Chapter 5

Mario, Luigi, and Lightning followed the Eevee spirits to Eeveeville. On their way there, Lightning spots the Cemetery called Graveyard of Lost heroes. She sees a certain Eevee statue and as if she was in a trance, she walked towards it, forgetting about how they had to get to the Eevee Village. "Lightning, where are you going?!" Luigi asked. Lightning seemed like she either didn't hear him or ignored him as she continued walking towards the cemetery.

They knew they were not going to get an answer from her so they decided to take a short detour to see what she was up to.

Lightning looked at the Eevee statue with wide eyes. It had a piece of torn cloth around its neck. A blue bandana worn by the Eevee when he was alive. Lightning then began to run towards it. The brothers followed her. They watched as Lightning put her head against the Eevee statue's chest. They noticed that she seemed to be crying. She looked up with teary eyes at the statue. "So this is where they buried you...".

"Whose this?" Mario asked, curiously. Luigi even cocked his head is curiosity.

"An old friend of mine. His name was Dusk... We were best friends even mates before I joined the squad. We were going to join together. He was going to be my partner but..."

"He died right before you joined the squad, didn't he?" Luigi asked, sullenly.

Lightning didn't answer but instead just nodded and looked down at the ground. "He died as a hero though. A fire broke out in the forest and one of the Pichu of the village got lost. He went out in the flames to save her. She escaped the burning flames but before Dusk got out... a burning tree fell on him. Crushed and burned him alive... All in front of me... I WATCHED HIM DIE AND I DIDNT DO ANYTHING!!!" She then burst into tears and rested her head against the statue again.

Mario and Luigi put a paw on her shoulder. "We're so sorry... That sounds terrible to experience something like that..."

Lightning then turned and looked up to the sky, now getting dark to prepare for nighttime.

Lightning sniffed and wiped her tears away. "A-atleast he gets to be with his old Charmander friend, Spike again though. Up in the spirit world... Watching over me... and wishing me well in the Squad."

"They must be proud of you for managing to reach your goal and not give up." Mario said. "We always believed in doing something that you enjoy doing in life,"

"Yeah... you're right, Mario" Lightning replied. She then noticed how late it was. "We should probably go. It's getting dark and we still need to get to Eeveeville before something bad happens. The later and darker it gets, the easier we will encounter bad Pokémon."

"That is a wise choice, young Pikachu. We are not too far away from our destination. We should get going." The ghost Espeon, Clairvoya replied.

                                    ⚡️⚡️⚡️
After 15 minutes longer of walking, they finally made it safely to Eeveeville. Many Eevees and Eeveelution residents made their home in this part of the forest. "Wow!! This is a very nice looking village you got here." Luigi complimented, looking around the rather big Village.

"Thanks it takes a lot of work of our fellow hardworking Villagers here to take care of it..." a kind feminine voice spoke from behind him. He turned to see a rather young looking female Eevee in front of them. "I'm Faith! It's nice to meet you all. You seem to be some friendly visitors. I see that the spirits have brought you here. You must be the ones we have been searching for. What are you names?"

"I'm Mario! It's nice to meet you Faith."  Mario said with a smile, shaking her paw in greeting. Luigi slowly and rather timidly stepped forward. "I'm Luigi." He replied. "Hmmm... You seem rather shy... Relax... You are quite safe as long as you stay in a group."
A sudden voice then spoke up in the crowd of Eeveelutions. "He seems to be more of the vulnerable type. The weaker ones. You know the ones who can be easily tricked by the Dark One into getting into the dark power. I feel like he may put us in danger." A harsh male voice spoke up. A Shiny Flareon stepped forward. Upon hearing the Flareon's hurtful words, Luigi backed up and hid behind Mario and Lightning.

"Crimson!! That wasn't very nice to say about our new guests!! That isn't a way to welcome them!! Those were some hurtful words that you just said and I advise you to apologize." Faith spoke in disappointment.

"Hm..." the Shiny Flareon just grunted. "Fine! I apologize!" He said but before turning around and walking away he quietly whispered, "I sense some bad intentions in that green one. I feel the envy for heroism in his darkening heart, hiding behind the light of love of his loved ones. His ambiguous soul is questionable. I don't trust him one bit. He reminds me of the dark one himself. Only he is capable of choosing the right path, either the path of good and light or the path of evil and darkness. Only time will tell what he truly desires to be a part of more."

Luigi looked down. Unsure what the Shiny Flareon meant. The Flareon also seemed to be more different from any other Flareon. He was more special than just being a shiny. He was hiding something that no other Flareon was capable of doing. It was as if he could see the future without being psychic.

"Don't listen to him Luigi. You seem alright to me. Come with me! I will show you around for a bit. We'll make sure you are safe and well cared for here." She then stopped in realization. She quickly realized that Lightning never introduced herself to her. "Who are you, Pikachu?"

"My name is Lightning. Member of the famous Starter Squad and one of the residents of the Pikachu Village."

"Nice to meet you, Lightning." Faith stated, shaking paws with each other in greeting.

From hearing the sound of her name, an Espeon, Umbreon and Glaceon stepped out of the crowd. "Lightning?! Lightning! It's been so long since we've seen you last. How has it been?" The Espeon responded happily.

"Amethyst? It's been fine. It's nice to see you again. Same to you too Shade and Krystal."

"Indeed it is." Krystal replied with a smile, wagging her Diamond-tipped tail.

"I see that you have found two new Eevee friends!" Shade said.

"Yeah. They call themselves the Mario Brothers. The shorter red clad Eevee is the older brother, Mario. And the taller green clad Eevee is the younger brother, Luigi."

"Nice to meet you Mario and Luigi!" They replied.

"Oh! I didn't mean to intrude in your conversation but I just wanted to mention that we had another visiter come in not too long ago. Could he be a part of your group too? He's the Shiny Eevee with the strange looking glasses with an electric ghost dog and green Ditto over there." Faith questioned, pointing to the three Pokémon sitting under a tree. "He seemed to be quite a peculiar character mentioning how he wasn't from this world. If you two really are the ones we are looking for that came from another world, I would assume that you know who he is."

Mario and Luigi turned to look. Luigi gasped in surprise, when he realized that the Shiny Eevee looked familiar. "E. Gadd?! Professor?! What are you doing here?"

_____________________________
Finally managed to finish this chapter. I've been trying to finish it for a while but then forgot about finishing it.

So there are a few things that reference the Light in the Dark series on my first account and teases a few major things as well. But it would have taken me several months to get to that point in the series and I didn't want this to never be updated so I decided to just reveal it now in this book and write what actually happens in the Light in the dark series books. Now E. Gadd and Polterpup have met up with the brothers in the Pokémon world.

The Flareon is capable of telling the future. I did this to reference a certain Disney movie. He just wants to hide the fact that he can tell the future because he has had moments when Pokémon thought he was crazy and just brings bad luck. So... if you've seen the movie, I'm pretty sure you can guess what I mean.

Anyways hope you enjoyed ^U^
