Mario just woke up in an unfamiliar location with Luigi. “L-Luigi? Luigi! Where are we?” Mario asked Luigi. Luigi rubbed his head. "I-I don't know... Where's Princess Peach and Bowser?" He asked in worry. “I don’t know...” Mario said in worry. "WELL, HI!" A voice called out, a strange creature approached them. Mario looked at the strange being that approached them. “H-hello? Where are we?” Mario asked. "You're in the Underwhere. This is the place people go when their games are over." The creature said. “I hate to say this, but our games are not over...” Mario said. "Hah! Heard that one before. Denial is always the first step. Maybe you should get Queen Jaydes to tell you. She's the scariest thing down here... And that's SAYING something." The creature said happily. Luigi was shaking a bit.

Mario gulped and decided to go with Luigi to meet with the queen. While they were walking, they heard a voice. "Doo bi doo bi doo!" A lovely voice sang out. They looked up and saw a very pretty girl. "Ohh me... I wonder if I shall meet my special someone this day?" She asked out loud. Mario looked up at her. “Hello!” He called out to her. She turns to them. "Pray! What call hast thou to stare at me so?! Didst thou hear me pine for an old, mustachioed fatty?! Begone!" She shouted. Mario leave the girl alone and proceed to Queen Jaydes’ palace.

“You... what business have you with me? I am Queen Jaydes, mistress of The Underwhere! Ruler of those whose games have ended!” She introduced herself. “Here, in this place, your sins from your time among the living are weighed. If your sins are light enough, the bliss of the Overthere will be yours. But if not... you suffer for eternity among the Game-Overed! Now let us weigh your sins...” She said, weighing Mario and Luigi’s sins. “Hm? I sense a strange energy... have you brought something strange into the Underwhere, by chance?” She asked. Mario held up the stone Pure Heart. “What is THIS?!” She asked. “No, no... it could not be... but how... it is badly damaged, yes... but what you Hold is a Pure Heart! Who exactly ARE you, to have a Pure Heart... and what had happened to it?” She asked.

She then heard her phone ringing and she answered it. “What is it NOW, grams? You know I am working...” She listened in then suddenly got worried. “WHAT?! LUVBI IS MISSING?! Oh, mercy... I understand. Yes yes. I will see to it. Mmmm-bye!” She replied, hanging up. “Just great. Just what I need. I am already short handed. What am I going to do?” She asked. She turned to Mario and Luigi. “Oh! Perhaps you can help!” She suggested. Mario asked what she needed help with. “That phone call I have received just now? It was from the King of the Overthere, Grambi... one of the nimbis vanished from the Overthere, and he asked me to look for her. But I cannot abandon my duties here in the palace... and my D-Men are all busy. So it must fall to you! Will you search for this missing person in my place?” She asked them. Mario nodded in response. “Oh, thank you very much. I apologize for asking this if you, But it would really help. The name of this missing Nimbi is Luvbi. Oh... and what are your names?” She asked the heroes. “I am Mario, and this is my brother Luigi.” Mario replied. “Mario and Luigi... well, Mario... May I hold on to this Pure Heart of while you are  busy searching?” She asked him. She takes the Pure Heart. “Worry not, I just want a look. I will return it to you when YOU return with Luvbi. And in its place, allow me to give you this...” She said, handing them a key. “Word has reached me that someone fell into the River Twygz. Some said it was a strange girl in lime green... that could not be Luvbi... still,  just in case, I would suggest that you check there first. This key will open a door to the underground waterways beneath the River Twygz, please. I must ask you to search the area thoroughly.

"Lime green?! Mario... do you think it could be?" Luigi asked. Mario thought for a moment and decided to check it out. Mario and Luigi headed down into the River Twygz. Mario got nervous when they saw all these strange hands. Luigi surprisingly persisted as he dived into the water.

After solving some puzzles, they came across a rock with a little cotton tail peaking out. “Ugh... what happened to me? All I remember is that I was trying to escape this castle with a Dry Bones and we attempted to play dead but we got caught and now everything is just fuzzy...” A voice groaned out loud.

Mario and Luigi approached the rock. “Huh? That voice sounds familiar...” Mario said curiously. Luigi peeked around the rock. The figured jumped. “Mario! Luigi!” She cried out. It was Lianna! Back to normal, no longer brainwashed! "Lianna!" Luigi cried out and hugged her tightly, crying. "It's really you!" He said happily.

Lianna hugged back in tears. “It’s so great to see you guys again! I honestly don’t remember what happened to me... all I have done was trying to escape Castle Bleck, met up with a Dry Bones, got caught in a dead end, ended up trying to play dead but that backfired and my memory has gone numb and I only remember very small snippets of memories...” Lianna explained. "A lot has happened... How did you get here?" Luigi asked. “I think I was sent here after being in a glass box and then blown up by one of Count Bleck’s henchmen...” Lianna replied.

"That's... how we got here, I think..." Luigi replied. “Yeah... Dimentio did this to us... we kept begging him for him to return you to us, but at least you’re okay!” Mario said happily. “Yeah.” Lianna said, but deep down, she was kind of traumatized by Dimentio, really scared to meet him again... "The important thing is, you're ok, and we're together again." Luigi said.

Lianna nodded in response. She did remember what the psychopath Dimentio told her before he killed her, something about the two of them reuniting again.. She kept her mouth shut about what she was told. "I'm just... so happy to see you again..." Luigi said. "I am so happy to see you too." Lianna replied happily. "Come with us. I'd love to go on an adventure with you." Luigi said happily.

"You would want me to come along with you? It would be an honor too!" Lianna said happily. Lianna joined the party! Like Luigi, she can jump a lot higher, but like Peach, she has slow falls and drifts. Luigi suddenly remembered something. "Wait, weren't Peach and Bowser with us when we got blown up?" He asked. Mario nodded. Where could those two guys be? "We have to find them!" Luigi cried out.

Lianna nodded. "I'll explain everything when we get the chance to tell you what has been happening..." Mario said in response. Lianna nodded in agreement. "Cmon, let's-a go!" Luigi called out.

Lianna nodded and headed out the door and swam out of the river, they headed to a certain area and saw Luvbi again. "Oh, hurry... Hasten to meee... Sweeet priiince..." She said happily. Lianna looks up. "Hey there! You pretty girl!" She called out. "Oh? A talking bunny? I hast never seen one before..." Luvbi said, she saw Mario and Luigi. "Foulness! The aging men of mustache grim accompany her! What dodt thou want of me?!" She snapped. Mario responds to Luvbi.

"We've come to find you." Luigi said. "Pah! As if I would consort to faces so behaired! I await a handsome prince! Understand? PRINCES ONLY! Oh, but hold a moment... Ha HA! Dost thou claim to be the prince for whom I pine?" Livni asked. Luigi shook his head. "No, not me! I... have someone else in mind..." He gushed as he held his arm, blushing a bit. Lianna looked at Luigi.

"M-mario, help me out here..." Luigi whispered to Mario. Mario looked up at Luvbi. "Yes, I happen to be the Prince you pine!" He called out. Lianna was blushing a bit, looking at Luigi. "Hmm, very well then, good prince. Let us confirm thy lineage. If thou art my prince, then surely thou knowest my name. Speak it to mine ears! If the name is true, then I shall admit thou art mine one and only." Luvbi said. “Sure thing, my fair Luvbi.” Mario replied.

"Ha HA! In thy FACE! My name is not... WHAAAAAT?! H-H-How hast thou come by the knowledge of my name? No... Doth this mean..." She said in shock. “Queen Jaydes told me your name.” Mario said, chuckling a bit. "I will not date a man so old and jagged! I must return to my mother! Gaaaaaag!" Luvbi shouted and flew away angrily. "Wow, that would've been really awkward to tell Peach if she actually wanted to date you bro." Luigi said.

“Yeah, But I still have my heart set on Peach...” Mario said. Lianna was blushing, trying to hide her blush. "I know bro. Don't worry, I won't tell." Luigi said. “And I won’t tell “you know who” about your secret.” Mario said in his mind. "Why are you looking at me like that bro?" He asked. “Nothing...” Mario said. Lianna was blushing, she figured Luigi loved her, but she also felt like Dimentio might have a crush on her too... Luigi turned to Lianna. "Are you ok?" He asked her. Lianna nodded in embarrassment. "I-I think you like me..." Lianna gushed sweetly.

Luigi's face turned red. "Wha?! Wha... wai... how... oh gosh..." He stuttered, trying to find his words. Lianna was blushing a lot. Mario just watched them. “Hey! Lovebirds, how about we head over back to Queen Jaydes?” Mario suggested. "Mario!" Luigi cried out loud, covering his face, embarrassed. Mario chuckled. Lianna blushed nervously. She felt so embarrassed! "L-Lianna... let's talk about this later, ok?" Luigi asked her.

Lianna nodded and they headed back to Queen Jaydes’ palace. "HA! At last thou appearest, thine hairy beasts! You're not a prince! You're a LIAR! Approach me at my mother's consent!" Luvbi cried out. They approached Luvbi and the Queen. "Um, you were the one who got lost, didn't you?" Luigi asked and tilted his head. Lianna nodded in response. “Luvbi! Mind your manners! You know all this happened because you wandered off without permission! Now, apologize to these nice men and the bunny at once!” Queen Jaydes demanded.

"Um, yea..." Luvbi frowned and approached them. "So, ummm, yeah, I am sorry... that thou art so hairy." She said sadly. “Oh Luvbi, you had us all worried. Mario and Luigi, take this as a sign of my eternal thanks. Here.” Queen Jaydes said, handing them a fully charged purple pure heart. Luigi looked surprised. "Wha? It's back to normal, but how?" He asked. “I have power over life and death, you see. And I was able to use that power to restore this Pure Heart. I know not how you found it, but this Pure Heart shows that fate is on your side. Take good care of it.” Queen Jaydes replied. Mario took the newly revived Pure Heart!

"That's great. What do we do now?" Luigi asked. "It may please you to know that your game is not truly over. Somehow you were sent to the Underwhere while still very much alive... My power can return you to your world of you so wish. Would you like to do that?" She asked them. "What do you think bro?" Luigi asked Mario. "Yes! We need Tippi!" Mario replied. "Yes! I want to meet your 'Tippi' friends. I never actually met her, but I think we'll be great friends." Lianna said in agreement. "Ok, we'll go back up." Luigi said.

"Then I shall return you." She said. She started up a magical chant, which brought the heroes back to Flipside.

Meanwhile back at Flipside...

They arrived at the tower. "Mario! Luigi! You're alive!" Tippi and Merlon stood before them. "Yep! And we even found our friend!" Mario replied. Lianna approached them and waved to them. "Hey there! The name's Lianna! Friends with Mario and Luigi." Lianna replied. "So you're the one they mentioned. My name is Tippi." Tippi said. "Nice name." Lianna replied happily. "Thank you." Tippi smiled.

"So, I have finally reunited with Mario and Luigi, and we need to find Peach and Bowser..." Lianna replied. "Well, if you three can come back, then surely they can too. But for now, let's put this next heart in the Heart Pillar." Tippi said. Mario nodded. "Oh my! Smells like adventure!" Lianna said happily. Luigi nodded. "Yup." He said. Lianna followed Mario and Luigi to the Heart Pillar.

"Hey Lianna, do you think you're our 5th hero?" Luigi asked her. "A hero? That would be amazing if that was true." Lianna said happily. "The prophecy says five heroes are destined to save the universe from total destruction." Mario explained. "I can't believe the prophecy would say that I am a hero destined to save the universe!" Lianna said happily. "Well, it also said Bowser was one of the heroes, so I guess it's not that far-fetched. Still, I'm really happy that you're here with us." Luigi smiled.

Lianna smiled happily again. They found the next Heart Pillar. "Now there is only a single Pure Heart left. Then we can stop Blumiere..." Tippi said. "Blumiere?" Lianna asked in confusion. "Wait, did I say Blumiere? Why did I say that? I meant to say Count Bleck..." Tippi said. Lianna looked concern about Tippi. "Luigi, you want to put the heart into the pillar this time?" Mario asked Luigi.

"Oh, ok bro." Luigi replied. He took the Pure Heart and placed it in the pillar. A Purple Door formed with the rest of the doors. The final door in Flipside. "Ok, let's head back to Flipside." Tippi said. Mario, Luigi and Lianna headed back to Flipside. They entered into the final door on Flipside.
