2 hours had passed since Zelda had been placed in the sickbay. Luigi hadn't left her side since then. Even when Robin, who was the head doctor, had come in to check on her, Luigi had stayed in the room, despite Robin's objections. 10 minutes later, Robin came in.
"How is she?" Luigi asked Robin.
"Not to good. You guys brought her in at the right time. This Waluigi fellow nearly crushed her wind pipe. She's going to need to heal for a while. I might be able to make something to help the healing process speed up," Robin answered gravely.
"Thanks, Robin," Luigi said as Robin walked out. He looked at his unconscious friend. He clenched his fist.
"Waluigi, I will make you pay," Luigi said aloud.
Meanwhile, Shadow had found the castle library. He'd been looking for anything on the golden gauntlet that Waluigi had or even the "mind stone" that the young man had in his possession. Unfortunately, he hadn't had any luck, and was starting to get annoyed.
"This stinks. I feel like I've been looking forever," Shadow groaned. That was when a small purple portal. He then noticed Mario and Sonic walk through. But they weren't alone.
"Fox? Falco? Nice to see you," Shadow said.
"Something wrong? You seem... tense," Falco asked.
"I'm wasting my time. Trying to figure this all out. It's infuriating," Shadow replies, crossing his arms, and shaking his head.
"Well, I can help you out. If it's okay with you, that is."
"Thanks Fox. So, Mario, Sonic, what next?"
"Well, more recruiting. But where is the issue," Mario answered.
"Oh we'll figure something out," Sonic said, grabbing the device from Mario.
"Hey, give me that!"
"Relax! It's not like I'm going to... whoops!" Sonic dropped the device after he'd been spinning it on his fingers. The device hit the floor glitching, before shutting off.
"Mama mia! Why did you do that?" Mario asked, scurrying to pick up the device.
"Sorry! Is it broken?" Sonic asked.
"Okay, it's back on... but... wait...," Mario said.
"What is it?"Sonic asked. He saw that where the names of locations were, the names were now mixed with letters, numbers, and symbols.
"Well, now what?"
"I guess we find a random place and hope for the best," Mario said. After selecting a random location he hit the button. The portal appeared and Mario and Sonic entered. Once they were gone, Shadow and Fox got to work, looking for answers after ten minutes, there was still no look.
"Sorry Shadow, there's nothing," Fox said shrugging.
"It's not your fault. I was grasping at the air anyway."
"What do we do now?"
"I don't think there's anything we can do. It's not like a book is just going to fall from these shelves," Shadow said, kicking one of the shelves. That was when a book fell from the top shelf. Fox immediately picked it up. His eyes lit up.
"Uh, Shadow? You might want to see this," Fox said suddenly.
"What is it?" Shadow asked. His eyes got wide when Fox showed him the book.
"You've got to be kidding me."
