Kara was currently sitting in her office at the top of Argo Tower in National City, going over the work she'd missed while she was at Barry and Iris's wedding. Man how she loved superspeed, since it made going through these dull reports a breeze. While she loved her company and being a scientist, she did not love all the paperwork that came with it.

"Dr. Danvers." Avery said as she entered her boss's office with more paperwork.

"Thank you Avery, place them over there." Kara said, pointing to an empty section of her desk.

"Yes Ma'am. And also, I know it's last minute, but I was hoping to request some personal time next weekend for my sister's bachelorette party?" Avery asked.

"Considering this is the first time you've ever requested personal time, of course. In the past I've had to force you to take vacation time." Kara said with a smile.

"With all due respect Kara, before you met Lena, you were an even bigger workaholic than I am." Avery said with a smile, which Kara shared.

"That's because I didn't want to go home to an empty apartment, aside from Krypto of course. Now I have someone to go home to. And I hope by the time I send out the wedding invites, you'll have someone to bring with you." Kara said, smirking at Avery.

"Really, what are you, channeling my mother?" Avery asked.

"Considering the fact that she somehow got my private line and started telling me that I'm working you too hard that you don't have a life, I think I have that right. I'm still investigating how she got my private phone number in the first place." Kara said.

"Note to self, confront my mother about that. And I'm sorry about that." Avery said.

"It's fine, but if she does it again, I will have her arrested for harassment, especially if it turns out she got my phone number illegally." Kara said.

"No, I think she got it from snooping through my phone." Avery said.

"Oh, you've got one of those." Kara said and Avery nodded, but their conversation ended when Lena entered Kara's office.

"Ms. Luthor." Avery said and Lena rolled her eyes.

"Avery, how many times do I have to ask you to call me Lena. I hate my last name." Lena said.

"Give it up Lena. She's worked for me longer than we've even been friends, let alone more than that and she still calls me Ms. or Dr. Danvers." Kara said.

"As long as that title will change to Mrs. Danvers soon. For both of us, since one thing I've already decided is that the Luthor name dies when we get married, since I have every intention of taking your name." Lena said.

"And I look forward to it. But anyways, what can I do for you Lena?" Kara asked.

"I'd rather discuss it in private. No offense Avery." Lena said.

"None taken, I need to get going anyways, since I need to finish up my thesis for my Phd. Hard to believe that I'm finally going to be able to move on from being an assistant to an actual scientist." Avery said.

"And you've already got a job waiting for you here in our R&D division, since you've assisted me on numerous projects and I've vouched for you to the review board. After you find and train your replacement as my assistant." Kara said, since she was happy that Avery was finally moving on from being her assistant, since while she'd grown used to the young woman being her assistant, she knew Avery was meant for bigger and better things.

"I appreciate that Kara. Now I'll leave you two to talk." Avery said as she left them to talk.

"What's going on?" Kara asked her fiance.

"I was going to talk to you about the upcoming mayoral election." Lena said.

"Yeah, I'm already getting requests to contribute to Mayor Booker's reelection campaign, not that I have any intention of doing that." Kara said, since she hated the man, since he was a human supremacist who put the needs of the rich above the rest of the city.

"Well, how would you feel if I ran for mayor?" Lena asked, shocking Kara.

"Since when do you have an interest in politics?" Kara asked, not opposed to the idea, but surprised.

"I've been thinking about it for awhile and talking to Iris and Laurel at the wedding convinced me to do it, since we both know that the justice system here needs work. I can do more good there, redeeming the Luthor name and helping the city from inside the system." Lena said.

"I'm convinced, but you'll need to help me convince the board to back you, not to mention convince the city to vote for a Luthor, unless you want to finally change your last name to Lena Zatara after your birth parents, since unfortunately, the Luthor name is still more clearly defined by the actions of the rest of your family than yours." Kara said.

"Thank you Kara. I love being a scientist, but I think it's time I take on a new challenge. More challenging than science or magic. The world of politics." Lena said and Kara chuckled.

"You've got my vote. But now you need to come up with a pitch for the board to convince them to back you." Kara said, since if Argo Enterprises was going to bankroll Lena's potential mayoral campaign, they'd have to convince the board to support it.
