Little Listener
I know I said I was taking a break, but I got bored so here we are. I hope you guys like this chapter. Also sorry for any errors, I'm typing in the dark. I have a bad habit to write entire chapters after 10:00 lol.

The Same Day
12:09p.m. Yamada-Aizawa Residence
Izuku was sitting in the backseat of the car when Hizashi pulled it into the garage. His eyes softly fluttered open, showing their brilliant green color. Hizashi looked in the rearview mirror and saw that Izuku had woken up. "Hey, we're home Izu. Lets go inside," he suggested. Izuku nodded and slowly got out of the car, still groggy from his nap.
Shota unlocked the door and held it open for the other two. He grabbed Izuku's hand as he walked past. At first the child was apprehensive, but slowly melted into the man's grip and squeezed back. They walked into the house together. "Zashi, why don't you show him around, I'm gonna take a shower."
"Ok babe, do you want me to wait to show him his room?"
'God, how clueless can he be?' Shota wanted to give his boyfriend the chance to win the boy's trust. He figured he'd need the help being that his sister was the one who abused the child for the past few years. "No, its fine. Don't wait up for me," he said with a smile.
He walked off, Izuku assumed, in the direction of the bathroom. "Alright then little listener, its just you and me." Hizashi smiled lovingly at the kid. "Follow me," he said with his usual enthusiasm. He began to walk off when he feld a small tug at his sleeve. He looked back to see Izuku looking down at his feet.
"Can I hold your hand?" He looked so emberassed to be asking this. He was ten years old after all, he just wanted the comfort of holding somebody's hand.
Hizashi was shocked by the question, he hadn't anticipated Izuku warming up to him so quickly. "Of course," he smiled softly. He gently took the boy's hand up in his own and led him off down the hall. He pointed out the bathroom, the kitched, the livingroom and the bedroom he shared with Shouta. When they passed the last room they came to another with a door labeled "Izuku". Hizashi opened the door and let Izuku go in ahead of him.
Once he entered the room the child's face filled with awe. The room fit him perfectly. There were action figures of all his favorite pro heroes, including All Might, Eraserhead and Present Mic. There was a bookshelf with all of his school books, and a few books that he'd aquired over the years. The walls were a pale blue and there was a bed pushed against the wall with red white and blue sheets. The closet was filled with new clothes that looked like they might actually fit him, rather than the too small cloting that he's been wearing when he lived with the Yamadas.
"Do you like is?" Izuku turned around and looked up and Hizashi.
"I love it!" He exclaimed, running into his arms and embracing him. Hizashi noticed that Izuku had started cying and held him a little tighter.
"I'm glad you like it little listener." He pulled away and kneeled down so that he was eye level with the boy. He looked at him and wiped the tears from his face with his thumb. "Hey, hey," he cooned, "Come on now, theres no need to cry." Izuku hugged him again.
"Thank you Mr. Mic," he said into the man's shoulder.
Hizashi chuckled at the child's formality. "You can call me Hizashi if you want," he suggested.
"Ok Hizashi."
8:57p.m. The same place
Shota, Hizashi and Izuku were all sitting around a coffee table in the middle of the livingroom. Having finished their dinner they decided to play some old board games. Shota looked at the clock mounted on the wall. Upon seeing the time he looked over at Izuku and said,"Ok kiddo, time for bed."
Izuku got up obediantly and headed off to his room. Hizashi and Shota looked at eachother for a moment before getting up to follow him. When they reached his room they found him already in bed with the blankets loosly draped over him. The two walked over. Shota gave him a hug and muttered his goodnights. Hizashi hugged the boy after, tucking him in before he left. He paused in the doorway, and as he turned out the lights he said,"Goodnight little listener. Sleep well."
Two Months Later
10:28p.m. Yamada-Aizawa Residence
"So, I've been thinking..."
"That's dangerous," Shota said with a slight smirk.
"Rude," Hizashi pouted but continued, "You said that we were going to help the kid become a hero." He looked over at Shota, who nodded, then back at his hands. "How are we going to do that? He's quirkless."
"I'm not sure, but we'll figure it out... we have to. He has the heart, I saw that firsthand two years ago. Even though he was quirkless he still ran towards a burning building, trying to save those inside. If I hadn't stopped him, he would have run in there." Aizawa had a distant look in his eyes. He was determined to find a way to make this boy a hero, no matter what it took.
"Well then, we'll have to start his training soon. I hear Endeavor started training his youngest son by the age of five. Izuku'll have a hard time catching up."
Shota sighed, "I know he'll be able to. He's a tough kid, and he's determined. He'll be a great hero, better than you or I. I know it."
"You know Sho, I think in a way, being quirkless has made that boy stronger." A light smile spread across his face as he looked in the direction of Izuku's room.
The Same Time
The fire
The fire consumed everything. It raged through the night, destroying everything in its path. It showed no mercy.
No mercy.
The bright blue light burned his eyes, making it nearly impossible to see. Even though he was nearly blinded he ran forward, sprinting to hold onto something he couldn't reach. His legs failed him before, he wouldn't let it happen again. He ran harder.
"Izuku! Help me!"
He ran as hard as he could, reaching even further than before. He was too late, the fire consumed his mother again. It never showed any mercy.
"Hey Deku! Show us your quirk! Oh wait, I forgot," Kacchan's smile crept its way into his head, "YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!" He screamed as he pushed Izuku to the ground.
'If I had a quirk...maybe mom would still be alive. Maybe I could have saved her.'
The fire was back, this time it moved faster. This time it was after him. He ran as fast as he could, trying his best to escape but
"AAAAAHHHH" He shot straight up out of bed, panting and sweating.
"Izuku, whats wrong?" Hizashi burst through the door looking concerned. He looked over to the bed to see Izuku shaking and crying. He walked over and sat on the bed, pulling Izuku into a tight hug. "Shh, shh. Its ok," he rubbed Izuku's back, "Its ok little listener, it was just a dream." He held onto him tight, rocking him slowly in an attempt to comfort the child.
"Dad," he sobbed into Hizashi's shoulder, "Dad, I w-was s-s-so scared."
Shota walked through the door, trying to figure out what all the commotion was about. He saw a distressed Izuku being cradled by Hizashi. He walked over and pulled them into his chest.
"Can... can I-I sleep with y-you guys tonight?" Izuku was still shaking pretty hard, but was softly crying instead of sobbing.
"Of course Izu," Shota said as he picked the boy up. He held him close as he walked to the other room.
