Zelda slowly opened her eyes. She was in a room that she didn't recognize. She slowly looked around. This wasn't her castle.
"Where am I?" Zelda squeaked. She noticed right away that her voice sounded off. She tried to think of everything that had happened. It came back to her. Her kingdom had been attacked by the man in purple. Link had went to stop him before he got to the castle, but never came back. It was only a few minutes later, that the man barged into the room. She tried defending herself, but the man, or Waluigi, as he told her, was too powerful. Waluigi grabbed Zelda by her neck, squeezing tightly. Zelda tried to escape, but she found herself unable to. She found herself gasping for air. She felt she was there forever, before Waluigi let her go. Before she lost consciousness, she saw Luigi, along with Mario, Sonic, and Shadow. The last thing she heard was "I'll come back for the Stone later..."
She was thankful that Luigi had arrived the time he did. Not only had he probably saved her life, he kept Waluigi from getting the Time Stone in her possession...
That was when she realized that the Time Stone was no longer in her position. She was instantly in worry. Had Waluigi actually gotten the Stone? She knew that if he had, she had to stop him. But she knew that she was in condition to do so. As Zelda, that is. Quickly, she transformed into Sheik. She got up from the bed she was in. Just before she left the room, she heard footsteps outside. Quickly, she moved behind the wall. As the steps got close, she drew her knife and stuck it out in the doorway...
"Ugh...."
Zelda's eyes opened and she realized she was back in Altea. She had fallen asleep on a mat in the room. She remembered why she was here this time. Luigi had been injured. She'd brought him back to Altea. It was him who had woke her out of her dream.
"Luigi, are you alright?" Zelda asked, getting to her feet, moving closer to the bed Luigi was in. Luigi opened his eyes and looked around in confusion.
"Huh? Zelda? Where are we right now?"
"I brought you back to Altea. You were injured by Ryu."
"Ryu... did we save him?"
"No... he escaped."
"Rats..."
"We'll help them. For the time being, you need to rest."
"I can't do that. I have to get back and help Mar...ACK!" Luigi fell back into the bed. Zelda's eyes went wide. Was this the power of the Satsui No Hado?
"What's wrong?" Zelda asked desperately. Luigi sat up again, clenching his chest.
"Whatever Ryu did... I can feel the darkness inside of me," Luigi replied. He looked down at his right hand, which was trembling.
"It's the Satsui No Hado, that thing that Ryu said he mastered. It must be affecting you," Zelda said.
"Satsui... No... Hado?" Luigi said, in almost a chant. He looked at his trembling hand again. It scared him.
"What's wrong with me?" He wondered.
"Are you alright now?" Zelda asked, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Oh... yeah, I'll be okay. I hope Mario will be back soon...," he sighed. As the two came back into Marth's throne room, Mario, along with the rest of the resistance walked in.
"Luigi! Glad to see you're okay!" Mario said gladly. He wasn't sure what had happened back in Dreamland, so to see him in his feet so soon relieved.
"Thanks, Bro. Did you find Kirby? Any revenants?"
"We got Kirby, and couple of his allies. We didn't find Ryu, but we rescued Chrom and Roy," Mario explained.
"I see...," Luigi was about to ask Mario another question, when something dark swelled over him. He couldn't control it. He fell to his hands and knees.
"Luigi? What's happening?"
"I don't know! I can't control it! AHHHH!" Luigi screamed. He looked at his trembling hands.
"Luigi!" Zelda was starting to run to her friend.
"No! Stay back!" Luigi put his hand up to stop her. He appreciated Zelda's concern. It wasn't that he didn't want her help. He didn't want her to get hurt with whatever this was. The darkness swelled over him. Feelings of anger swamped him.
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Luigi cried again. He suddenly went quiet. Mario looked in concern.
"Stay back. I need to see if he's okay," Mario told the group, walking slowly towards his brother.
"Be careful, Mario," Ken warned. Mario got closer. He looked at his brother.
"Luigi?" He asked quietly. Luigi sat there silently for a little bit. That was when a raging red aura surrounded his body. Mario didn't see what happened next, as he was launched across the throne room. Luigi suddenly launched a strong punch into his brother's stomach. Everyone looked in shock as Luigi got to his feet. His clothes remained the same, but now his eyes were red. The red aura surrounded his body.
"The Satsui No Hado! It's taking control of his body!" Ken shouted.
"How do we stop him?"
"We just have to fight back until it stops!"
"Well, let's get to it!" Sonic said, dashing at the possessed Luigi. He ran around him a couple times, occasionally throwing in a few fits to knock him off guard. Falcon ran towards Luigi, also trying to get a hit in on Luigi, but Luigi grabbed his vacuum, grabbed Falcon and somehow managed to launch the Supersonic Slugger into the Blue Blur. The two crashed into one of the throne room walls in a heap.
"Whoa, that's incredible accuracy!" Fox gasped. He took his chances and attacked Luigi. A weakened Roy, Marth, Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight, Ike, Cloud, Snake, Shadow, and even Ken all made attempts to take down the beast. But Luigi's new powers made him way too strong and way too quick. Lucina, Zelda, Other Zelda, and a weakened Chrom stood in horror as Luigi turned to them. Lucina drew Falchion, while Chrom fell to one knee, too exhausted to do anything. Lucina waited, wondering what Luigi would do. Luigi began charging at the four.
"Luigi, stop! We're you're friends! Snap out of it!" Zelda protested. Luigi was nearing the group, with his hammer in his hand, however, before he could reach them, he stopped. His body shook, as if he'd been stunned by an attack. Then Luigi suddenly collapsed. The red aura faded.
"Luigi!" Zelda cried, running up to her fallen friend.
Luigi opened his eyes and looked around. He couldn't where he was at. He felt he knew the place, but the entire area was dark.
"Wh-where am I?" Luigi asked aloud. He wasn't sure to expect a response or not.
"You should know, of all people," a gruff, though familiar voice came from behind. Luigi looked behind him, and too his surprise, he saw himself. But he seemed... different. This version of him was surrounded by a red aura and his eye color matched.
"Wh-who are you? What are you talking about?" Luigi demanded, getting into a fighting position.
"This your mind. I must say, I didn't expect it to be this spacious. And to answer your first question, I'm you," his reflection(if you could even call it that) answered.
"M-me? Is this a joke?" Luigi asked. He wasn't really sure what to make if this.
"It was your friend. That Ryu guy, was it? Whatever that uppercut did, it created me. I'm you, but stronger. I'm powered by the Satsui No Hado," his reflection explained.
"If this is my mind, then why are you here? There's only one me, and that's it," Luigi said sharply. His reflection laughed.
"On the contrary, since I'm here right now. And I know that deep down, there's an anger burning in you. A pure hatred, after all Waluigi has done to you. Your friends. Your family. If you put me in charge of this whole thing, I'll put him in his place... six feet under," his reflection sounded much more ruthless, an evil smile now on his face.
"Wait, you want to KILL Waluigi?"
"No. I want YOU to kill Waluigi. You will be the one doing it. I'll just be in control of it all, watching the fireworks."
"Are you crazy? Yeah Waluigi has done some terrible things.  But I can't kill him. It won't change anything. It won't fix any of the things he's done. So, I'll pass," Luigi replied, turning away.
"That's how it's going to be, huh? Well, if that's the case, I have no choice... but to force you!" His reflection shouted.
"What?!" Luigi whirled around to see his reflection omitting red aura. Instantly, thoughts of pain and hatred filled Luigi's head. It was too much for him to bear. He fell to his hands and knees.
"Give in to your rage!" His reflection suddenly roared at him.
"No... I can't... there must... be... another way...," Luigi uttered, these thoughts and feelings wearing him down.
"Then, I'll take control of things right now!" His reflection replied. He pulled out his hammer and was about to swing it down when a loud voice echoed throughout the area.
"Luigi!"
"Z-zelda?" Luigi asked in confusion, the thoughts leaving him, allowing him to get to his feet. He then saw his reflection, who covering his ears, on his knees.
"What's wrong with you?" Luigi asked. His reflection got to his feet.
"Looks like this business meeting is going to be dismissed early. I'll be back, don't worry. In the end, you'll have nothing but your pain and rage to lean on," his reflection seethed, disappearing into the shadows.
"What? Hey! Get back here! What are you talking about?" Luigi shouted, only for no response...
"Luigi!" Zelda's voice rung in his ears. Though this time, it wasn't as... echoey.
"Zelda?"
"Yes, it's me, Luigi, don't worry. Are you back in control?" Zelda asked, talking quickly.
"I think so...," Luigi answered weakly, getting to his feet with Zelda's feet.
"Thank goodness you're okay. You went berserk and no one could stop you," Zelda explained, helping her friend to his feet.
"What? What did I...," Luigi stopped, looking at his hand. It was trembling, and it seemed worse than the last time. He felt sick. "Did that..."
"The Satsui No Hado. It had control over you," Ken spoke up, walking up to Luigi, clutching his arm.
"No...," Luigi gasped. He looked down again at his shaking hands. The others Luigi had defeated were starting to rise. While there were no serious injuries, everyone was banged up.
"After that, I think that everyone could rest," Mario spoke up. Everyone nodded and turned to go to their quarters. As Luigi headed toward his, Ken stopped him.
"Listen, whatever the Satsui No Hado is doing to you, we're going to help you. We just need Ryu's help."
"When is that going to be?"
"Well, whenever we find him."
"Let's hope so...," Luigi said, walking to his quarters. He took one last look at his trembling hand. Whatever this was, it wasn't safe for anyone. And he had to make sure that he didn't hurt anyone else with it.
