Chapter 1 The day the world went nuts

Job: High school student

Date 02/15/20XX 07:15 hours

'Where is everybody?' was all I could think as no one had shown up not even the teachers. Minus the few boys here we just waited.

Time skip one hour

Me and the group that showed up all boys were calling our parents waiting for the school to open. Some couldn't get a hold of the parents but the ones that did were told to wait there. Since it was just me and my dad, I never really called him since he worked at the Davis Monthan air force base outside of Tucson as a pilot. Problem was he worked from 6am-8pm if he wasn't busy but lately, he's been gone from six to midnight and it has made me worry about him.

A few girls came walking up the sidewalk to the school they were looking at each of us individually. A few came over as the rest continued walking down the road away from school which set off red flags as we looked to one another nodding a silent confirmation to each other as we inched towards the few cars, we had among us.

Our group circled closer together nervous as the girls got closer, we realized they were the popular girls we were the nerds. We may not have known each other but the social hierarchy of high school made us nerds always quick to defend other at least against minor threats but if the jocks found out the popular girls were talking to us; we would be feeling pain sometime soon.

One of the girls Maria Jones aka the most popular girl in our grade looked directly at me and smiled.

The boys made a protective wall around me the boys they were eyeing afraid something was gonna happen to us maria looked Scary and not in a good way no one has ever seen her look the way she was especially at someone else.

"Move out of the way please I wish to speak with Harry." She said sweetly the boys did not budge and instead tightened their defense around us. One of the boys looked at us and mouthed. 'Get ready to run something is wrong get home.' We nodded as one of the boys got the courage to walk forward.

"N-no we know you guys y-you have penchant to humiliate guys l-like us so go away." Before she could speak again, we got the signal and we scattered. To my surprise Maria was now following me...fast.

I was glad that my dad made me take physical education seriously although I don't like sports, I work out enough to be able to keep up a fast pace for a long period of time but otherwise I like being alone or in my social group socializing about video games and the like. Instead of going full sprint I went at a pace slightly faster than her I was taller by two inches and I leveraged that to make more ground.

She was yelling at me to stop but I did not as I used a route through the desert that let me lose bullies after I prank them back for something. I almost stopped cold as I heard her scream into the desert behind me her shoes not meant for the sand compared to my hiking boots.

"WAIT HENRY I LOVE PLEASE STOP I WANT TO TALK TO YOU."

I didn't take her seriously many of us were too smart for that we had been duped in earlier grades and were much more mature now not to take words at face value. I kept running taking a right in the fork I ran till I got to my neighborhood where I saw a girl standing outside her front door.

It was my neighbor's daughter Lillie.

I stopped to talk to her asking what she was doing outside alone. Kneeling I spoke to her.

"Lillie what are you doing out here alone where are your parents?" She looked up and smiled before hugging me.

"Me and mommy went to bed last night really sick and when I woke up mom said she had something to do with daddy and left she hasn't been back since."

'This isn't like the Jacobson's to leave their daughter unattended unless something went wrong.' What she said next made my blood run cold.

"Your bully came over again, so I took care of him."

I made her stop hugging me and I looked her directly in the eyes.

"What do you mean took care of him?" She looked at the door to her house.

"Oh god what did you do?" I whispered running to the door to see the dismembered body of my bully Kevin. I let out my breakfast on the floor at what I was looked at.

'you may have tormented me, but no one deserves this.' I thought as I ran up to check for a pulse.

After I checked his pulse to confirm he was dead I noticed a shadow at the doorway.

I turned around seeing Lillie staring at me with a look something I never expected from especially from a young girl who was barely 5 years old.(A/N Yandere eyes)

"Harry you always take care of me when my parents are gone and make sure I'm okay whenever I'm sad and since your bully kept tormenting you and was going to keep doing it I made sure he went to sleep forever."

I could feel the cold sweat rolling down my face as she walked closer, I was waiting for an opening to get past her without hurting her.

"You see I love you harry, and you are going to be with me forever and ever." She smiled innocently.

'Damn it my own neighbors' kid is acting strange what's wrong with her doesn't she know what she is saying is all kinds of wrong.'

She went to latch onto my leg as I sidestepped her almost slipping on Kevin's blood pool before running next door to my house all the while grabbing my key as quickly as possible. While I was unlocking the door, I heard a car pull up.

It was maria and she looked angry.

'Shit shit shit'

I opened and closed the door locking it I stood against the door grabbing my breath as she tried to bang it down.

"Honey open the door I really do love you please let me in!" I was pissed off, scared, and I don't know what else so i yelled back my frustration.

"Why should I let you in! You humiliated me in front of my friends made me take your duties in class and even started a nasty rumor about me that only got shut down when I got my father involved with the school district.!" The banging on the door stopped. I looked through the peephole seeing her standing there sobbing a little not bothering to wipe the tears away.

I ran upstairs to my dad's room, locked, and braced the door and grabbed my phone out of my pocket dialing 911 only to get a busy signal.

I tried again same thing. I remembered what my dad told me to do if I ever found myself under attack in the house.

"I have a weapon safe in my closet the combination is 973203 I taught you how to the fire guns and love hunting but there may come time where it boils down to you or someone else and the tools to defend yourself are in the safe." I remembered my father saying.

I went over to the closet and saw a safe that took up the right side of the closet I shook my head I had no idea how much time I had left no help was coming to help. I was on my own. I entered the combo heard the click and opened the safe to see quite a few weapons I only picked the two I was the most familiar with before something caught my eye.

A box was at the bottom of the case I picked it up and opened it to see my Great grandpas name and three names engraved on It inside the case Thompson sub machine gun that looked extremely well maintained. There were ten-thirty round magazines all loaded as well as boxes of ammunition for everything in here in shelf at the top. I grabbed two straps for the two bigger guns and a holster for my side arm. I put them on the bed looking at my weapons before getting to work.

I attached the straps first then opened my dad's door ran across the hall to get to my room and grabbed my 72 hour kit

(A/N) Got lazy this is what Harry is carrying though and a few other items not seen here.

I loaded the backpack up and made sure I had everything before slinging the Thompson over my back and shouldering the M4 with its master key shotgun that dad made me practice with as much as possible. I remembered that was pretty much the only time we really spent together talking about stuff was at a shooting range. I went back to dads safe and locked it leaving a note on top of the safe using a code he taught me.

It read translated*

Being chased by crazy I've taken my rifle, grandpa's Thompson and my sidearm ill be in the desert I hope you're okay. Love you."

I was about to unbrace the door before I heard a loud crack of metal hitting wood. Opened the window and looked outside to see maria there with an axe. She looked up at me.

"Let me in or I'm going to let myself in!" She yelled up at me.

"Go away your crazy!" I yelled back removing the brace and ran downstairs throwing more nonperishable cans/bags of food, etc and a can opener before running into the garage Maria had yet to break through the door.

I took the dust cover off a truck that we use when we go hunting.

I got the keys and opened the back door placing my stuff down then went and turned the HUMVEE on. Still can't believe we got this at army surplus. I got out made one last look around the garage grabbing the jack and spare wheel before getting in and popping the car in reverse.

As I reversed out the garage, I saw the door to the garage open Maria looked shocked and began chasing me as I shifted gears sped away only for her to get into her own car to chase me.

"Maria you picked the wrong car to chase me with."
