Author's Note

Wow...
Before I get into this, hi, I'm Nick. I'm the guy who has wrote this story, as well as it's prequel, Super Smash Bros. Now that I've got that out of the way...
So, I want to talk mainly about this series, mainly, Infinity Wah. This was a big project for me, I'd say, though I think the first one was bigger. I started writing that in April of 2018, and I didn't finish that one till the end of May. On a Google Doc, it was 73 pages long. I can't help but remember how excited I was when I finished it. It felt like a sign to me that I could do more of this. But enough about the first book.
So the first thing I wanted to address about this story is the idea of the story, as well as the story. So, I finished the first book after about a month. It wasn't until around February of March of 2019 that I got the idea to start writing the sequel. I unfortunately hit a roadblock: I wasn't sure what I was going to do for it. One of my ideas was have Crazy Hand escape from the Subspace(which was Master Hand's goal in the first book), but goes under Master Hand's name. Crazy is much more powerful, and he destroys many of the worlds, and kills Link. The beginning is the same as it is now: Shadow gets alerted of the danger, so he and Sonic go to the Mario Bros for their aid. But the idea for the story(as well as the title) was CK Productions YouTube series of the same name. Now, the plot is the same(Waluigi gets the Nintendo version of the Infinity Gauntlet and Mario gets a group of fighters to stop him). Though I decided to add upon this idea in my own way, and that's how it became the sequel. I do recommend you watch the YouTube series. It has the perfect combination of comedy and action in my opinion.
I now want to talk about characters. I tried to focus on the four main characters: Mario, Luigi, Sonic, and Shadow. Each of the characters' personalities are the same for the most part, except for some things, like Mario can be a bit lazy, and Luigi is a lot braver, and Shadow isn't nearly as much of a scumbag. Though these four were the heads of the resistance(so to speak), I also wanted to focus somewhat on Luigi's friendship with Zelda, and how her attack affected him. This is what led me to including two Zeldas, instead of just keeping the one, or ditching the other. To be clear, the Zelda attacked by Waluigi is the one from Brawl/Smash 4. The Other Zelda is the new one that was just introduced in Ultimate. I also felt that I needed to use the Fire Emblem characters more than I did in the first book. That is where the romance between Ike and Lucina came in. To be honest, I don't know where this idea came from. But I think it was a good way to make people remembered the Fire Emblem characters were in the game(though I don't think they needed a reminder). Other than that, I felt really good with the characters I put in. I was glad I put Cloud in the story, as I wanted to put him in the first one, but wasn't sure how to include him. And I feel like his friendly rivalry with Ike was also a good way to make him stand out. Speaking of Cloud, I'm not 100% sure why I included the fact that Other Zelda fell in love with Cloud. But I decided to stick with it, and I plan to do more with the idea in the sequel. I also plan to somehow use Cloud's Advent Children costume.
Moving on, I feel one question a lot of people might be asking is, "Why include Shadow?" That's a good question. So, when I first started writing the chapter in the first book, I honestly felt it wouldn't be fair to write about Sonic without including Shadow. It might sound dumb, but that's probably because Shadow has been my favorite Sonic character for the longest time. Also, I felt it would be more appropriate for Shadow to be in the game over any other Sonic characters, like Tails, since Shadow does have a part in Smash as an assist trophy, while someone like Tails hasn't had a big role in Smash, besides a Mii costume and a couple trophies. Even after Shadow was deconfirmed, I felt that it would be wrong to leave him out, after the part he played in the first one.
So the next thing I'm going to do here is explain why I did certain things in Infinity Wah. So for one, Sonic being turned into Metal Sonic. The idea for this came from Mortal Kombat. More specifically, the 2011 reboot. The idea of the Lin Kuei being cyberized something that came to my mind while thinking about Mario and Sonic's encounter with Wolf. It sounded like a strange idea, but then the idea of basically making a talking Metal Sonic was possible. Also, the idea of making all the dead characters revenants also came from Mortal Kombat.
One idea I had for the longest time was to include Little Mac in the battle against Waluigi. However, in the middle of writing Lights Out, I decided it would be strange for someone like Little Mac going against Waluigi would be weird. I realize now that this would've been a cool concept, and finding a way to include Doc Louis would've been hilarious. I also find it strange that I thought that way about Mac, when I put Ryu and Ken in the story.
So, after writing this, I realized that I forgot a portion of characters. Not just from Smash in general, but I didn't include characters from the previous title, Kirby, for one, wasn't included. I guess my idea of including characters like Cloud overshadowed him. I will be sure to add him, and maybe Dedede and Meta Knight. Also, I didn't include any Pokémon characters. I do plan on featuring most of the same characters, like Ash, Pikachu, Lucario, and Greninja, but I also want to include either Red or Leaf to represent the Pokémon Trainer as a character. Next? I intentionally left out Palutena and Pit, but I'm making sure that they make at least one appearance in the sequel. There are a handful of characters that I will guarantee that they will appear in the sequel: All the DLC(Joker, Hero, Banjo, Terry, Byleth), and Snake. But that is all for now.
I lastly want to apologize for the many spelling errors in here, as well as the first one. It turns out autocorrect isn't exactly your friend when you're doing something like this. I can't tell you how many on's got turned to in's, or how many normal words got corrected into words I usually use in their place.
So the big question, for me anyway, is what's next? To some, including me, I should get started brainstorming some ideas for the sequel(I actually have ideas that I thought of while writing this that I'll do my best to implement in the sequel). However, one of my other ideas was to make a crossover story between Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
So that's pretty much it. One thing I can say is that I'm extremely excited for my what's next, and I hope you are too! Thanks again to you all!
Yours truly,
Nick
