Out heroes were reunited upon entering the pyramid. The move through the pyramid was a bit of struggle. Whoever designed the inside designed it to be an obstacle course. This made it seem obvious that something was being hid inside this pyramid.
"Man, this pyramid looks small from the outside, but inside, it's huge," Luigi heaved, as he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead.
"Don't worry, the power of aura senses we are near the top," Lucario reassured.
"Well, that's a relief," Ash said. Luigi then felt determined to toughen up. He was surrounded by animals, like Fox, Falco, Sonic, and Shadow, who had awesome jump ability. Diddy could carry DK with his jetpack. There was Lucario, who was basically a ninja. Then there was Link, who had his Hookshot. Zelda, using her magic powers to get to hard to reach places. And there was Falcon, who was basically good at everything. Then, Mario and Luigi, just ordinary plumbers from Brooklyn, yet, from their time in the Mushroom Kingdom, they'd learned to be great jumpers. Ash, on the other hand, was just an ordinary ten year old kid, who was a Pokemon trainer. He had no special abilities. Luigi was glad Ash was here, now. His struggling had taught him to harden up a bit. Finally, the group had reached the top. They noticed an item at the end of a long corridor. The item was in all reality, a purplish pinkish color and white striped stick with a star on top.
"Well, we've found it. Let's go!" Sonic said, preparing to run towards the item.
"Stop!" Shadow yelled. Sonic skidded in his tracks.
"What? Can't I just go get that thing?" Sonic asked.
"Do you think that they put that thing there just for decoration?"
"Shadow is right. The power of aura tells me that this area is full of traps."
"Well, what are we supposed to do? We can't just leave it there. Whoever put it there obviously can just take it whenever they want."
"Allow me," Shadow replied. Using quick jumps and speed, Shadow exposed all the traps. This allowed our heroes to walk safely to the item. Sonic grabbed the item.
"Yes! We got it!" Sonic cheered. Suddenly, a small in the wall of this pyramid, and a pink ball figure appeared. It snatched the item out of Sonic's hand! By the time Sonic realized what was happening, the pink thing was gone!
"You IDIOT! I should've known that you would goof up like that!" Shadow shouted angrily.
"Well, we can't stand here, let's go get it!" Mario said. Because the hole the puff ball appeared in was too small, Captain Falcon Falcon Punched the hole, making it big enough to slip through. The puff ball had gotten an distance, but Sonic was too fast. After catching up, he reached his foot out. The puff ball didn't see it. He tripped, and in the process, left the wand to fly in the air. Sonic quickly grabbed it.
"See? Not a problem," Sonic said. The puff ball, as soon as it scrambled to his feet, took out Sonic at the legs, causing him to lose the wand. The puff ball picked it up and started to run for it again. Just as Shadow was about to take the wand, another puff ball appeared, this one clad in armor, attacked the puff ball, grabbing the wand. This guy also had wings, so he was able to grab the wand, then fly in the air, keeping everyone from getting him.
"You are all acting foolish. This Star Rod is very powerful. You are abusing its power," The puff ball in armor said.
"Does everyone want this stupid thing?" Falco complained.
"As long as my Lord has all these stupid worlds in his hand, This Star Rod belongs to Meta Knight!" cried "Meta Knight." He headed up towards his giant battleship, which was in the sky. As Meta Knight disappeared, The purple dots fell again, surrounding our heroes.
"Not again!" Falco complained.
"Knock it off, Falco! We need to get that Star Rod thing back!" Fox snapped.
"I'll try and catch up," Mario said. He grabbed a cape feather, turned into Cape Mario, and went after the battleship. He was getting close, and Meta Knight, who was safely at his control panel now, noticed.
"Fire the cannons!" Meta Knight ordered. The cannons of the device opened, and began to fire at Mario. Mario had never really been shot at with laser fire before, so he knew he had to be fast. However, it was too much. Mario had to fall back. The battleship escaped.
"He was smart. The Halberd would have turned him to bits," Meta Knight sneered. The Halberd escaped through the purple portal.
Meanwhile, a defeated Mario arrived at the scene. The Primids were easily defeated.
"Any luck?" Sonic asked, as Mario floated to the ground.
"Sorry, no. He got away," Mario said, looking down at the ground.
"Hey, it happens. There's stuff even Shadow can't do sometimes," Sonic said, following up with a laugh.
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Shadow yelled angrily. Mario smiled weakly. Yet, his spirits were down. He'd failed. This was one of those things that he declared unexceptable. Mario looked up. He saw the puff ball offer a stub, which a appeared to be his hand.
"Um, thanks," Mario said, shaking the stub.
"His name is Kirby. He doesn't really speak English, like DK and Diddy," Lucario explained.
"Let's-a-go. We may have time to get through the hole Meta Knight's battleship went through. Kirby, you're coming with us," Mario declared. Everyone boarded Falcon's ship. And everyone flew through the hole, just minutes before it closed.
