Part 9

A hand on your cheek makes your eyes ease open to Sunny. "Hey..." You murmur sleepily. Sunny frowns before looking to the doorway.

"Law! She has a fever!" He calls. Law comes in, checking your forehead.

"Good call Sunny." He murmurs, helping you sit up and take some medicine. "I'm taking Sunny to school, and then maybe going to class myself. Unless you want me to stay? By the time we return you'll be able to take more medicine." He tells you, resting a hand on your shoulder.

"I'll be fine, plus Red's here." You glance over at the super in the doorway. He now wore a black button up shirt and black jeans. You had to admit, he looked hot in those clothes. Too bad his mask still hid his face. Law glances back at him before sighing quietly.

"I'll check in on you through out the day... Try to relax." He frowns softly before getting up. Sunny hugs your neck, starting to sniffle.

"Are you going to be okay?" He sniffs.

"Of course, just a little fever! Don't worry, and remember, my best friend is an awesome doctor." You breathe hugging him. "Who helped when you had the chicken pox?"

"You and Law..."

"And when you caught the flu?"

"You and Law."

"And who was the one that put your shoulder back in place when you fell from the jungle gym at the park?"

"Law.."

"See? I'll be fine, Law's a genius!" You giggle lightly tickling him. Sunny giggles back pulling away with a smile. Law smiles too, patting Sunny's shoulder.

"Come on, lets get you to school." Law rumbles leading him out past RedDemon. You sigh and lay back.

"I'm missing so much school..." You groan putting a hand over your eyes.

"Im sure it'll be fine." RedDemon comments with a shrug. You look over at him with a slight pout. "Are you hungry?" He asks awkwardly.

"I have a feeling that if you cook something is going to catch on fire..." You roll to your side peering at him exhausted.

"You're right... I cant cook... I think we're better off ordering something." He says dropping his arms.

"Get the list." You smile a bit and he swiftly goes out. He returns, crawling into bed with you so you can both look at the list.

"Since you're sick, I'm thinking the soup place." He points.

"Too hot... What about this one?" You murmur pointing as well.

"Hmmm. Tell you what... Lets order from this place. They have everything so you can get both." He breathes.

"Both sounds good." You smile, moving closer to him. "How's your injury?" You murmur. He unbuttons his shirt and you move it to look at the stump. "It looks good... Youre healing nicely... Sorry, this is going to slow me down." You sigh, buttoning his shirt up again.

"Don't worry about it. Just get better." He sits up. You watch him quietly and pout a bit. ".... What?.." He inquires.

"My phone's on my nightstand." You murmur. "You're not going to let me hear your voice are you?" You guess.

"Nope." He chuckles, grabbing your phone and going out. You pout more and curl up, taking off your shirt in an attempt to cool off. He soon comes back in and pauses, coming over and moving the blankets off of you. He touches your arm and tsks before turning on your fan. "You okay?"

"Yeah... Just feels so hot..." You breathe, looking up at him.

"Can I-" He breaks off when you roll to your back and pull him down into your chest. "What...?"

"Just... Don't talk." You murmur, closing your eyes and holding him close. The super was stunned to say the least, not sure what to do at all. You nuzzle his neck, closing your eyes. He relaxes after a while, arms wrapping around you.

"I better not get sick." He scoffs.

"I think we both know this isn't a normal fever." You whisper.

"Still, I don't think I want to be this close in case you catch on fire." He mutters.

"Yeah you're right..." You release him. He sits back and rubs his neck.

"You want anything else?" You blink at his question before looking to the ceiling.

"I want... To eat on the roof. What about you?" You breathe.

"You're gonna need a shirt for that, it's windy today." He says getting up and getting a tanktop from your drawer. You sit up and pull on the shirt.

"Did they say how long it'll take?" You murmur getting up.

"Not long, they're across the street right?" He looks out your window. "Someone's bringing it over right now." He tells you.

"Awesome... Did you get drinks?" You ask, moving for your door carefully.

"No. Your boyfriend brought back some water bottles." He helps you out carefully.

"Not my boyfriend, best friend." You correct.

"Sure." He huffs. You spare a glance at him and smile. There's a knock on the door and you go over to open it, taking the bags the delivery guy offered. You thank them and hand it to RedDemon.

"I'll grab a blanket." You smile at him before going to do so.

As RedDemon had said, it was windy on the roof. It all felt refreshing to you. "Give me that." He says behind his mask, chopsticks going for your chicken. You stop his chopsticks with yours.

"Nu uh sweetheart, you gotta trade me." You smirk.

"Mmm... Cookie?" He tosses you one. You look at it and chuckle.

"Alright take two, hows the soup?" You ask.

"Its good, try it." He rumbles before moving his mouth piece away to eat. You hum and try the soup.

"That is good, try this." You offer him a bite. He hums eating some and licks his lips, giving a thumbs up. You smile a bit and look out at the city as a super fight breaks out a few blocks away. "Can you see who it is?"

"Looks like Massacre Soldier and Monk are at it again." He comments.

"Ten dollars on Monk." You hum.

"Are you kidding me? He has nothing on Soldier!" Red scoffs. You chuckle at his immediate defense to your statement.

"Then you wont be the one paying ten dollars." You hold out your hand with a smirk. He hums and takes your hand, giving a shake. For a moment, it felt familiar to you. Shaking away the thought, you both move to face the fight.

Soldier and Monk were pretty well matched actually. You and Red were having fun just watching and eating, sometimes nudging eachother win your super started to win or lose. Unfortunately, their fight was interrupted by Super Rex. You and RedDemon look at eachother.

"So... Tie?" He inquires.

"Yep," You sigh rubbing your cheek. You move to pick up the containers but stop when he cups your cheek. You blink and look at him in surprise, heat rising to your cheeks.

"Fever's gone." He comments, but even after he says that, his hand doesn't move away. You can feel his eyes meeting yours behind his eyeshield. You give a smile and touch his hand thoughtfully.

"I do feel better, thanks Red." You breathe pulling away.

"... No problem..." He coughs before helping you grab what was left. You pause, looking at the edge of the building. Walking over you smile as you look over the edge at everything below.

"Hey... When you get your arm back, will you take me for a fly?" You ask, peering back at him.

"That was your price." He rumbles.

"I know..." You straighten up and turn to him with a smile. "But if you did it on your own that would be nice too..." He pauses at that before stepping forward and bringing you into his chest as everything shakes. You blink up at him in surprise. That hidden gaze slid over your face again, locking with your eyes.

".... We should get inside..." He breathes.

"Right..." You murmur before leading him down to the apartment. You felt weird, well not weird, but you had this... Craving? To kiss him. You rub at your face blushing at the thought.

"Are you okay?" He touches your shoulder.

"Im going to take another shower." You say swiftly, moving out of the way. He watches you disappear into your room quickly.

"What did I do?" He mutters.

"Red! Don't scratch at it!" You scold swiftly going over and moving his hand away from the stump. You frown and sit beside him, blowing on the scarring skin softly. "I'll get the medicine for the itch in a bit, okay?" You rub the scratch marks softly.

"Damn thing..." He sighs moving his hand to touch it again but you catch his hand.

"Hey now, none of that Red." You kiss his knuckles softly. "I told you it was going to be okay." You kiss the stump. "And it is going to be..." You breathe getting up after catching yourself. So the shower obviously didn't work, maybe sketching will keep you from doing anymore-

"Sketchbook...." Where did you leave it? With Franky, who also is holding Kid's motorcycle for you... "Shit..." You put a hand over your eyes starting to feel sick again.

"Hey... Lay down." He tells you carefully.

"Okay..." You murmur before going to your room and laying down. You blink up at the ceiling and frown, restless. He comes in, placing a water bottle on the nightstand before checking your temperature. You close your eyes briefly. "Im bored."

"Oh? Is that why you're acting..." He trails off, trying to find the word.

"Freaking weird? Yeah, probably because I have nothing to distract me from the mysterious and nicely built super villain in my apartment." You respond looking to the side. "As a plus, you're good with my brother and I feel safe..." His hand presses down on the bed next to your head as he leans down, mask looming just over your face.

There was a glare piercing you, but it was halfhearted. "Don't think so highly of me ___. I'm using you for your mind now." He growls. You blink and giggle lightly.

"Well, then I'm honored," You smirk up at him. "Being recognized by such a strong super." He freezes at that before lowering himself more.

"That careless attitude will get you killed." He warns lowly.

"Good thing I'm only careless when it comes to you." You whisper, pressing the button on the side of his helmet, making the mouthpiece move away before leaning up and kissing him. He pauses, letting out a breath against your lips before swiftly pulling away and covering his mouth. A dark blush kisses all over his visible skin before he quickly leaves the room.

"Worth it." You whisper laying back with a smile, closing your eyes.
