"So, your fiance is officially running for mayor of National City. What, you don't have enough titles already, you need to add being the first lady of National City to it too." Alex asked Kara as they shared wine in Kara's house living room having their monthly sister night, since thanks to the zeta tubes, Kara's powers and Alex's ring, they could travel to each other's cities for monthly sister nights with ease.

"I can't say no to her Alex. Especially when she really wants to do this and I think it would be good for her." Kara said.

"Still, are you sure that this is a good idea? After all, you really think anyone is going to vote for someone with the last name Luthor, since Lex and Lillian kind of destroyed the Luthor family name and reputation." Alex said.

"Which is why she legally changed her name to Lena Zatara, since that's her birth name anyways and she'd rather be known by that name than her adopted family name." Kara said.

"I can't blame her, but she's been known as Lena Luthor for too long. I'm not sure it would do much to change things." Alex said.

"Actually, we tested it with focus groups and it turns out that Lena renouncing the Luthor name will help her succeed. Plus, she's been wanting to change her name ever since she found out the truth about her birth family." Kara said.

"Good for her." Alex said with a smile.

"Yep. So anyways, what about you? Think you'll ever tie the knot with Felicity?" Kara asked and Alex sighed.

"Honestly, we're in such a good place right now, I haven't really thought about it." Alex said.

"Alex, you're going to need to take that step with Felicity sooner or later, since otherwise, you're going to lose her." Kara said.

Alex was prevented from answering when J'onn entered Kara's house.

"J'onn what are you doing here and why didn't you knock?" Kara asked, annoyed he just phased through her door instead knocking.

"I'm sorry, but this couldn't wait. I'm sorry to crash your sister's night, but I needed to let you both know that I'm going to be gone for a few weeks." J'onn said.

"Okay, but why did you need to do it in person?" Kara asked.

"Because I'm going offworld for a while and wanted to let you know." J'onn said.

"Offworld? Where exactly are you going?" Kara asked.

"Mars." J'onn admitted, shocking them both.

"J'onn, you can't be serious. Mars is overrun by white martians and most of them are not as refined as J'inn and M'gann. You're the last of the Green Martians, the whites have been trying to wipe you out for centuries. Why would you go back?" Kara asked.

"M'gann is only half white martian and remember, both she and J'inn chose to use the reverse engineered blood transformation process to turn them from white martians to green ones." J'onn reminded them, since both M'gann and J'inn had chosen to turn green permanently to reject the violent philosophies of the white martians.

"Still." Alex said, since she agreed with Kara.

"Lately I've been having nightmares of Mars." J'onn said.

"That's not surprising given the horrors you saw there, but that's no reason to go charging back into the hornet's nest." Kara said.

"Except they're not memories. J'inn ran some tests and it turns out that the nightmares are some kind of psychic signal, something is trying to call me back to Mars and I need to know what. J'inn, M'gann and I are prepping my ship to go and investigate." J'onn said.

"Not alone you're not." Kara said immediately.

"Kara." J'onn said.

"J'onn, if you think either of us are letting the three of you go on what could be a suicide mission alone, you're crazy. Besides, you have fought for this planet alongside us countless times. Let us help you fight for yours this once, since Alex and I are both going with you." Kara said.

"Absolutely not. You might be able to survive on Mars Kara due to your kryptonian physiology, but there's no way Alex can." J'onn said.

"Are you forgetting that I'm a Green Lantern? This is literally in my job description J'onn. Besides, Kara's right, there's no way we're letting you go back to face whatever is waiting for you on Mars alone, since there's a good chance that this could be a trap of some kind." Alex said, since her ring would easily allow her to survive on Mars.

"I'm not going to be able to talk either of you out of this am I?" J'onn asked.

"Nope." Kara said.

"But how are we going to get there, since my ship can't hold the three of us, plus J'inn and M'gann and there's no way to travel to Mars by Zeta tube or transmatter portal without another gateway on the other side and Cyborg can't boom tube us there without precise coordinates." J'onn said.

"So we'll take the Javelin. Especially since with all the modifications we've made to the League's starship, it's one of the fastest and most well fortified ships in the galaxy. I'll even give M'gann a one time pass to the Watchtower since the ship is parked in the hangar. Just give me a few hours to get things sorted out at work and let Lena know where I'm going." Kara said and J'onn nodded, since while he hadn't wanted them to come, since Alex and Kara were the closest things he had to daughters besides M'gann and he didn't want to put them at risk for something personal, but now he was glad they were coming, since it was comforting to have them with him when he finally returned to Mars to face the horrors that were waiting for him there. And to finally face his past and his cowardice for running from Mars when they needed it. It was time he faced his past and owned up to it.
