Gotham

Hal and the Parademon fell into a sign and caused an explosion, followed by a fire surrounding them. The Parademon picked him up and snarled at his face before punching it.

"You're gonna have to do better than that!" Hal dared the Parademon as it did exactly what he dared and sent Hal flying into another building and sliding across it. "Okay, that was better."

The Parademon then flew in for another go just as the Parademon is kicked in the face and sent flying by the Batman. The caped crusader was on his usual parole, searching for the missing people that have been abducted by people who they all believe to be Batman.

He tackled the Parademon this time and held it down and began questioning it. "What were you doing at the docks? I want answers!"

The Parademon doesn't answer, and his mouth turned into a raging fire, which Batman quickly tried to avoid, but the creature caused an explosion that sent batman fly into the side of the building roof.

Before the Parademon could finish him off however, the Green Lantern created a train which rammed the Parademon and knocked him out.

Hal then flew over to the Dark Knight in surprise. "Batman? You're real?"

"Turn it off." Batman demanded, regarding the ring's light.

"I had him." Hal informed him.

"Clearly. Now turn off the damn light before they see us." Batman demanded him, only confusing Hal.

"Who?" Hal asks just as several police helicopters approach them.

"This is Gotham PD, put your hands in the air."

Hal did as they asked and raised his hands. "They don't like us very much."

"The worlds afraid of us." Bruce stated.

"You say that like it's a good thing." Hal replied to that.

"It's necessary." Bruce informed him before they heard a noise and noticed the Parademon wasn't dead yet.

It spewed more fire our, causing Bruce to tackle Hal out of the way as the creature took to the skies as Batman raced to chase him.

"Take your glow stick and go home." Bruce tells Hal and shoots the Parademon with a grapple gun while Hal chases after him. "Gotham's mine."

"No, see, this entire space sector is my beat." Hal informed Batman. "I'm Green Lantern." He then quickly created a bear-trap which the Parademon avoided and continued to fly through the city.

Batman held onto the grapple as long as he could whilst the Parademon flew throughout the city. The Parademon tries to lose them using its fire breath, but Hal created a shield to protect them.

Bruce then shot a second grapple at a building and connected the two of them, causing the Parademon to become more infuriated as or broke the roof and continued to fly throughout the city.

Bruce luckily used this to try and tackle the demon creature as Hal finally caught it by its wings, but it just ripped them from I own body and landed on a car, causing an explosion to mask its escape.

"So what's it doing in Gotham?" Hal asks as he and Bruce made it to the ground.

"Witnesses spotted this thing trying to plant some kind of bomb downtown. When the cops confronted it, it spewed fire form its mouth." Bruce informed him and dropped into the sewers as Green Lantern followed.

New York

Oh, morning in the family household. It can be described in many words.

But there is one word that is most likely going to appear on everyone's list: Chaotic.

Now imagine how it feels when your sister, just a few months younger than you, has the ability to make it an even more of a hassle. How would you feel?

Hypothetical, of course. Unless you're Peter Parker.

"Kids, wake up! You're going to be late!" Mary called out to the kids from downstairs.

Peter groaned awake, suddenly jumping out of bed with fear. As he raced to the door, down the hall, Kara has awoken with a jittery tone and walked up to the doors calmly.

As the two siblings both reached their doors, the two suddenly stopped and stared at the opposing sibling, both of them eyeing the bathroom. They've learned their father usually takes forever on the downstairs bathroom to get ready to leave in the morning. Meaning it's become a race to the bathroom in the morning.

Peter quickly sped walked down the hall, knowing his mom doesn't like them running, but that doesn't mean Kara can't speed zoom. She does exactly that and beats him to the bathroom.

"Kara! Come on! We said no super speed in the house!" Peter cried.

"Peter!" Mary called up.

"I'm sorry, it's annoying!" Peter declared.

"Hence why I do it so much." Kara said through the bathroom door before he heard the toilet flush followed by the sink turning on and off and her walking out. "Also, I'm much faster than you."

Peter groaned and used the bathroom himself whilst Kara got ready for the day.

Kara was the first downstairs and saw Mary was getting her things together. "Where's your brother?" She asks Kara.

"Using the bathroom." Kara said as she sat down at the table to quickly eat.

"Did you finish your advanced calculus last night?" Mary asks Kara as she double checks she has everything.

"Yeah, it's kinda funny it's called that, considering on Krypton, we did all of this at four years old." Kara commented as Mary rolled her eyes and walked over to peck her on the head.

"At least that means it's all going to be easy for you." Mary commented as they already know Peter's thriving in calculus, due to the fact he's already shown to be a genius like his parents. "How are you doing in history?"

Kara sighed and rolled her eyes at that question. "I really don't understand why I have to go through all of this. It's not like I need to know who did what 1743."

"You're going on school to be around kids your age, try to fit in a little. Have a normal childhood." Mary explains to her.

"Yeah, but I'm not normal. Didn't you say I was bulletproof?" Kara reminded her.

"Theoretically." Mary replied. "We're not exactly planning on shooting you to find out. If you are going to live here on Earth, you need the education of a human, as anything from Krypton won't get you anywhere on Earth due to the fact we had to keep your real life a secret." She explains and grabs the car keys just as Peter joined them. "Morning, honey."

"Morning." Peter said unenthusiastically, still a bit tired, as he began to eat.

"Okay, uh, quick little side note, you kids are going to be watched over by Ben and May tonight. Your father and I have an appointment to get to tonight." Mary tells them while searching through her purse.

"Is everything okay?" Kara asks.

"Yeah, everything's fine, I just need to get something checked out." Mary tells them as Richard finally enters the room.

"Hey, kids. How's everything?" Richard asks as he gave the two kids his annual morning hug.

"Same as before." Kara whispers.

"Well, come on, we better get going." Mary gestured them to get out the door as they grabbed their bags.

Everyone made their way out and none of them noticed that there was something in the trash: a positive pregnancy test.

Gotham sewers

"Yeah, well, fires not a problem for me." Hal stated to Bruce as they searched for the Parademon in the sewers. "We Green Lanterns can do anything."

"Except shut up, apparently." Bruce replied.

"Wow. Someone forgot to take their true blood tonight." Hal joked back.

"I'm not a vampire." Bruce informed him, unimpressed.

"Seriously?" Hal asked in shock. "I thought with the darkness, and the vanishing, then the what super strength?"

"No." Bruce stated as they continued to search, and Hal wouldn't stop asking questions.

"Can you fly?" Hal asked.

"In a plane." Bruce stated.

"Wait. You're not just some guy in a bat costume, are you?" Hal questions in confusion as Bruce turned to him and gave a smug smile, shocking Hal even more. "Are you freaking kidding me?! What? Nobody asked you to prom so now you dress as a bat and prow around your parents' basement?"

Bruce then raised his hand to reveal he's holding Hal's ring. "What's this do?"

Hal's costume then vanished and left him exposed in his Air Force uniform, making him even more confused how he didn't realize Batman stole his ring.

"No buttons. I assume it works off concentration." Bruce took the assumption as he walked down the tunnel.

"How's you do that?" Hal asked him.

"You weren't concentrating." Bruce said smugly when the ring flew out of his fingers and back onto Hal, causing his Green Lantern suit to return.

"You won't do that again." Hal promised.

"Unless I want to." Bruce said and before Hal could say anything, he raised his hand to silence him, and they heard chittering coming from the tunnels.

Down the said tunnel, the Parademon removed something that looked like four boxes merged together with a giant red spot in the center. It placed the box to a wall and hit the red button when the two of them found it.

"Hold fast. We need more info." Bruce said as they watched the box began to glow.

"Bull crap. That's a bomb, and he just armed it." Hal stated as he flew in, despite Bruce's protests.

Hal flew up to him when the Parademon noticed him. "For Darkseid." It then exploded, causing Hal to work fast and create a safe to protect the two of them from the explosion.

Hal then opened the door to the safe and was seriously confused as to what Darkseid meant.

"Dark side? Is this thing a fan of Star Wars or something?" Hal asks as they approach the wall.

"Some kind of death cry." Bruce stated as he looked over the box. "It wanted to take us with it, all to protect this."

"I'm on it." Hal said and raised his ring to the device. "Ring. Scan and identify." The ring then scanned it and Hal was shocked by the results. "Unable to identify? That's impossible. The ring knows what the Guardians know, and the Guardians know everything."

Bruce then decided to give it his own go and scanned it. "It doesn't scan like a bomb, more like an alien computer."

"Alien? Could it have anything to do with that person they found in the Arctic?" Hal questioned.

"You mean Captain America?" Bruce asked him.

"Wait, that was Captain America?!" Hal asked, shocked to hear the World War Two hero was living and breathing. "I leave the planet for one week and I miss everything!"

"He probably has nothing to do with this. The last time he was outside, it was 1945." Bruce stated and turned to face the device. "In the meantime, we need to know more about this thing."

School

Kara was in the middle of class and was just doodling in her book and scribbling down the House of El symbol when the teacher called her out.

"Miss Parker?" Mr. Harrington called her out.

Kara suddenly broke out of her concentration and faced the teacher. "Sorry, what did you say?"

"Who was the general of the Continental army during the Revolutionary War?" Mr. Harrington asks her.

"Washington?" Kara asks, no idea what to answer with. "Isaiah Washington?"

"Creative, I'll give you that." Harrington comments before looking behind her. "Miss Danvers?"

"George Washington was the leader during the War, which spanned from 1775 to 1783." Carol Danvers answered behind Kara with a smile.

"Bravo, Miss Danvers." Harrington says and turns to the front of the class.

"It's on the back of the book." Carol whispers to Kara, giving her a helpful hand as she looked and saw that all of his questions have the answers on the back.

STAR Labs

A group of scientists were currently working on another version of the same box Batman and Green Lantern discovered.

"Nothing on the markings of the design, Betty?" The head scientist asks.

"No, Dr. Banner." Betty Ross confirmed.

"Dozens of tests, and we're still unable to learn a single thing." Bruce commented. "We know less now than when Iron Man brought it to us days ago."

"Maybe we'll find something useful on the metal scan." Betty looked on the bright side just as the computer went off.

IDENTIFICATION ERROR
METAL UNKNOWN

"So much for that theory." Bruce commented as he removed his glasses and wiped the sleep from them.

"You've been working a lot of late nights, Bruce. Maybe you should get some rest." Betty tells him.

"I'll rest after we learned what this is and what that creature was doing trying to plant it in New York." Bruce said as he gestured to another Parademon. "Now run over what we do know as of now."

"It's broadcasting a signal." Betty said as she clicked a few buttons and pulled up several locations up over the globe. "And there are several similar signals coming from National City, Gotham, and off the coast of New Jersey."

"Meaning it's talking to someone." Bruce took the wild assumption.

School

Kara was in gym class with Coach Wilson on the rope climbing test.

"Ms. Bowen, Ms. Parker. You're up." Coach Wilson called them over to the ropes.

Tandy Bowen strolled up to the rope as did Kara and they both looked at each other.

Tandy has long blond hair and blue eyes, is of average height for someone their age, just slightly towering Kara by a hair and voluptuous yet athletic but well-toned build.

"Go!" Wilson cried and the two raced up the rope and Kara was the first to make it with Tandy just a second behind her. As they made it to the top of the rope, they both dropped down and landed on their feet as if it were nothing.

"Nice skills." Tandy compliments Kara and strolled off.

Next came lunch, where Kara and Peter were currently getting their food and talking to Tyrone.

"So did you hear Tony Stark was turning on his tower today?" Tyrone Johnson, Peter's friend, told them.

"What? No! Really?" Peter asked in amazement.

"Yeah." Tyrone confirmed. "Said it's just a prototype for his revolutionary power source."

"Isn't that the tower powered by that Arc Reactor is a power source designed by Howard Stark and Anton Vanko in an attempt to replicate the unknown energy source? Similar to the miniaturized chest-piece version that was perfected by Tony Stark and is the thing keeping him alive?" Kara asked them.

"Man, it's no wonder why your parents adopted her." Tyrone stated jokingly, causing the siblings to laugh as they took a seat at their usual table. "The very same."

Kara was listening to them, but then felt her hearing enhancing and hearing some girls laughing, followed by another crying in pain.

"Kara, you good?" Peter asked.

Kara suddenly shook herself free of her hearing and turned to Peter. "Sorry. Yes. I just need to go to the bathroom." She said and got up and left the two of them.

"What was that about?" Tyrone questioned.

"When you gotta go, you gotta go." Peter shrugged.

Kara made it to the bathroom where she saw a group of girls picking on someone.

"For someone so smart, you're really stupid, aren't you, Jones?" One of the girls stated and pushed her into the stall.

"What, you need your mommy to save you?" Another of them mocked.

"Hey!" Kara called them out and just as they noticed someone else was there, they left the girl be.

Kara walked over to the girl and saw her hands tangled within her fire red hair and shuttering in fear.

"Hi, are you okay?" Kara asked as she stepped down to help her up. "My names Kara, what's yours?"

"An...Anjelica." She whispered in fear and looked up at the girl who helped her. "Anjelica Jones."

"That's a nice name. I'm Kara. Kara Parker." Kara introduced herself.

"Parker? Are you related to Peter?" Anjelica asked.

"You know my brother?" Kara asked her.

"Not personally, but we're in a few classes together." Anjelica explains.

"Hey, have you had lunch yet?" Kara wondered.

"No. Those girls stole my food money." Anjelica said sadly.

"Well, come with me. I can share what I've got." Kara offered Anjelica sincerely and helped her stand up and led her out of the bathroom.

Washington, D.C.

Just outside the White House, two limousines pulled up to a crowd of both cheers protesters.

"What is going on out there?" Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, questioned.

"Seems like nothing's changed here." Steve Rodgers, Captain America, commented as this was his first time out in the real world since his thaw from the ice.

"A lot has changed, but human stupidity just seems to have grown over the years." Nick Fury, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. agreed with him.

They then felt someone walk on the roof of their car. Outside, an elder man holding a stuffed Wonder Woman hanging on a rope.

"These so called heroes cost America over 100 million dollars in property damage. Who's gonna pay for that? Us regular people, that's who!"

Diana then had enough of this and opened the door.

"Diana-" Steve tried to stop her just as Diana exited the vehicle and aimed her sword at the man on the roof.

"You. What is your problem with me?" Diana questioned him sternly.

"You want the truth? You swing that sword with a smile, and you scare normal people." He stated and causing the street to erupt, but Diana wasn't convinced.

Quickly, she used her lasso of truth and wrapped it around him. "That's not your truth. The lasso compels you. Now tell me the truth."

The man then became dead eyed as the truth comes out naturally. "I cross dress in a Wonder Woman outfit, it makes me feel powerful."

Steve and Fury climb out of the car and were both a little confused as to what they saw as Diana laughed before removing the lasso.

"Embrace your truth, my friend." Diana said as she wrapped her lasso back up. "It makes me feel powerful, too."

"We better get going." Fury told the two of them.

"Yes, let's." Diana agreed and followed Fury as Steve took in the sight.

"Feels like yesterday I was just here." Steve commented on the last time he was here it was as a publicity stunt for soldiers. Now he's here as a true Captain.
