Chapter II
I started this thing where every chapter I put a quote, to make sure you all know you're beautiful :)
J e r o m e
So I just met this kid, who's not really a kid. If he was it'd be kinda weird to say I might like him. I know I just met him, but he's just like me.
We're both Super humans, I never thought there would be someone else like me, and I guess Mitch use to feel the same way until we met.
Right now Mitch is taking me on a tour, of his enormous house. Room after room, they all look the fucking same. Same old house style in each room, room after room, literally! It's all to confusing.
"Uh Mitch, not gonna lie here, I'm really lost" Mitch chuckles and turns around to face me.
"I get it, I was so confused when I was brought here"
"Wait" I say stopping mid walk "You weren't born into this family?"
"Erm well not really" Mitch responds sheepishly
"Then where were you born?" I ask raising one of my eye brows slightly.
"You sir have a lot of questions don't you?" Mitch replies cheekily. God why does he make me feel this way?
"Well, I mean I guess you could call me Curious" I shrugged a smirk placing itself on my lips.
"Well okay then Mr. Curious. We can make our way to the last big room and talk there, since you seem to have so many questions" Mitch says the same smirk playing on his lips.
"Sounds perfect" I smile. Mitch quickly turns around, back facing away from me. Well I sure as hell found something else I like about this Mitchell character.
--------------------
Finally Mitch and I arrive, in this hallway type thing? It's long, murky and mysterious, Mitch said it was the last big room, I wonder what could be inside. I really hope he isn't some sort of murder, I mean I just got dropped off here so it is a possibility.
Mitch swiftly kicks open the door leading to a big room that's filled with punching bags, workout equipment and screens that show research. "Um Mitch? What is this?" I ask curiosity filling my eyes and tone.
"This" Mitch starts facing towards me again "Is 'my' room in the house"
"So this is your room?"
"Yeah basically. It's like a testing physicality, but not like a torturous place" He chuckles looking down at his feet.
"You know you're cute don't look down" I randomly blurt out. Instantly I cover my mouth with my hand in embarrassment. Mitch's eyes widen slightly and a small smile playing itself on the corner of his lips.
"Hey what's this?" I quickly ask pointing to a running machine thing.
"That's a treadmill Jerome" Mitch laughs
"A treadmill?"
"Have you seriously never heard of a treadmill?" He asks
"Nope" I reply
"Where the fuck have you been living, under a rock?"
"Erm sorta" I shrugged.
"What? Really?" Mitch says looking straight into my eyes, quilt filling his usually cheerful emotion.
"Well not a rock, but in a hidden forest"
"Oh um, if you wouldn't mind, do you want to talk about it?" He inquires quietly.
"So who's Mr Curious now?" I respond chucking as Mitch looks down embarrassed, "Sure, we can talk about it". Mitch looks a little relieved as I finish.
"O-Okay come sit over here then" He points to a sectioned off room filled with couches and bean bag chairs. I follow close behind as we walk over to the room.
We both plop down onto a couch, close to each other but not to close. "So um, you can start wherever you want I guess" Mitch says sitting criss crossed facing me.
"Well, um I don't really remember where I was born, but what I do remember is that I was a very popular baby, my parent's were apparently very rich and when the found out I could shapeshift, they sent me away to a hidden forest, that no one knew existed." Mitch continues to look attentively at me while I talk, he seems very intrigued. Suddenly memories started flashing through my head as I spoke.
Flash back. (Italics are Jerome talking in future tense)
"Mommy where are we going?" Baby Jerome asks very confused, gripping his mom's hand tighter.
"Jerome, hunny" She stops and crouches to my level, "We're taking you to a place where no one can find you" She finishes speaking slightly bitterly.
"Oh okay" I reply, clueless and still quite confused.
Once they arrived at the forest, T-They locked me away there, they got a sourcer to put a spell on the forest so it could be invisible and un enterable, only people who knew about the forest could enter, aka my parents.
"Mommy? Are you leaving me here?" Little Jerome asks tears prickling at the edge of his eyes.
"Yes Jerome, your mother and I can't have a monster like you living in our town" My father cuts in selfishly and bitterly.
He didn't like me one bit.
"O-Oh o-okay" I say tears now staining my small cheeks.
"Don't worry Jerome, we'll visit once and a while" Mother says uneasily.
I had 4 other siblings, so it made it somewhat easier for them to forget I existed.
Many nights I had spent crying, and helpless, until I decided I really needed to get my ass in gear. I was alone now, and I had to live for myself, no one else.
One night, I was out hunting for my dinner when I found something. I think I was about 15 or 16.
"Come out, come out wherever you are" I growl, as my teeth grow in and I start to shift into the beast my parents thought I was.
I sped and zipped through trees and bushes until I ran into something invisible. At first I thought it was just the wall the sorcerer had set on the forest.
"What the hell?" I say, sniffing around the invisible thing, looking for an explanation. Slowly I walked around still in my Bacca form. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a piece of paper. Gently I ripped it off the tree and read it slowly since my reading skills weren't the best.
I remember everything that happened that night.
Congrats Jerome Aceti
You have finally found the exist. I'm guessing you are much smarter and stronger then when I first saw you. You've had much time to master the skill of shapeshifting. So here is my present to you, your freedom.
I do apologize for putting this wall around your forest, if I didn't do what your parents asked my family would've been killed.
Once I found out about you, I talked to my wife and we both agreed that whenever you escaped you could immediately come to us. We'd be happy to have you, don't worry about your parents. They asked me to remove you from there memories.
If you're reading this, we live on *Insert address*. We're excited to meet the new you.
Sincerely
-Jack the sorcerer
That was the day I escaped and I left my many years of hell and loneliness in that forest.
Flash Back over
I hadn't realized that I was crying halfway through, until Mitch came to sit with me and wipe my tears. "Jerome I had no idea, I can never imagine how horrible that must've been" Mitch says sadly as he looks directly into my eyes.
"I-I'm sorry" I stutter looking down at my lap
"Why are you sorry?" Mitch asks lifting my chin up with his index finger.
"I just basically vented to you"
"Why should you be sorry Jerome? You are so strong, and I could never survive going through what you did. You are by far the strongest and most beautiful human I've ever met, and I mean that." He softly grabs one of my hands and laces our fingers together.
God I love him. I-I mean yeah I do.
"Thank you so much Mitch. You're making me feel not so alone" I say sheepishly.
"Anything for you" Mitch says gently kissing my forehead. "Now let's go back out there, so you can meet my 'parents'" He concludes pulling me up our hands still intertwined.
I definitely like this Mitch character
A/N: I DID IT! I AM SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPDATED! I was having really really bad anxiety.
And I'm going for surgery on Monday so yeah, that's also been not helping with my anxiety. I will try and update things as much as I can before then. But no promises.
I have to go, I am not going shopping, yay :/
I love all you beautiful humans, ducks, squirrels or whatever you are. <3
