Saturday night was Sushi takeaway and of course Hermione spent most of it glued to the telly. Ron did not mind though, his conversation with Harry had helped him understand Hermione and hatch an idea to connect with her. Ron plopped down on the couch next to her where she was focused on beating the boss of the last castle, some spiky turtle dude on steroids called Bowser. In Ron's opinion even Voldemort was a better villain name than Bowser. Hermione's thumbs were pounding the remote buttons and she was yelling some colorful words at Bowser who was floating above Mario in some creepy clown car. Ron thought the whole thing was bonkers.

"I got you something to eat Hermione," Ron said, placing a container of Hermione's favorite California rolls on the table.

"Thanks Ron," Hermione muttered, she was so close to victory.

Ron watched, his heart thudding with anticipation, as Hermione's tiny plumber kicked Bowser's arse. A message popped up to herald Mario's victory and Peach kissed Mario. Instantly, Peach morphed into a miniature version of Ron kissing a miniature version of Hermione! The real Hermione gasped and dropped her controller. As the fireworks exploded on the screen, Hermione's eyes welled up with tears and she turned to Ron. " Oh Ron, you did this!"

Ron nodded and grinned, his cheeks turning redder than his hair. " Sure did," he admitted. " I just wanted to remind you how much you mean to me. Whether your nose is in a book or a video game, you're always in my heart Hermione." 

"Ron Weasley, has anyone ever told you what a sweet guy you are?" Hermione asked softly.

"Guess this means we might be able to get out of the house and catch a movie, you know, like a date?" Ron asked hopefully.

Hermione laughed, tossing back her curly hair. "Of course Ron, after I study." 

"Oh yeah, sure that's what I meant," Ron chuckled nervously.

Hermione burst into laughter and shook her head. "Just kidding, we can go out later, as long as you promise to play a round of Mario Kart with me, I'm pretty sure I can beat your arse again." 

"I'm pretty sure you will," Ron agreed, as Hermione leaned in and snogged him right on the lips! Ron closed his eyes and fireworks exploded behind them as Hermione kissed him again.
