Chapter 124
The next day found J'onn, Alex, J'inn, M'gann and surprisingly Connor, were waiting out in the fields of the Kent family farm for Kara to bring the Justice League's starship the Javelin down from the Watchtower, since after thinking it over, Kara decided she didn't want to hear it from Karen or any of the other former Young Justice members about how M'gann was allowed on the Watchtower when none of them were.
She'd had a hard enough time convincing Karen not to come to Mars with them, since in her absence, National City would still need a super to protect it.
"Wow, this ship is incredible." M'gann as she and the others stepped into the ship.
"This ship is one of a kind. It was originally a thanagarian cruiser that Hawkman and Hawkwoman used to travel to Earth before they donated it to the League as our personal starship for any space related missions and we upgraded it with human, Kryptonian and Martian tech, not to mention future tech we scavenged from Brainy's ship. It's one of the fastest and most advanced starships in the galaxy." Kara said.
"Impressive." J'inn said, since while Alex and J'onn were used to the Javelin, since they'd been inside it before, but J'inn, M'gann and Connor hadn't yet.
"Connor, what a surprise. I didn't think you'd be tagging along." Kara said, since while she wasn't opposed to the idea, she was surprised.
"I thought M'gann could use someone else to help cover her back." Connor said as the adults exchanged knowing looks.
"Do we know for sure that Connor can survive on Mars? He's not a full kryptonian like you are Kara." M'gann suddenly asked.
"I ran tests on him while we waited for Kara. His powers might be a little weaker being closer to the sun, but he has enough Kryptonian DNA to allow him to survive on Mars." J'onn assured his niece.
"Then everyone strap in." Kara said as J'onn sat down in the copilot's seat as the others took their seats behind him.
"How long will this trip take?" Connor asked.
"Depends on the ship. When I fled Mars, it took a few hours." J'onn said.
"Whereas for us, it took a month to get to earth, since our ship didn't have a hyperdrive." J'inn said.
"And we'll get there even faster." Kara said as they cleared the Watchtower and reached safe distance before she activated the hyperdrive and took them into lightspeed.
About half an hour later, the ship dropped out of lightspeed and they saw Mars right in front of them.
"So that's Mars." Connor said, looking at the red planet.
"Home." M'gann said, remembering the last time she'd been on Mars.
"Activating the cloaking system, since we don't know what to expect." Kara said, right as all three martians flinched at something.
"What's going on?" Alex asked as she rushed to J'onn's side while Connor went to M'gann's.
"A powerful psychic signal. The same thing that sent those messages to me in the first place, just much stronger." J'onn said.
"What was it this time?" Kara asked.
"Coordinates. A place we can land." J'onn said.
"Hopefully. I do not want to tell Carter that we got his ship blown up, even though it's made out of reinforced Nth metal." Kara said.
"The voice sounds familiar, but I just can't place why." J'onn said.
"Give me the coordinates and I'll take us in." Kara said as J'onn gave her the coordinates, which she plugged into the navigation computer before taking the ship into the landing zone.
After landing the ship at the provided coordinates, the sensors immediately detected life forms coming their way.
"Did the cloaking system fail?" Alex asked, making sure her life force aura was in place to protect her from Mars' atmosphere.
"No, we're still hidden." Kara said.
"Then why do we have incoming?" Alex asked.
"I don't know, but let's try to avoid a fight if we can. M'gann, J'inn, if you two can shift back to your white martian forms, now would be the time to provide us with some kind of cover. J'onn, stay back. You're the biggest target out of all of us." Kara said and they all nodded as J'inn and M'gann shifted back to the forms they'd been born with as white martians before going outside to greet their guests, only to find about 50 white martians waiting for them.
J'inn was preparing to attack, but M'gann stopped her, since she recognized the leader.
"Can't be." M'gann said in the Martian telepathic language.
"M'gann, what is it?" J'inn asked, as the leader walked up to the younger Martian.
"M'gann, is that truly you?" the white martian asked.
"M'gann, you know this martian?" J'inn asked.
"Of course I do. He's my father. M'att M'orzz." M'gann said to J'inn's surprise.
"M'gann, my sweet girl. I wasn't expecting you to come. But did J'onn J'onzz come with you?" M'att asked.
"That depends on what the rest of these white martians are doing here with you?" M'gann asked suspiciously.
"M'gann, welcome to the White Martian resistance." M'att said and M'gann grinned as she and J'inn shifted to their green martian forms and J'inn sent a psychic message to J'onn that it was safe for the rest of them, after scanning M'att's mind psychically to make sure it wasn't a trap.
When the others arrived, J'onn had also taken his martian form as he walked alongside Kara, Alex and Connor, all of whom were fully suited up as Supergirl, Green Lantern and Superboy respectively.
"Father, I'm sure you've heard of my uncle, mother's brother J'onn J'onzz, or as he's known on Earth, the Martian Manhunter, along with my friends, Supergirl, Green Lantern and Superboy." M'gann said.
"We're honored to welcome the famed Martian Manhunter among us. And that he received my messages." M'att said to his long lost brother-in-law.
"You're the one who summoned me back to Mars. Why?" J'onn asked.
"It's something you'll need to see to believe. Come with me. I'll explain everything on our way back to base." M'att said and J'onn and M'gann nodded as they and the others followed them.
By the time they arrived at the Resistance base, M'att had brought them up to speed. After Princess J'inn and M'gann had fled Mars and M'att's wife had been killed, M'att had been inspired by J'inn's refusal to bow down to her family's extermination of the green martians and he'd rallied like minded white martians to form a resistance and the planet had been in a state of civil war ever since.
"So you brought us here to help fight the regime?" J'inn asked, happy to hear that she'd inspired other white martians to continue her fight.
"No. We brought J'onn here because of what we found when we stormed a white martian base near the D'ori'i crater. We found a prison camp for green martians" M'att said.
"There were thousands of camps." J'onn said angrily at the memories.
"This one was still in operation." M'att said, shocking them all.
"How is that possible?" Supergirl asked.
"I'm the only true Green Martian left." J'onn said.
"No, you're not. Follow me." M'att said as he led them to another chamber with a viewing room and J'onn was shocked to see three more Green Martians sitting in there. One adult and two children.
"Oh my god." J'onn said in shock.
"J'onn, who are they?" Green Lantern asked.
"My father M'yrnn and my daughters Kh'ym and T'ania." J'onn said in shock at seeing his family alive again.
