his reaction was the same as mom's.

"K-Kieran?" My mom whispered.

Dally was right behind me and put his hand on my shoulder. "What have y'all been doing that's caused you to fake your deaths and put your daughter through hell?!" I shouted and shot an icy cold glare at the both of them.

My dad closed his eyes and sighed, "Kieran, we work with the FBI."

"Oh, so is this how y'all decided your death? 'Oh, Lia, let's go pretend to get shot at night so we can put our daughter in a house with her grandpa and put her into a swirling spiral of depression.'" I spoke, imitating his voice.

Dally started chuckling behind me and I crossed my arms, looking at my parents. "I know you're about to say, 'but we just didn't want to hurt you.' That's complete bull. You hurt me even more by doing this. I have a lot of friends now and once I get done being mad at Gramps, I'm staying with him. I don't need you two. I've done just fine without y'all." I snapped and went downstairs, walking out the door.

I started running and soon enough I heard Dally's feet running right after mine. I got to the Curtis's house and when I ran in, I made everyone jump. "There you are! Where the hell have you been!?" Darry yelled.

"Oh, I see Gramps didn't tell you either, huh?" I shouted, as tears ran down my face. Ponyboy ran over to me and pulled me into a hug. "Where have you been, Kieran? You had us all worried."

"My dad and mom have been alive the whole time!" I screamed, "Dally and I went to find my dad, so we went to my old house. Turns out, I found both of them. Apparently, they work for the FBI!" My arms started flailing all over the place and Pony tried to get me to calm down.

Darry went to the phone to tell Gramps I was okay and Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Steve kept trying to cheer me up. "If it makes you feel better, Sandy cheated on me with another guy and is going to have his baby." Soda spoke and I instantly started giggling.

"I'll let you have all of the chocolate cake." Steve exclaimed and I smiled. "Good, I was going to eat all of it anyways."

"I yelled at Cherry." Ponyboy rolled his eyes and a huge grin was plastered on my face. "What about?"

Steve and Soda started smirking and Ponyboy hesitated. "I'll tell you later."

Darry walked over to us once he got off of the phone and shook his head. "Kieran, I have to take you home."

I shook my head. "I'm not budging."

Sodapop started chuckling. "Looks like we're going to have to carry you then."

Soon enough, I found myself slung over Soda's shoulder. I started pounding on his back and Ponyboy was laughing so hard, I thought his face was going to turn purple.

When we arrived at Gramps house, Soda let me down and they all trapped me so I couldn't run away. Two-Bit shrugged, "Let her run loose. Shoot, if I found out my parents have been alive this whole time, I'd want to run away too."

All of the guys shot a glare at Two-Bit. "You're not helping."

Johnny put his arm around my shoulder and gave me a hug. "You've got this, Ki." I took a deep breath and nodded. I walked inside the house and a gun was right in front of my face.
