Secrets
Rosalina's POV:
...
...
...
Well... I can't say that was expected...
I don't know if anyone else saw, but I'm pretty sure at least you saw Bowser's red glowing eyes too. I don't know how that happened, there's no way, unless, it's...
Dark Magic.
The same as the Dark Star and Dark Star Rod. But, how would that... This is a very confusing and concerning event nonetheless unless he decided to pour glow stick fluid in his eyes for a prank, but that would be unlikely, painful, and just plain foolish and absurd. There's still some time left of lunch, I'll go check on him...
... Well, I was...
...Until Lavanne grabbed my arm, that is. Her face held anger and concern.
Lavanne: Where are you going?
Rosalina: I don't have to tell you.
Lavanne: And I don't have to let you through.
She stands in between me and the lunchroom doors, blocking my exit.
Rosalina: Please let me through!
Lavanne: Then tell me: Where are you going?
Rosalina: To a room.
Lavanne: Who's room?
Rosalina: I told you where I was going already. To a room!
Lavanne: Specify, or you aren't going through these doors.
Rosalina: What if you don't like the answer?
Lavanne: Just. Tell. Me. Who.
Rosalina: Fine. *Sigh* Bowser's room. Why do you want to know?
She just stood there, staring at me with her jaw dropped.
Rosalina: Can I go now?
Lavanne: Why do you want to see... him?
Rosalina: You said you'd let me through if I told you who, but now you want to know why?
I tried to walk around her, but she kept in front of me, so I make a dash to the exit on the other side of the room. She still caught up, no matter how fast I sprinted, despite her wearing high heels. I then skidded to a stop and ran back to the first exit. Lavanne tried to follow me, be high heels aren't the best for running or skidding to stop in. She landed weirdly on her foot and went tumbling down. Before she could catch herself, she crashed into the floor, face first, giving me the time to run out before she could even get up.
When I was out, I didn't go straight to his room though. I took the first left I saw, and then another, so I was concealed behind the wall. Then I heard Lavanne dashing down the hall, screaming, "Get back here!" In between breaths. Then, I heard a pounding on a door. Possibly mine, or Bowser's. Then I heard it open. Either someone snuck into my room, or she knocked on Bowser's, thinking I was there, which I wasn't. Then, I heard voices. Not Bowser's, thankfully. They were around the pitch of my voice, and there were two. I immediately knew who they were: Peach and Daisy.
Why would she go to them? Maybe she thought I went to them for cover. Then I heard Lavanne say, "Let's split up. We'll find her quicker. I can't wait to make her pay for ruining me and my clothes."
I almost panic, but I catch my self; Panicking would only make this the worst it could be. Then I heard footsteps coming this way.
Correction: This, would make it the worst it could be!
I turn to run, but there was a dead end.
I was trapped.
I huddle in the corner hoping not to be seen, even though there are ceiling lights every two feet away, exposing me like a bright shining star bit. Then, the figure comes around the corner. She wasn't wearing high heels, or anything fancy, either. It was Daisy, walking towards me. She spots me, and before I could whisper, "Don't." She yelled, "She's over here!" Then, she whispered, "I'm sorry, I can't betray... Them." Just loud enough so I could hear. I know why she paused, because if she said "friends", then that would mean me too. When she saw the hurt in my eyes, she looked away. Then I hear the rushed clacking of high heels approaching. Then, they appeared, and when they saw me, they grinned, making me shudder, which, in turn, made them laugh.
Lavanne: Not so tough now, are we?
Peach: You'll pay for what you did to her, right?
Lavanne: Right!
Daisy: Right...
Then, they started walking towards me, slowly, but dramatically. Then, I did the one thing I could think of. I dashed and shoved Lavanne into Peach, making them both collide into the wall, and Daisy went to go help them, looked at me, and silently mouthed, "Go to him." And I did.
I ran faster than I ever ran, thankful I don't care about clothes or fashion, because high heels would've slowed me down. Then, I reach his room, and skid to a stop. I heard the scratching of a pencil on paper, so I knew he wasn't busy because we didn't have any writing or drawing assignments yet. I rapidly knocked on his door, hoping he would answer it. I heard his pencil stop, and heavy footsteps. The door opened, revealing Bowser and his room, which was surprisingly neat and organized. When he fully opened it, I went barreling inside and under his bed, and he got suspicious, quick.
Bowser: What are you doing?
Rosalina: Hiding, now shh!
Bowser: From who?
Rosalina: Listen, close the door, and if Lavanne, Peach, and Daisy, or anyone, comes for me, tell them I'm not here!
Bowser: Why-
Rosalina: Just do it! Please!
Bowser closes the door, but he's still really annoyed. Now, instead of being in pursuit of two and a half monsters (The half monster being Daisy), I was now in the dorm of the beast. But before he could say anything, there was another knock on the door, to my partial relief. This time, he answered it to Lavanne, Peach, and Daisy.
Lavanne: Is Rosalina here?
I hoped with all my might that he wouldn't reveal me in my hiding place.
Bowser: Why would she be here, Lavanne?
Lavanne: She said she would go here, Bowser!
Bowser: Well, go away.
Lavanne: Well that isn't polite! Let me see!
Bowser: You've already seen enough!
I was thankful he was playing along, and also kind of amazed at how he was keeping her away without lying.
Daisy: Let me handle this.
Bowser: But I sai-
Daisy: ¡No te preocupes, grandote, esto sólo tomará un segundo! *Wink*
Bowser: Uh...
I was too panicked to know what that meant, but Bowser let her in and locked the door on the others.
She looked everywhere else in the room, and then she looked at me. She knew. She saw the fear in my eyes and grinned. But this one was warm and welcoming.
Daisy: Don't worry, I'm not gonna tell them.
Rosalina: !?! Uh... Tha-
Daisy: Don't mention it. Literally, too. If they found out I lied, we would both be busted! Now bye!
She left, the room telling the others that I wasn't there. After I was sure they were far enough, I got out, I went to the door, but Bowser grabbed my arm.
Rosalina: I'm guessing you still want answers, huh?
Bowser: Yeah, so why were they after you?
Rosalina: Because I was trying to leave the lunchroom, but she was blocking me, so I faked her out and she tripped, fell, and ruined her clothes.
Bowser: And why was she blocking you?
Rosalina: Because... Because I said I was going to your room.
Bowser: And you wanted to come here because?
Rosalina: Because wanted to check on you. But I didn't tell them that.
Bowser: ...
We both stood there in awkward silence. Then, he spoke again.
Bowser: Why would you want to check on... Me?
Rosalina: Because I saw your eyes glowing red.
Bowser: Oh...
He looked away, and then I pulled out my star wand, which he saw.
Bowser: What are you doing?
I didn't answer, waving it at him, chanting a spell. A swirling warm white light formed around him. He didn't move, or protest, mostly because this was an unknown spell to him and he didn't know what it did, and I did. I then wave my wand again, but this time, I said, "Revelare!"
The light turned from white to a dark, deep purple. I then said one last word:
"Dispositus!"
Then, the light faded from purple to black. It was true.
I waved my wand again, and the inky black light ceased.
Bowser: Excuse me, WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?!
Rosalina: I revealed something inside you.
Bowser: Well, I didn't like that swirly light thingy at all! What did you even reveal?
Rosalina: There's a Dark Magic spell cast on you.
He fell silent.
Rosalina: So, you're just acting nice?
Bowser: I'd rather, y'know, NOT talk about it.
Rosalina: But I-
Bowser: Just go. Tell everyone that I was only acting nice! SEE IF I CARE!
Rosalina: I wasn't gonna tell anyone that, I don't believe it either. You can talk to me, just tell me, why'd you go silent?
Bowser: ... It's really personal...
Rosalina: That's ok, just know that you can always talk to me. And thank you for not selling me out.
Bowser: You're welcome... And, thanks, too.
Rosalina: You're welcome, too.
And then I did something I never thought I would do. I kissed him. Not on the forehead, nor his cheek.
I kissed him on the lips.
We both turned away, blushing.
Rosalina: I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have... Done tha-
Bowser: No, no, it's ok...
We just stood there for a bit again creating another silence, and neither of us spoke or moved for a bit.
Rosalina: ... I guess I'll go now...
Bowser: Yeah... Bye.
Rosalina: See you later?
Bowser: Maybe.
He opened the door and looked both ways to make sure the others were gone. Then, with a quick wave, I dashed back to my door.
Luigi's POV:
Oh.
Hi there. So, it's a been a while. Uh... *Sweatdrop*
Soo... Nothing suspicious or interesting happened here! *Sweatdrop*
Mm, yep, nothing-a... Here... Uh... You can go, now... *Sweating profusely*
...
OK FINE! I'll tell you.
...
I may or may not have... WATCHED THAT-A WHOLE THING! Ok! I did it! I watched it all! Them chasing Rosalina! Rosalina hiding under-a Bowser's bed! Daisy lying to her friends to protect Rosalina! The Spell! The Dark-a Magic! The...
THE KISS! I SAW IT ALL!!!
I don't know why I did it! I'M SORRY! I'm sorry! I'm, I'm sorry. I tend to ramble when I'm-a nervous... Whew... Ok, ok. Well, I didn't know that Bowser had Dark Magic in him, I-a thought he got-a rid of it in-a the game, "Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story" But I-a guess not. Well, I hope he was telling the truth, otherwise, we all might be in big trouble. After the bell rang, all the other classes were pretty much normal, other than Lavanne and Peach throwing paper balls and passing bad notes to Rosalina...
When it was the end of the day, me and were walking down the hallway to our rooms, so that was kind of awkward, but it was my chance!
...
To apologize.
Luigi: Hey Bowser.
Bowser: Hm?
Luigi: I... I...
The words were stuck in my throat, refusing to come out, no matter how hard I tried. But I had to. I took a deep breath and tried again.
Luigi: I... I'm sorry.
Bowser: For?
Luigi: For bursting out when you tried to help me the other day. I was just scared, and didn't know what to do, so, I-a freaked out. I don't know what came over me then, but I'm sorry.
Bowser: ...
I really hoped he would accept my apology. I made him look like a fool that day, and I just didn't want that to happen.
Bowser: It's ok. You were just scared, and you didn't mean it. It's fine!
Wow, I didn't think he actually would accept it, that quick, either, after lunch and all-a, but he did! Was this the same Bowser that used to terrorize the Mushroom-a Kingdom, and the one that growled at Lavanne?
Anyways, we reach our rooms and go our different ways. I don't-a know about him, but I go straight to bed, not-a because I'm-a tired, but because the sooner I can put this day behind me, the better. I lie down, close my eyes, and slowly drift off-a to sleep...
... That is, until a spider lands on my face.
It took all of my self-control to not-a yell, and even then, I was still trembling. I turn the light back on, pick the spider up by its silk web, and put it outside the window. I lie back in my bed again and start to doze off...
Until another spider and a barrage of Fire Ants climb on my-a body, making me jump out of my bed. Oh well...
...
Kidding.
This time, I actually start to fall asleep, but I-a did hear Bowser open his window... I wonder if he's sneaking out, and if so, why? Eh, he probably just wants a breeze. *Yawn* I'm-a too tired to stay up and think about it... But that's his-a personal information, and now I'm actually tired, so I close my eyes and, slowly-a, start to... zzZzZZzZ...
