Purple - WooSan ¦ Special #4

During all the years Wooyoung and San had been married, they never really had an extravagant birthday celebration for their son, Yongbok, although they had more than enough money to do so. They didn't really think it was necessary considering he probably wouldn't remember at such a young age but now that he was turning seventeen, they decided it was time to do something that would remain memorable.

“He's a big boy now,” Wooyoung stated, laying with San on their bed. “I think we should do something wild so that it leaves a lasting impression.”

“But I don't want him to get hurt either,” San said with a sigh. “As long as you don't suggest something crazy like swimming with crocodiles.”

Wooyoung laughed, nuzzling his head into the mop of soft hair on top of San’s head. He loved his husband's blue hair and he couldn't help but to continuously touch it.

“I hate swimming anyways. Let's go skydiving instead,” Wooyoung suggested. “We can take Binnie along as well so it'll be more entertaining and I'm sure Yongbok would appreciate that.”

San and Wooyoung looked at each other with knowing looks. Changbin and Yongbok had been the best of friends for years and by the looks of it, hormones in the young males were beginning to kick in and it was obvious to both of the parents. The one thing they especially noticed was the way their son would affectionately call out to Changbin with the nickname he had been using for years and he would always respond with just as much affection and sometimes with a flutter of the eyelash in a flirty manner.

“I think he would like that. We can make this a family trip but don't tell Yongbok I said it's family,” San whispered with a smile as he moved to gently bite Wooyoung’s hair. “He’ll want to die if he finds out I consider Binnie our family in other ways.”

Wooyoung chuckled and nodded in agreement, excited that they had now found a plan for the following week. They kept it a surprise, wanting to start off the day calmly before they would launch into their plans right after breakfast and with the help of Changbin’s parents, Seonghwa and Hongjoong, they set up the plans so that Yongbok would be surprised immensely and sure enough, he was when the time came.

As soon as the first light of the fifteenth of September arised, Yongbok was shaken awake by Wooyoung, an early start for their day ahead.

“Happy birthday Yongbok-ie~” Wooyoung sang, rubbing his nose against his son's hair. “Come on sweetie, we’re having fun today!”

Yongbok shifted in bed, tiredly getting up as he lifted his arms to San who stood slightly behind Wooyoung with a smile.

“Happy birthday, Bok-ie,” San said, wrapping his arms around his son.

“Thank you! Carry me now.”

San laughed loudly, carrying his slightly smaller son who wrapped himself comfortably against his Father. His face brightened with every step they took, his senses brightening once they got out of the bathroom where they washed themselves up all together as a happy little family filled with giggles. The moment they stepped into the kitchen, Yongbok’s face showed surprise, warming his parents' heart at the happy reaction.

“Oh my! Thank you! I love raspberry pancakes!”

“We know, we know,” Wooyoung laughed, ruffling his son's hair as they all began eating, him and San hardly containing themselves as they waited to tell their son about their later plans.

San and Wooyoung had both made sure that they got off on that day, deciding their son was much more important than stupid meetings that only made them mad half the time and decreased their lifespan with every document signed. The stress of both being CEOs ate away at them but they worked hard to provide a more than perfect life for themselves and their son who simply basked in what his parents gave him but also made sure he worked or else he wouldn't receive anything, which was a bummer on his part.

San was the proudest of them all, Yongbok being his biological son was probably the reason for that and even though Wooyoung loved the boy the same, it didn't change the fact that San had a much deeper connection with Yongbok.

“You guys haven't sat around and had breakfast with me in a long time,” Yongbok sighed with a small smile. “I'm glad you did today and I hope you both have a good day at work. I'll ask Binnie if he wants to hang out with me.”

“Oh sweetie, I'm sorry that we hardly spend time with you but asking Binnie won't be necessary,” Wooyoung stated with a growing smile. “We’re not working today and Binnie has been invited over for plans since last week.”

Yongbok’s eyes suddenly sparkled like never before, beginning to shake in excitement in his seat as he realized what his parents were doing for him.

“You're both skipping work?! For me?! And Binnie will be here?! This is the best birthday already!” Yongbok exclaimed in joy, jumping up as he launched himself over the table to wrap both parents in a hug. “I'm gonna go get dressed for today, I'll be back in a jiffy!”

Without another word, Yongbok dashed away, leaving San and Wooyoung smiling in his wake.

“I'm so glad he's excited already,” San said with a smile, wrapping an arm around Wooyoung’s shoulder. “I bet he’ll be over the moon when he finds out what we’re doing later.”

Wooyoung nodded in agreement, deciding to go wait on the stairs that led upstairs as he stared into the fish tank that Yongbok insisted they have when he was small. It always amazed Wooyoung at the fact that instead of being a normal person and getting a fish tank, San really hired people to install a fish tank that went from the floor to the ceiling of the second floor.

He thought it was mad that San hated fish but got the tank because it was either, ‘go big or go home’ according to his husband.

“I'M READY! WILL WE HAVE A PARTY?!” Yongbok asked as he rushed out of his room in comfortable yet pretty clothing.

“That depends on what you consider a party,” San replied, grabbing a set of keys as he opened the front door, the earliness of the morning being obvious as the outside world still remained a bit dark. “We’ll get Binnie first and then we’ll go to the place we planned to spend our time at.”

And so, the three got into the vehicle, Yongbok having the honour of playing the music he wanted as they all sang along in glee. Changbin wasn't fully awake when he got in the vehicle, his appearance obvious that he had been dragged out of bed by his parents and had gotten dressed in a sleeping state.

“Morning. I hope we have lunch because I hardly ate an entire apple before my parents told me to get out the house because you were somehow there already,” Changbin greeted, resting against Yongbok as he dozed off, the parents smiling in the front seat.

Wooyoung glanced at all three of the males in the vehicle, feeling as if he grew ten years younger and he smiled, he loved the way their life had gone and he wanted it to remain beautiful as always. Becoming an assistant many years back really served him well and that was what gave him what he had today.

“Sweeties, I'll tell you where we’re going,” Wooyoung spoke once they nearly arrived at their destination. Yongbok instantly brightened up and Changbin made a nearly incomprehensible mumble although he knew where they were headed but remained silent. “We're going skydiving.”

Yongbok screamed in glee, bouncing up and down with claps as San and Wooyoung simply laughed at the reaction and at Changbin who groaned at the sudden movement.

“Oh I'm so happy! This is definitely the best birthday EVER!”

And so when Yongbok nearly fell off the plane unprepared, and Changbin just barely got his parachute to work in time, and San just about fainted from the sudden realization of what he was about to do, Wooyoung still thought their life was beautiful even with the little flaws. They had come a long way from when San and Wooyoung just met and by the looks of it, there was still a lot more to go.
