Chapter 1 Genisis
"How does one change the world. Are we masters of our own destiny, or are we controlled by fate? And why would you wanna eat at a place who's jingle includes the line, when it comes back up it's twice as nice. I do not want to eat at a place that will make me throw up."
Lori Loud was now 22. She was coming home from college. She had not seen her siblings in 4 years.
She had wanted to return home many times, life had gotten in the way, however. She agreed to pick up Bobby on the way back. It has been a few months since they had seen each other, finals hadn't helped with that.
She parked outside the Casagrande house and honked the horn of the beat-up car that was the best a college student with her budget could afford.
"I hope you don't mind if Ronnie Anne comes along." Bobby said. "She really misses Lincoln."
"It's not like I'm miserable without him." Ronnie Anne protested. "I just think it would be nice to see him again."
"Sure thing." Lori smiled.
...
Lincoln was at home playing a video game. Luna sat next to him applying for collages. It was the end of the school year and Luna would be graduating soon.
"Can you keep that down bra? I'm trying to concentrate." Luna said.
"Oh sorry." Lincoln said.
"These schools all look way to fancy for me..." Luna said to herself. "What am I even going to do with my life?"
"Well I didn't go to college, and I turned out fine." Leni added.
Leni had become the manager of Reininger's, the store she worked at. With Leni's grades, not a college in the country would accept her. So, this was the best she could have done.
"Well you got lucky." Luna said. "I don't have that kind of luck."
Then the doorbell rang.
Lincoln got up to answer it.
"Lori!" Lincoln said with excitement. Then he gave Lori a hug.
"Hey Lincoln." Lori said.
"I wasn't expecting you." Lincoln said, breaking away from the hug.
"Well I just finished my last semester, so I thought I would come home and surprise you." Lori said. "And I have another surprise for you."
Bobby and Ronnie Anne followed Lori into the house.
"'Sup Lame-o" Ronnie Anne teased.
"Not much punk." Lincoln smiled back. "Hey, you gonna be staying a while?"
"Yeah sure." Ronnie Anne said.
"Cool," Lincoln said. "Because my sisters and I were going to have a fire out in the back. Then Lisa was going to reveal her new invention."
"New invention?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"Yeah, she said it has something to do with clean energy." Lincoln said. "supposedly it's going to change the world."
The two friends made small talk for a few moments, catching up on old times, telling silly stories about their own lives and laughing at them.
Then there was a knock on the door.
Lincoln opened the door to find Chandler. At one time Chandler was an enemy of Lincoln's, but after an incident involving a haunted house. Lincoln and Chandler had become friends. Not really "Hey let's have a sleep over and play games with each other" type of friends. More like the "Hey I'll let you borrow my textbook every now and then" type of friends.
"Hey, thanks for letting me borrow your textbook." Chandler said, handing a textbook to Lincoln.
See, what did I tell you?
"Uh, yeah anytime." Lincoln said. "Hey you wanna come in? My sister is going to be unveiling a new invention that should change the world."
"Change the world huh? Yeah I'll bet." Chandler said in a sarcastic tone. "So, you got any food or what?"
"Yeah sure." Lincoln said as Chandler made his way inside.
The siblings gathered in the back yard.
"Hey guys, you remember Chandler, right?" Lincoln said.
"Ugh, that guy." Lori groaned.
"Hey, don't you usually hang out with that Clyde kid?" Chandler asked.
"He's on vacation with his dads." Lincoln replied. "Won't be back until Monday."
Lisa came out of the house with some high-tech looking device. It looked like some sort of generator but with a clean look to it. It was a shiny silver color, like it was made out of some fancy space age metal.
The siblings gathered around her.
"So, what is that thing?" Chandler asked. "Some sort of engine?"
"No, but close." Lisa replied. "It's a device that should create a self-sustaining source of energy. I call it the Loud-atomiser-array-energy... you know I haven't really came up with a name yet. But it should rid mankind of our dependence on fossil fuels within the next five years.
You guys will be the first to see it turned on. Then I will show it off at the UN."
Lisa flipped the on switch. The device started to shake and glow. Then it let out a blinding flash of light. Then it burst into flames.
"Gah!" Lisa yelled. "Get the fire extinguisher!"
Lori ran into the house and came out with a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
"Wow, That really was earth shattering." Chandler said sarcastically. "Well I gotta go. See ya dorks later."
"Well I thought it was cool." Lincoln said. "Maybe next time it'll work."
