(y/n) POV

It was the middle of the night and I was in the training room. Dick had left about an hour ago to go to sleep, but I decided to stay and train more. I was throwing Bat-a-rangs at different targets around the room when I heard someone walk into the room. I smiled to myself when I recognized the sound of his footsteps.

"Hey, Conner," I said, not looking back at him.

"Hey," he replied.

"What are you doing up?"

"Couldn't sleep, plus I heard you in here."

"Super hearing?"

"Yeah. Why are you up?"

"I'm normally up this late. Some nights, I can't sleep, so I'm up later."

"You train in the middle of the night?"

"What better way to let off some steam and reflect on the day."

There was a pause.

"You doing okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"During our training session you seemed off."

"I'm not used to fighting with holograms."

"How come? They're pretty easy to hit."

"If you can see them," I muttered, "then yes. I can't sense them."

"What do you mean?" I froze for a moment, realizing he had heard me. "Hey, you alright?"

"I will be, yeah."

There was another pause in the room. I threw another Bat-a-rang at a target, hearing it land.

"You feel like sparring?" Conner asked me, walking further into the room.

"You up for it?" I asked, raising an eyebrow and turning to face him.

"Why not. I have nothing better to do right now."

"Alright, then. When you're ready."

I heard him lunge at me suddenly. I quickly moved to the side and swung my leg at him. He raised his arm and blocked it.

Conner and I sparred for almost an hour before we decided to stop. I sat down on a bench and pulled my hair out of its ponytail.

"What did you mean earlier?" Conner asked suddenly.

I looked up in his direction.

"I don't know what you mean."

"You said it's hard to 'sense' holograms. What did you mean?"

I sighed. Not even on the team for a day and someone already knows I have a secret.

"I'm blind," I said quietly, "making my other senses stronger. I can sense people around me, not light.

"That's why you were hesitant to train earlier."

"Yeah."

"So you can't see anything?"

"No. That's kinda the definition of being blind," I chuckled. "I can only sense things. It's weird. I can hear a person's heart beat, sense their movements, but I don't know what anyone or anything looks like. I have a faint idea of what my brother and Batman look like, but I don't know what people truly look like."

"How do you can an idea of what people look like?"

"Well, I can tell what someone looks like by their facial structure."

"What?"

I laughed a little.

"It's kinda hard to explain. It's easier to show someone, though it can be a little weird and still hard to explain."

Conner didn't speak for a minute. I heard him walk closer to where I was sitting.

"Can you show me?" he asked, sounding slightly unsure.

"Are you sure?"

"Sure."

I moved over on the bench and I heard him sit down next to me. I rotated myself so I was facing him. I lifted my hands and slowly moved them until I touched Conner's face. I felt him jumped slightly at the contact. I smiled a little as I moved my fingers slowly over his face.

Conner's jaw was almost square, much different from Dick's jaw. His hair was short and fell a little bit over his forehead. I raised an eyebrow slightly as I finished.

"What?" he asked.

"Are you always mad?" I asked him.

"Kinda. A lot of things tend to annoy me."

"Well, you should try to smile more. A smirk could even do you some good." I could feel a smirk work its way onto Conner's face from under my fingers. I laughed. "There we go." I removed my hands from his face and stood up. "I think I'm going to head to bed."

"Probably a good idea. Who knows what Canary will make us do tomorrow in training."

I smiled as we walked out of the room.

"You even sound happier when you smile, Conner." He chuckled. "Listen, Conner. I'd rather you don't tell the others that I'm blind. I'd rather keep it hidden for now. I don't need people thinking that I can't handle myself because I can't see."

"Sure thing, (y/n). I'm not sure who else would notice, though. You're pretty good at hiding it."

"Well, I have been doing that for most of my life. I even did it when I was apart of the Flying Grayson's with Dick."

I shuddered at the memory.

"You okay?" Conner asked.

"Yeah, I'm good. I was just remembering something." We reached my bedroom door. "Thanks for the duel tonight, Conner."

"No problem. I might consider doing that again."

"Well, the gym is always open and I'm normally up. Night, Conner."

"Night, (y/n)."
