Chapter Twenty Six - On the same page

The next day I stuck to the library anytime I wasn't in class. Hard to start an argument when your not in the same room or in a room full of people that will break you up and make you talk calmly about your problems. I retreated to my normalcy which was books and knowledge, easier to deal with than judgmental people. Hypocritical I know but whatever.

"Hiding out again?" This time it was Whitney. He sat down across from me "I ask your friends where you were. They figured here." I glanced up at him for a moment

"They seem to think you and Clark are at war, neither of you are speaking to the other. So what gives.?"

"Why do you care? You can't stand Clark." I stop what I was doing.

"But I can stand you. So what did you fight about?" he questions and I drop my pencil

"Your girlfriend." his eyebrows furrowed "Don't act so shocked, the only person who can't tell my brother has a crush on your girlfriend, is your girlfriend." he sighed his shoulders sagging a little

"Never heard someone say it out loud before."

"I'm guessing thats why you jumped him months ago and made him the scarecrow. Still annoyed at you for that either way. Lana doesn't fully know it, despite the neon sign above my brothers head, but I think she suspects and unknowingly manages to mess with his feelings. Unlike my brother, she can seem to decipher mine pretty easily, confronted me yesterday, even got jealous herself." I explained to him

"Over what?" he asked and I gave him a pointed look "Us?" i nod closing my eyes for a brief moment.

"Aside from telling her that basically neither of us act how she and Clark does. My actions mainly stem from not liking many people in general, she just gets special bitchness because she has a good time messing with my brother. That then led to a argument between Clark and me hence why were not talking to each other right now. I feel like this whole drama is on repeat. There are more worrying things like your jerk off friend get fat sucked dry."

"You caring about someone you hate now that is a shocker." I chuckled "I better go. My Dad's driving me and we're staying over night." he stood up

"Good luck." he flashed me a smile and headed off. I was hungry and I couldn't well starve and avoid at the same time, well I could but then that would mean avoiding everyone and my argument isn't with Pete or Chloe. I went to the cafeteria and grabbed my lunch then sat next to Chloe.

"I gotta fly, we'll talk about this later." Clark left

"Wow, who needs to go to the artic when the artic comes to you. I've never seen you guys like this before." she commented

"I'm not having the same conversation again. Tell me something that isn't to do with Clark, Lana or this stupid birthday party." I sigh praying she would just change the subject for once.

"Okay. We just saw Jodi gorging like there was going to be a food shortage of meat. And she's lost weight agin." She thankfully went against the habit of a lifetime which I was grateful for.

"How big of a gorge and how much weight?" I wondered

"Like down to the bone and at least another 30 pounds." she answered and I thought about it.

"okay separate the two things. There is not natural way possible bad or good to shed at least 60 points in just a couple of days." I thought out loud

"Any medical facts for the eating, everything in sight?" she wondered

"That one's easy high percentage of people who become over weight and lose it through...vicarious means gorge on food for various mental health reasons. The trick is diagnosing said reason. You know what I think this calls for?"

"What?"

"You butting your nose into where it doesn't belong." she smiled "No one does it better or faster than Chloe Sullivan."

"I'm on it." she left me on my own, making me chuckle."
