Mutation
A guardian angel. A hero.
Kara Parker had saved an entire plane, including her new parents and family. When she returned to the X-Mansion, all the news broadcasts were talking about her. Every reporter. Every news broadcast was talking about the guardian angel that saved their lives.
"Oh my god!" Kara cheered as she squealed.
Once she made it to her bedroom, she let out all of her excitement about the talk she's received.
When she made it there, Rogue was also there and ran to her friend. "Oh my god! Did you...?"
"Yes!" Kara said, getting excited, and hugged her friend, trying not to touch her bare skin. "I still can't believe I did it!"
"Yeah, a lot of others here can't believe it either," Rogue admitted, looking at her suit. "Where the heck did you even get this suit?"
Kara became giddy, thinking back to the Fortress of Solitude. "My birth mother gave it to me!"
Rogue was shocked to hear that. "Your...mother? Your dead mother?"
"It's a bit hard to explain, but she put her brain inside of a crystal from our home," Kara explains the best she could to her friend. But that only confused her a lot more. "How about I introduce you to her? It'll make sense then."
"Will it?" Rogue was skeptical about that promise.

While Kara was rescuing the plane, Peter was on his way to his aunt May's home. While on the way there, his powers were becoming worse and harder to keep in control.
His head was buzzing, every moment he turned around, he didn't know what the buzzing was leading him to. It was like his head was alerting him of everyone that was around him.
"What the heck?" Peter asked, looking around to see his vision alter. "What is going on?"

Richard and Mary managed to get a private ride to Washington after the crash. But that didn't stop them from getting an earful of words from Fury, regarding their rescuer.
"So, a girl just came swooping in, and out of the many problems in the world, to save the plane that you two just managed to be on?" Fury asked the two of them. "Any idea who she is?"
Knowing that if Fury got word of where to find Kara, he would take her away from them and treat her like an asset, not like a child. Kara was their responsibility. They promised to keep her safe and planned to let her live her own life.
"Nope." Richard immediately answered.
"Never met her before," Mary added on top of her husband's answer.
Fury looked at the two and watched their faces for anything and shrugged it off. "Fine. Get going. You have some kids waiting, last I remember."
"Thank you, Sir," Richard said as he and May quickly made their way out of the office.
But Fury just looked over to Maria Hill, who was standing in silence the entire time. "I want someone keeping their eyes on them. They're not telling us everything."
"Understood, sir." Hill agreed and walked off to get it done.
Richard and Mary walked off through the halls and didn't even speak until they reached the elevators. They wanted to be alone and knew that the entire building was bugged, all except for the elevator. When it arrived, the two of them quickly stepped inside and allowed the doors to close.
"So... we gonna talk about it?" Mary asked her husband, who didn't even know what to say or think. "The longer we wait-"
"She could be discovered." Richard immediately let go. "This is... bigger. The world knows she exists."
"What did you think would eventually happen? She'd just hide her powers from the world for her whole life?" Mary asked him.
"I figured that we would let her control these powers first, then decide on what came next," Richard explained how he thought this was going to go down.
"Well, seems what came after she learned how to control it was a costume and saving our lives." Mary recapped what happened.
"She did do that, didn't she?" Richard started to grow proud of his daughter. "How's May handling Krypto?"
"Oh, I think she's in love with the dog," Mary said with a smile.
"It's weird to see that dog have the same powers as our daughter just acting like a normal animal," Richard commented.
"Our neighbors are robot androids, and that's the part you are having a hard time believing?" Mary questions him with a smile.
"Fair enough," Richard said with a sigh. "But we need to have a word with Kara when we get home."
"Knew that was coming." Mary sighed.

Kara flew into the Artic once again, this time with Rogue alongside her, and the two of them made it inside her Cave of Wonders. She's still working on exactly what to call it, and that was the best that she could come up with.
Not to mention that Aladdin was her favorite of the Disney movies she's seen as of yet.
"Whoo! That was...fast!" Rogue had never moved that fast in her life. "So... where are we?"
"My personal Cave of Wonders," Kara said, speeding off to quickly change and return in her suit. "What do you think?"
"On the Cave, the name, or the suit?" Rogue asks and looks over her Super suit. "Because the suit looks cooler than an ice cream in a snow fest."
Kara took a moment to try and understand what the heck that even meant before shrugging it off. "Thanks. I guess."
"The Cave needs a bit of work with the name," Rogue commented and looked around. "Not crazy about the strange design either. Looks like a ratcatcher maze was merged with an ice cream factory."
"Welcome back, Kara." Kara's mother AI came to live, scaring Rogue and causing her to shriek. "And you brought a friend with you?"
"This is my roommate, Anna Marie Rogue." Kara introduced her mother to her friend. "Rogue, this is my mother. Alura In-Ze."
"Greetings, Anna Marie." Alura greeted the girl with a smile.
"This is so weird," Rogue said as she walked over and moved her hand through the hologram. "It's a robot?"
"A hologram," Kara said as she crossed her arms. "Containing her entire memories and history of my home world."
"Wow." Rogue was amazed to hear as she backed off the hologram.
"I had gotten word on what you did," Alura tells Kara with a smile. "I am so proud of you."
Kara then grew a smile and blushed at the praise from her mother. Even if it was just her holographic form, it still meant the world to her to hear those words.
"Thanks, mom," Kara said as her hearing started to pick up someone whimpering and took a moment to realize who it was. "Peter?"
Then just like that she blasted off and flew off to New York, leaving Rogue alone with her mother. Rogue was shocked to see her blast off and looked back and forth between the exit and Alura.
"So... now what?" Rogue asks Alura.

Back in New York, a few muggers were chasing a man down an alleyway as he cried for help. But nobody was starting to be out this late after the past few months and the constant invasions from Mermaids, Aliens, and just about everything.
When the man who was running away from the attackers tripped on a box, he fell, and the attackers had the chance to catch up. They then pulled out a gun on the man and gestured to his pockets.
"Wallet. Now." Their leader demanded.
Just then, the alley started to light up and caused them to look towards what was causing the glow. What they saw strolling down was Carol Danvers wearing the same swimsuit with the lighting emblem on it and black boots. She also sports a red scarf around her waist and black gloves, as well as a similar colored mask that covered her eyes.
"Hello, boys." Carol greeted them, holding two glowing hands of energy in her hands.
"Who the hell are you supposed to be, kid?" The second guy asks her.
"Yeah, Halloween was three months ago." The last one of them informed her.
"Me?" Carol asked as she looked herself over. "I'm a work in progress!"
Carol then sent one of the energy balls towards one of them, hitting him in the chest and sending him flying into the wall. As he hit the wall, someone came flying down and landed just beside Carol.
Koriand'r came down wearing her suit which was her one-piece bathing suit, with it covering the essential area. But it was also revealing a lot of her chest and stomach going over her shoulders and going down to her waist. Using her energy also reverted her skin to its light shade of orange, allowing her to keep her identity hidden.
"And I am...do I get a super-secret codename?" Kori asks her friend.
"We're still working on that part," Carol said as one of them pulled a gun on the two. "You wanna do the honors?"
"Oh, yes, I would love to be doing of the honors," Kori said as she raised her fists.
The energy started to form in her fists, similar to Carol's, followed by her eyes glowing green in the process. When she released a blast of energy, it sent the last two robbers flying and smashing into the wall.
Carol then looked at the man on the ground. "Get out of here."
He then got up and ran off as the two kids looked at the robbers getting back up. The girls stood back-to-back and watched as the four of them tried to circle the kids. Carol looked to Kori and smiled as the two raised their fists once again, ready to take them all down as the energy came into their fists.

Back with Peter, he was walking just down the street from May's when his head started to buzz once again. His entire body started to hurt. He was feeling like his stomach was being twisted into knots. Peter fell against the wall and held his head and felt like he was having a massive headache. Whimpering, he tried to get it together to get to May's, but it was no use as his entire body was morphing.
That's how he was when Kara flew and landed on the street when she ran over to her brother. "Peter, what happened?"
"I...I don't know." Peter cried out, trying to talk through the pain. "Something's wrong."
Kara quickly did an x-ray scan of her brother and didn't see anything wrong with him, only making her wonder more about what was wrong. She then quickly picked him up and sped them down the street towards May's home.
Krypto was there to greet them as Kara realized she needed to quickly change and just spun in place, swapping her clothes around. Her suit was underneath her clothing, and her cape was curled and tucked into her skirt so it would blend in.
"What's wrong?" May asks as she helped Peter and Kara come in.
"I don't know, I found him like this," Kara said as they helped Peter onto the couch. "I think he just ate something bad."
"Don't worry, we've got you." May comforted Peter as he was trying to fight through the pain.

Back at LexCorp, Luthor was watching the news footage that was able to capture sight of the strange, powered woman who managed to save the plane. She somehow not only knew that the plane was going to go down but managed to get there at unprecedented speed. Somehow managed to make it there and also managed to lift the plane to slow down its momentum to the point it didn't crash.
"Who are you, Supergirl?" Lex wonders, watching as Kara stood proud after saving the plane. "And what was on that plane that was so important?"
Then he pulled up the footage of Richard and Mary on their way back to New York.
"Could there be a connection?" Lex questioned himself, knowing these two are loose ends that need to be taken care of.

DEEP SPACE...
Meanwhile, in deep space, a giant portal exited just outside of the now-destroyed Krypton. It was a gigantic prison that was sent into the Phantom Zone, which housed several of the last remnants of Krypton.
A woman walked and drilled to her knees at what she saw. Then a few of the other inhabitants walks over and places his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
"We must not give up hope. Kara Zor-El survived. We must learn where she was sent." General Dru Zod said as he marched towards the computers on board. "And find the CodeX stored on her capsule."
