Cheshire POV
In a flash of white, I found myself transported to my old bedroom. Dad, (y/n), Tigress, and Aqualad were here too. Miss Martian suddenly began floating down from the ceiling.
"How dare you?" I growled. "What gives you the right to invade my mind and steal this memory from our childhood."
"This isn't your memory, Jade," Tigress said. "It's mine." Miss Martian waved her hand. Aqualad's suit appeared on his body. My mask disappeared from my face, along with Dad's. I stared when Tigress turned into Artemis. "I'm alive. I'm here."
"Look," the martian said. My mouth fell open when I saw Artemis fighting Aqualad. Suddenly, his sword molded around her body. "Aqualad did not kill Artemis." Another image showed Artemis, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Nightwing and (y/n) together. Nightwing put a necklace around Artemis's neck that changed her appearance. "She only pretended to be dead so she could become Tigress and join Aqualad's deep cover mission to infiltrate the Light and the Reach."
"You're alive," I said to my sister, still in shock.
"I'm alive," she answered. "So you don't need to take vengeance of Kaldur."
"I guess I don't. You so dodged a bullet, fish boy."
"We appreciate the cooperation," he said.
"Are you serious?" Dad asked. "You're not really buying this? It's some kind of martian illusion. Artemis is still dead and I still have my rep to preserve."
"Come on, crusher," I said, dragging his towards Artemis. "Artemis is your daughter."
"Can't you feel her presence here?" (y/n) asked him, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I don't even feel your presence here," Dad replied.
"He's hopeless," I said. "And I don't know why I'm surprised."
"Release us," Artemis said. "I'll convince him."
"Good luck with that."
With that, Artemis and Dad disappeared. I looked at (y/n).
"What I'm still confused about is why you hid this from us," I said. "Artemis is our sister and she was alive this whole time!"
"I had my reasons, sis," she replied. "If you want, I'll explain everything later, but right now, we still have a few things to take care of."
Almost as soon as we were out of our mind link, Manta and I were thrown against the wall by Miss Martian. (y/n) stood up and moved to stand next to her. Miss Martian floated towards us.
"I realize, Cheshire, that we'll probably never be friends."
"You can leave out the probably," I heard (y/n) chuckle in my mind.
"But we all want to keep your sister safe."
"So we play it out," I say. "You start."
"Well, Cheshire," Miss Martian said, "I don't usually condone the behavior of assassins, but given the way Manta's treated me the last few weeks..."
"The enemy of your enemy is your friend," I said.
"Exactly." She waved her hand, releasing me from the air. "Make your escape. I'll buy all the time you need."
"It's not that simple. I still want Aqualad and Manta dead."
"Leave that to me. I insist."
"Come on, Chesh," (y/n) said. "I suggest we take her advice. Miss M isn't one to mess with." I grabbed my sword, which had floated in the air. I headed towards the door, (y/n) moving after me. She paused briefly to look at the martian. "I'll see you back with the Team," she said before taking off after me.
