The Legend

Doggie was such an uncreative name for the tiny, hairy Yorkshire terrier, who had a bigger spirit than his body, but alas Grandma was getting too old to remember even basic things like if she had washed the dishes or locked the door at night. Just like the Pup, she was full of love, and so Doggie never felt neglected. He often wondered who his hero was. Grandma would be one, but there was also one, who was so spectacular, he would brag about knowing her all day and night if he could talk.

The streets and dark alleyways still felt nostalgic to Doggie. He was covered in mud all the time, rummaging through trash, howling at the bright moon. Days turned to months, and what started as a drizzle was growing daily into an unending rainstorm; as the roads flooded, the hopeless canine waited for his inevitable fate to either starve or drown in the waters, but as he sank into the pools, a sudden gleam from a piece of metal caused him to squint his eyes.

She seemed like a glorified girl scout: a seven or eight-year-old girl with a bright scarlet cape and green robes adorned with badges for her several accomplishes. However, the badges were far too strange looking for Doggie to understand what she had accomplished. He couldn't quite see her face apart from her eyes that as he gazed into caused him to feel extremely drowsy. Once he awoke from the hypnosis, he was in the arms of the woman who was now his beloved Grandma. Super Badge had not only saved his life but also given him the loveliest home.

Not much was known about Super Badge, but there were rumors and legends. She would fly across the sky on a full moon night casting a shadow on its face. Her ability to put people to sleep was the most well-known. It is said that if you are an insomniac, or just tired from not being able to sleep, Super Badge would arrive at your window sill, and with a simple look, she would let you rest and have the sweetest dreams. She also put to rest people who were wounded- sometimes critically- and those who were ready to leave the world after completing their life. She made sure they were all at peace.

She had saved the world several times- each time earning a badge that was also a seal of protection. Countless people sought to steal the badges for wealth and exploitation, but Super Badge was too powerful for them to take them from her. She was immortal and unageing. Her wounds healed automatically. It was impossible to fatally wound her. Doggie didn't know yet that he would become her sidekick going on several adventures with her. He would also be unfortunate enough to witness the miraculous death of the immortal being and be tasked with guarding her badges to protect the world.
