People in robes are chanting together around an altar. The lawyer is standing near the altar, making preparations for a ritual. Supergirl is tied to the altar unconscious, though she slowly comes out of it.
"What's... what's going on?" asks a groggy Supergirl.
"We're preparing." responds the lawyer.
"Preparing for what?" again questions Supergirl, still coming out of things.
"For your ascension." responds the lawyer.
"I can fly, I don't need to ascend." suggests Supergirl.
"You do for the place that you are going." the lawyer says while he turns to Supergirl, adding, "You are a god on earth, you do too much good for this world. It doesn't deserve you. Gods deserve a higher place than this retched world. A place worthy of your greatness. A higher plane."
Several cloaked people bring in a Phantom Zone projector. Supergirl can see it despite being tied down.
"That's not a higher plane. It's a prison. I know, I was trapped in it for years." Supergirl says, concerned.
"Some times even a prison can bring great joy to many, as you do."
"Why would you take me out of a place where I'm doing so much good?" asks Supergirl.
The lawyer reveals a Kryptonite knife in his hands.
"So that you can do so much more." insists the lawyer.

Alex and Alicia are walking towards the door Supergirl and the lawyer went through.
"You really think this will work?" asks Alicia.
"They tried to recruit you right? You said you went to a few of their meetings." points out Alex, "That means at least a few of them know who you are. I'm hoping that's enough."
"And if it's not?" wonders Alicia, concerned.
Alex pulls out her gun, "Let's hope it is."
Alicia approaches the door and knocks. Alex hides just out of view with her gun ready. A man in a cloak with the hood lowered opens the door.
"Is it time? Have they started yet?" Alicia asks.
"Alicia... you're late. Everyone's already assembled." says the cloak guy, turning his back on Alicia and walks back into the warehouse. Alicia follows him.
As Alicia enters, Alex follows quickly behind and knocks cloak guy out with the butt of her gun.
"Looks like it worked." suggest Alex.
"Now we find Supergirl?" Alicia asks.
"Now we find Supergirl." confirms Alex.
Alex takes the robe off of the cloak guy and hands it to Alicia, "Put this on."
Alicia puts on the cloak. They start to go down the same path that Supergirl and the lawyer did.
"Why does Supergirl need your help? I mean, she's Supergirl." questions Alicia.
"Even Supergirl can't do everything you know." suggests Alex.
"But, you're human. Aren't you going to get hurt?" wonders Alicia.
"Doesn't mean that I'm not going to give it."
Chanting can be heard as they get closer.
"Exactly, that's what I was trying to do. Help Supergirl." points out Alicia, trying to justify herself.
Alex explains, "The difference between you and me is that I've been trained for this. I know what I'm getting myself into."
"So regular people can't help?" Alicia asks.
"Of course they can, just not the way you wanted to. What you did put people in danger." says Alex.
"Isn't that why people need to do it? Because it's dangerous? Heroes have to be willing to die for others." wonders Alicia.
Alex and Alicia get to the end of the hall. Alex looks around the corner to see a bunch of people in cloaked robes kneeling around an altar with Supergirl struggling on it.
"No heroes are going to die today. We need to get to Supergirl. Go into the crowd and see if there's a way to get to her." insists Alex, giving instructions.
"Right." Alicia says, moving down the side of the current room, hiding among the worshippers.
The lawyer reveals the Kryptonite knife in his hand, "So that you can do so much more."
Alex moves out from behind the corner. Looking up from Supergirl, the lawyer looks towards Alex, "Hello Ms. Danvers."
"Alex?" Supergirl asks weakly.
Alex raises her gun to the lawyer, "Let Supergirl go."
"I can't do that. Not until she's ascended." insists the lawyer.
"Alex get out of here." Supergirl tries.
"I'm not going to leave you here at the mercy of these lunatics." declares Alex.
"Put down the gun Ms. Danvers. Even if you did shoot me, one of the other faithful will simply finish what I started. Kara Zor-El will ascend to her rightful place. You can't stop what's about to happen." the lawyer points out.
Alicia, in her cloak, grabs the lawyer's hands with the Kryptonite knife in them, "Maybe she can't, but I'll stop you."
Alicia and the lawyer struggle with the knife over Supergirl. During the struggle, Supergirl uses her knee to hit the Lawyer's arms and Alicia manages to get the knife out of his hands, making it fly across the room. Alex tries to join the fight but the other worshippers get in her way, forcing her to fight them. Both Alicia and the lawyer go for the knife.
"Why are you doing this? You could've been one of us." the lawyer insists.
"You can't take away Supergirl. She gives people hope. She gives ME hope." Alicia fires back.
They both reach the knife at the same time, struggling for it but the lawyer is clearly stronger. With the knife far enough away, Supergirl manages to escape but still weak.
"The kind of hope that makes me want to be a hero." Alicia continues.
"You're not a hero." the lawyer says, stabbing Alicia with the knife, "You're just a sad, pathetic, lonely girl."
With her powers back Supergirl rushes over to break up the fight, throwing the lawyer into a wall and knocking him out. Supergirl kneels over Alicia but it's obviously too late to help. Alicia smiles at Supergirl.
"Did I... did I do... it? Did I finally get to be... a hero?" Alicia tries, coughing as she gets weaker.
Alex has finished with the worshippers and comes over as well.
"You did. You saved me. You were a hero." Supergirl says.
"That's all... that's all I ever..."
Alicia dies.

Kara Danvers and Mon-El are sitting next to each other on her couch.
"She sacrificed herself to save you?" Mon-El asks.
Kara just nods.
"I guess even crazy people can be heroes."
"She wasn't crazy. She was just... lost." says Kara with a sad tone, "You know, Clark used to tell me that doing what we do comes with a lot of responsibility. That it's not just about beating up the bad guys. It's about giving the good guys something to fight for. Something to really believe in. She needed something to believe in, and Supergirl gave her that. I don't think I really understood how powerful that can be until now."
"Are you going to be okay?" asks Mon-El with concern.
Kara holds up the charm bracelet Alicia gave her, "I have to be... for her."
