Najimi: Now, our heroes are about to embark on a quest to get the Dragon Balls from Kami's home planet Namek. But I think before we catch up on them. You should know a little history of what happened before Goku arrived on earth. 

Najimi's right. Let's head back in time to when Goku was still a baby. 

On a distant planet we see a powerful Saiyan warrior by the name of Bardock fighting with his fellow lower class warriors. 

Bardock (Goku's Father! Unlike most other Saiyans, he has a semblance of humanity and compassion! Loves his wife, Gine very much, and will do anything for her and his kids!) 

One of his comrades called out to him as they were taking out all the enemies in their path. 

Saiyan: Bardock! We have been ordered to retreat! All Saiyans are return to Planet Vegeta! 

Bardock: What? But what for? 

The two took off in their pod back to the planet. 

Saiyan: I don't understand it. Apparently it was an order from that bastard, Frieza. I've never heard of anything like it before. 

Bardock: Take your scouter off, they can hear you. 

Saiyan: R-Right. Sorry. 

He did exactly what his comrade said. 

They then landed as Bardock began to think of something. 

Bardock: I have a hunch that there's something going behind the scenes. 

Planet Vegeta 

On the surface of Planet Vegeta... 

Another Saiyan approached Bardock. 

Saiyan: Bardock, long time no see. Glad to see you're alive. 

Bardock: Have you heard anything about why were were all summoned back? 

Saiyan: Not that I know of. But the guys from Frieza's army were asking about a Super Saiyan. 

Bardock: You mean the legendary Super Saiyan? 

Above the planet... 

???: Super Saiyan? Lord Frieza, I'm sure they're just going on about those stupid legends. 

Zarbon (One of Frieza's elite soldiers! He is a flamboyant and possibly homosexual warrior who drops innuendos frequently! Usually picks up the slack amongst Frieza's minions!) 

???: I'm aware of that Zarbon. But I cannot overlook the slightest possibility. Anyhow, the monkeys are a bit too proud to be truly loyal to me. 

Frieza (A villainous tyrant who rules over most of the North Galaxy! He is a cruel and sadistic bastard who loves to mock and joke about those inferior to him! He is the favorite of his father, King Cold, and has a massive rivalry with his brother, Cooler! Voiced by LittleKuriboh!) 

Frieza: I say it's about time that I wiped them out along with their planet. 

Zarbon: It's a pity really Sir. And I thought those filthy primates made such dashing warriors. Though not all of them are back. It might take a bit longer til they get back. And I can't get a full release if that doesn't happen. Frieza: I can't wait that long. We'll have to execute our plan in a month's time. 

Meanwhile... on another planet... 

A young Raditz and a young Vegeta are seen slaughtering more enemies. 

Raditz: Hey Vegeta, shouldn't we head back? I mean, it's important that- 

Vegeta: Forget about it Raditz. Let's just pretend that we didn't hear it. 

Back on Planet Vegeta... 

Bardock: I'm back Honey. 

???: BARDOCK! 

He was hugged by his loving wife! 

Gine (Bardock's loving wife and Goku and Raditz's Mother! She is a kind-hearted woman, which is usually looked down upon the rest of the Saiyans!) 

Bardock: Where is Raditz? 

Gine: He's already a combatant and he went to another planet with Prince Vegeta. It's so far off, I don't think he's going to come back. 

Bardock: Geez, with the Prince around, I think he's going to have a hard time. What about Kakarot? Is he inside the incubator? 

Gine: I think so. It's been three years, so I'll get him out soon. 

They then went to a tube with a baby Goku in it. 

Bardock: Wow, he sure has grown. 

Gine: Yeah, he looks just like you, doesn't he? 

Bardock: I'm going to go and steal a space pod at night. We need to launch him to another planet. 

Gine: WHAT?! WHY?! That could be dangerous! 

Bardock: It's for his sake. Frieza is up to something. 

Soon... 

The two flew to an uninhabited location. 

Gine: It's not like you to worry about our kids like this. 

Bardock: I must have gotten it from you because you've grown so much on me. 

They heard noises inside. 

Bardock: Calm down, Kakarot. 

Gine: Why can't we call escape together? 

Bardock: They'll use their scooters to find us. It should be programmed to go to a planet called Earth. It has lots of food, and plenty of people that won't hurt him. He'll be safe. 

They then looked at their son. 

Gine: If your father is wrong, we'll come and get you as soon as we can. 

Bardock: Remember, you must not look up at the moon for too long! I'll let Raditz know. 

Gine: You have to survive, Kakarot! 

Bardock: Take care. 

Najimi: And with that, Bardock and Gine sent their only son off of the planet. Though, they would not last for so long. 

Yes, Bardock would perish trying to stop the madman from destroying Vegeta.

Najimi: And also, he was being watched too from another ship. 

???: Lord Cooler, it seems that your brother has destroyed Planet Vegeta. 

Salza (The Right Hand Man of Cooler! He speaks in a French Accent!) 

???: Is that so? Killing off a bunch of monkeys? Any hillbilly with a shotgun at the zoo could have done the same thing. 

Cooler (Frieza's Older Brother! He is much more serious than his brother, and detests prolonging his opponent's suffering! Voiced by Chris Gerrurero!) 

Salza: That's not all! There's another pod going towards a planet called Earth! 

They detected Goku's pod. 

Cooler: Hmm ... let it go. 

Salza: What? Why? 

Cooler: Because if Frieza's going to complain to our father about having control over the galaxy like a spoiled brat, then he's going to have to accept the responsibility. If that comes back to bite him, it's his problem. 

The ship then leaves as Planet Vegeta explodes. 

Najimi: And as for Goku, well you know.
