"Come on Collette, you seriously need to get over yourself and stop acting as if you're the only victim in this situation." Valerie stood by Collette's bedroom door, watching as Collette wasn't even phased by her comment, just continuing to edit her most recent YouTube video.

"I'm not acting as if I'm victim." Was all the girl replied with, not bothering to look back at her best friend.

Valerie let out a groan, rolling her eyes. "I get it. You're hurt, but that doesn't mean run away and act as if you weren't just spending time with people three almost four months ago."

"I'm not running away." Collette shrugged.

The other girl angrily sighed. All she was doing was getting short replies from the red head, she wasn't even listening to the brunette at all.

Valerie shut the bedroom door behind her and walked over to Collette, shutting her laptop.

"Listen to me! This-" She gestured to how Collette was acting. "Isn't you. You don't ignore people. You don't run away from your problems and you most certainly don't act like a total ass when someone's trying to comfort you. I get it, you're hurt. But we all are!"

Collette just stared at the brunette in front of her, trying her hardest to not show how she truly felt.

"Just because I changed after the whole Wyatt/Jack situation doesn't mean I'm not myself." She finally replied.

"Are you kidding me? Collette, you deleted every app off of your phone that had to do with any type of social media, except for YouTube! You only get on Twitter from the internet to tweet about your new video, and you get right back off right after! You removed yourself from the group chat, no matter how many times we tried adding you back. You don't text anyone back except for Finn, either." Valerie named off the different things the other girl had done.

"What changed in you so bad that you can't even talk to your best friend?" Valerie asked, her voice breaking at the end.

"I do talk to you." Was all Collette replied with, although she knew that the other girl was right.

"Why didn't you tell me what Harvey did to you? Or- or how about Finn? I tell you everything, Collette. EVERYTHING. I don't miss out a single detail. We used to hangout every weekend, and go to and from school together. Now you do your best to go last minute and leave as early as possible. You never invite me to any of your competitions anymore and I just- I hate feeling as if I'm not good enough for you anymore." By now, Valerie had let any tears she was holding in fall.

Collette's face fell, as she realized that she was treating her own best friend horrible. She stood up from her seat, walking over to the other girl and embracing her in a giant hug.

"I didn't realize how truly hurt you were by this, I'm really sorry." Collette apologized, letting her best friend cry into her shoulder.

"I didn't tell you about Harvey because he hurt me, really bad. That's when I kind of set myself apart from everyone." She added.

"Why Finn?" Valerie asked, pulling away from Collette as they sat at the edge of her bed.

"I don't know. I stopped talking to him too, but when Harvey and I broke up my heart just told me Finn would be there. You were spending a lot of your time with Soph, I've never been close with Jaeden, Chosen, or Jeremy. Wyatt's been mad at me and I've been mad at Jack." Collette admitted. "Finn was there when Wyatt was mad at me, when I first met Harvey and when Jack did what he did. He was always there."

"We were all there for you, Col. We still are. You come up in the group chat every single day." Valerie replied.

"I know you guys are, it was just easier for me to go to Finn at the time because I didn't want to bother you. I'd already bothered you so much with my issues with Jack and Wyatt, and I was tired of running to everyone for my problems, so I stuck to Finn." Collette shrugged.

"And that's when you fell for him?" Valerie asked, and Collette's eyes widened.

"Wh-"

"Don't worry. I didn't tell anyone. I went to talk to Finn and he let it slip out that you two were an item. Wouldn't have been hard to guess, though. I think it's cute. You both are happy. I won't tell anyone if you don't want to. But it will get out to Jack and the others someday, and you know that'll cause the two to fight, don't you?" Valerie asked.

"That's why I didn't want to tell anyone." Collette whispered. "I've already hurt Wyatt enough, I don't even know why he was hurt in the first place. And Jack hurt me but I wouldn't want to do the same to him."

"It'll be hard, but I'll be there with you every step of the way. Look, I gotta go, I didn't ask to come over I just decided it's time for us to talk. I'm glad we did, I've missed you." Valerie stood up, wiping her eyes one last time.

"Again, I'm sorry, and I'll try to be myself again. It'll take time and I can't guarantee that it'll be the exact same but, I'll try." Collette stood up also offering a small smile to the other girl.

"Trying is better than nothing." Valerie gave her one last hug. "I'll see you at school tomorrow."

Collette offered to walk downstairs with Valerie, which the girl eagerly said yes. As Collette let Valerie out and began to shut the front door behind her, an unfamiliar car pulled up in front of the house and the familiar tall, curly headed boy stepped out, flowers in hand.

"Finn?" Collette asked, walking out of the house completely.

"I see you and Val made up." Finn smiled as he looked over at Valerie, who'd stopped walking and took notice of the boy.

"Aren't you supposed to be in Canada?" Collette asked, ignoring Finn's statement.

"He is." Valerie whispered. She knew she needed to get home, but this was a cute moment she couldn't let pass.

She whipped her phone out, snapping a bunch of photos of the couple as they hugged. It was a complete surprise, but Finn knew if he wanted to truly be there for his new girlfriend he'd have to see her in person.

So that's what he did.
