It was night time at the Mushroom Kingdom, and everyone was reunited to celebrate the Grand Finale of the Mushroom Basketball Tournament.

- "Welcome everybody, to the Grand Finale of the Mushroom Basketball Tournament!" A Toad announcer said happily, making all the crowd shout of excitement. "We are happy to have you here on this beautiful night! Without further ado, let's give a big welcome to the winning teams!"

In one corner we have Team Luigi, composed by:

- Luigi
- Daisy
- Yoshi

Team Luigi were greeting the crowd as they entered the stadium. It was time for the other team to come out, but out of nowhere, all of the lights in the stadium shut down. Suddenly, a strange blue light was popping from the corner where the second team was suppose to come out. Finally, the lights around the stadium came back, and the opponent team has been revealed:

Team Boo, which was composed of:

- A random Boo
- Waluigi... for some reason
- and last but not least, King Boo himself.

- "Whahaha!" King Boo laughed loudly, letting himself be heard across the stadium.

- "Oh no!" Luigi said in fear.

Noticing Luigi's physical trembling, Daisy decided to cheer him up with a big "OK!". This resulted in Luigi getting some encouragement, but only barely.

- "Come to the center of the stadium!" A Lakitu said, who was also the referee.

Both Luigi and King Boo got into the center, face to face.

- "Let the game begin!" The referee said after blowing a whistle.

The Lakitu threw the basketball upward; both Luigi and King Boo tried to be the first to get the ball, been King Boo the one to successfully reach it. He then passed it quickly to Waluigi, who started running straight to his team's correspondent hoop.

On his way he stumbled with Yoshi, who was blocking his way. Waluigi made Yoshi believed that he was about to pass the ball to one of his teammates, tricking him on the act. He left Yoshi with a sad face.

Waluigi was about to score for his team, but that was when Daisy came out of nowhere and stole the ball from him. She started running to the other side of the stadium, hoping to reach her team's hoop and give them a score. However, Boo appeared right above her and stole the ball. He then throw it at Waluigi, who made an awesome jump and hooped the ball in, giving a score to his team.

- "That was a nice hoop from Waluigi!" the Toad said loudly. "Team Boo gets the first score!"

- "Wahahaha! I won I woooon!" Waluigi said to Luigi, mocking him on the act.

Luigi felt dissapointed for a moment, but he had no intention of giving up right now. Since Team Boo got the first score, the ball was passed to Team Luigi this time.

*The referee blows the whistle*

Luigi started running straight to his team's hoop. Waluigi tried to stop him, but Luigi managed to pass the ball to Daisy, who managed to catch it. The Boo once again appears above her, but Daisy prevent him from stealing the ball from her and kept running; she then passed the ball to Luigi once again.

Luigi was close to the hoop, but for his misfortune, King Boo appeared right in front of him and gave him a menacing stare. Luigi was scared for a moment, but he then saw a good opening: he threw the ball right above King Boo, and suddenly, Yoshi jumped with style and hooped the ball in, giving a score for his team.

- "Aaand here is the comeback!" The Toad shouted. "Score for Team Luigi!"

Team Luigi were cheering for each other, while King Boo was yelling at Waluigi and Boo.

Since Team Luigi scored this time, the ball was past to King Boo.

The Lakitu blows the whistle*

Team Luigi got into position, blocking any way where Team Boo could pass... this strategy was pointless at the end. King Boo started to be covered by blue flames, and suddenly he got some kind of fiery energy. It was his special move, which he used to throw the ball directly to the hoop, taking a new score for his team.

- "Oooooh! That was outstanding!" The Toad said excited. "Team Boo gets another score!"

- "That Toad really needs to be quiet!" said by a Goomba who was watching the game from his living room.

Sadly, Team Luigi lost this set against Team Boo, so now they've had to come with a new strategy during the break time.

The break time was over, and Team Luigi was ready to take on Team Boo with a new tactic. The crowd started to cheer as both teams were entering the stadium once again. Luigi and King Boo got face to face, waiting for the referee to throw the ball.

The referee blows the whistle and throws the ball upwards. King Boo levitated to reach it, but Luigi made a huge jump and grabbed it first, all before stomping King Boo's head. Full of anger, King Boo ordered both Boo and Waluigi to stop him.

On the way Luigi stumbles with Boo, who multiplied himself in an attempt to confuse him. Luigi was lost for a moment, but he then saw a ? Block on the ground and saw a chance to free himself from the situation. He quickly got the item inside the box, and for his luck, it was a powerful Blue Shell. He throws it upwards and gets out of the way. All the Boos started to fly around, but that didn't stopped the Blue Shell from hitting the real deal. Luigi got the way opened and kept going.

He now had Waluigi on his way. Not willing to let him get any chances, Yoshi got an item from another ? block, and coincidentally, it was holding a Yoshi Egg. He throws it right at Waluigi and successfully hits him, letting Luigi get more closer to his team's hoop.

Finally, Luigi was about to score a point for his team, but he had to pass another obstacle first. King Boo appeared in front of him, but instead of trying to scare him, he decided to trap Luigi inside his ghostly body.

- "Wahahaha! What are you going to do now Luigi?" King Boo said arrogantly.

However, Luigi did have a trick under his sleeves. He started getting covered by green flames, and by doing it, he activated his special move. This gave him the strength to get out of King Boo's body, and pass the ball through the hoop, giving his teammates a new score.

- "Wooooohoooo! That is a way of owning your oponent!" The Toad shouted loudly. "Team Luigi gets the score!"

- "That's it! I'm muting this TV and watch this game without hearing that Toad's annoying voice!" The same Goomba from the living room said angrily.

Team Luigi had Team Boo right on the palm of their hands during the entire 2nd set, which eventually led them to victory... there was still a problem though: both teams won at least one set from the two they were playing at.

- "Would you look at that! It looks like both teams ended on a tie! You know what that means right?" The Toad said excited.

- "WHERE THE KOOPA IS THE CONTROL REMOTE!?" the Goomba from the living room said desperately.

- "Both of you will be playing a new set." the Lakitu referee explained. "Whoever scores first wins. Now get in position!"

*Luigi and King Boo got face to face one last time*

- "Ready?" Lakitu said before blowing the whistle again.

He throws the ball one last time. Not taking any risks, King Boo flies quickly and grabs the ball, all while pushing Luigi on the act. Accidentally as it was, King Boo was not going to feel any remorse from that.

Without any hesitation, King Boo gets to his hoop and quickly tries to take the score, but Yoshi steals the ball from him with his large tongue. He then runs quickly to the other side of the stadium, only to be knocked down by Waluigi, who was using a Power Star at the moment. Waluigi takes the ball and passed it to the Boo.

The Boo starts to fly quickly to the hoop, but before he could even score, Daisy slided below him after stealing the ball from his hands. She then takes the ball back to his team's hoop, but she got blocked by all of Team Boo. She didn't see any way she could pass through, but she then saw Yoshi on the distance, who gave her a sign of trust. Afterwards, she saw Luigi close to their hoop, who gave her a signal to throw the ball at him. After making a smile, she tricked all of Team Boo in passing the ball to Yoshi, giving her a chance to throw the ball to Luigi. By the time Team Boo caught Luigi with the ball, he already made a backflip and got the ball through the hoop, giving the victory to his team.

- "And the winning team iiiissss... TEAM LUIGI!" The Toad shouted loudly.

- "Zzzzzzzz..." the Goomba was snoring in his living room, with the TV on mute.

Team Luigi hugged each other and started jumping around in celebration.

On the other side, Boo and Waluigi were running from King Boo, who was trying to bite them out of anger.

This will be one night to remember for Luigi and his teammates.
