40: irl w/ some juicy stuff yk

"Collette, I swear to the mother of cheeseballs right now if you do not get your butt out of this van, I will personally come back in there and give you the biggest wedgie of all time." I heard Valerie threaten from outside of the van, but I just cuddled back into whoever was to the left of me and shrugged.

"Go right ahead, butthead."

"And on top of that, I will give you noogies for days, and a wet willie. Two of them, actually." She added, as if it would intimidate me.

"Have fun." I mumbled, not bothering to even flinch or open my eyes.

"Come on, Col! We're hungry you know!" Finn shouted, causing my eyebrows to slightly furrow but I just ignored him for a couple seconds before replying.

"And I'm tired you know."

"Jack, do something!" Finn whined, earning giggles and laughs from the others.

"I-I can't. I'm stuck in the corner." Jack replied, careful not to move as he spoke softly next to me. Oh, so it was Jack I fell asleep on, not Wyatt.

Oops.

"Nobody puts baby in a corner." Finn angrily mumbled, and I felt weight being put onto the van before I was suddenly being shaken awake. "Wake up! Wake up wake up wake up! We're at IHOP! Go in with us to get food right now!" Finn said in between shakes, and my eyes widened at the sudden change in movement.

"What the hell Wolfhard?!" I asked, pushing his arms off of me.

"First of all, you put baby in a corner, second of all, food. I've been talking about how hungry I've been for the past like three hours." He crossed his arms.

"First of all, Jack sitting there isn't my fault, I didn't put him there he chose to sat there, I just happened to fall asleep on him, thinking it was Wyatt. Second of all, we haven't even been awake for a total of three hours! We get that you're hungry but that doesn't mean shake me to death! If you do that you're going to be attending a funeral instead of an IHOP." I replied.

"And she doesn't mean hers." Wyatt commented from outside of the van.

"Now do me a favor and get the hell out of this van so we can get some food so you can shut the heck up?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

Finn just smirked, before leaning in and giving me a giant, slobbery kiss on the cheek. "Of course honey!" He practically jumped out of the van, where I followed at a normal pace and Jack got out behind me.

My mom locked the van up behind us and we all walked into IHOP, where we were seated and I was sat in between Jaeden and Sophia. I wanted to take turns while they were here, mingling with each of them and getting to know all of them better and not just hanging out with Wyatt and Jack, and also spending time and sitting with the others. I noticed on the way here I've mainly been sitting with Jack and Wyatt so it's time for me to sit by the others too.

Jack, however, was across from me, and I noticed he kept glancing at me every once in a while. It was honestly cute, and I couldn't get him off of my mind even if I was super tired.

"And what can I get you today, ma'am?" The waiter asked me, a giant smile on his face as he looked at me with a pad and pen in his hand. He looked to be about eighteen, his hair fluffed and a light blonde at the tips, his eyes a bright colored blue. He also had an accent, which was honestly really attractive.

"Oh um, I think I'll just have a strawberry lemonade, thank you." I mumbled, before passing my menu along the table and smiling lightly at him. He nodded, scribbling down my order before moving along to Jaeden, who was to the left of me.

After getting everyone's orders down he promised to have our drinks out to us as soon as he could, then left us to our own, where we talked among ourselves.

"He seemed interested in you," Sophia said, making small talk with me.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"The cute waiter boy. With the British accent. He's cute, I say go for it!" She said, a straight smile plastered on her face as her blue eyes dazzled with excitement.

"No, I don't think so." I replied, shaking my head lightly.

"Well why not?" She asked.

"He's... Not my type." I shrugged, looking down at the table.

"First of all, what is your type?" Jaeden asked, getting into the conversation.

"I don't know know, maybe I'm just not interested." I mumbled, messing with the silverware on the table.

"And why-" Jaeden was cut off by the slightly cute British waiter coming back, a tray full of drinks in his hands. He sat them down where they were ordered from, sending me a small smile when he sat my drink down in front of me.

"Thank you." I mumbled, being polite.

"Anytime. Are you guys ready to order?" He asked, pulling his notepad and pen out.

"I think so, you guys ready to order?" My mom asked, and after everyone agreed the boy nodded and went around the way he did with the drinks.

"Alright I'll get your food out to you as soon as possible and enjoy those drinks!" He smiled a big, cute smile, before sending a nod my way and walking away.

"He nodded your way, he's totally into you!" Sophia nudged me.

"Nodding my way doesn't mean he's into me, Soph." I replied, putting my straw into my strawberry lemonade and taking a sip.

"Actually, us boys do a lot of weird stuff to get girls' attention." Jack said, leaning forward onto his hand.

"He's right, anyways, as I was saying before cute waiter dude came up, I was going to ask why you wouldn't be interested in him." Jaeden said, raising both eyebrows.

"Well, I mean, I don't know. I know nothing about him," I said.

"Why don't you want to know anything about him? Are you already seeing someone or something?" Finn asked, from next to Jack.

"I- Finn-"

"No, I mean, she's not. She just said she wasn't interested." Jack cut me off, which hurt my feelings. More than I wanted it to.

Jack was starting to act weird, and it was starting to get to me. First he kisses me, which of course I'm okay with because I like him, but then when Finn catches us and I mention Wyatt not liking the idea, he starts being so secretive about it? I mean does he not want us to be together and out there or something? Is he ashamed? Because I don't think I could be with someone like that.

Clearing my throat, I just scooted my chair backwards and stood up, excusing myself for the bathroom. It took no time to find myself there and I locked myself in the stall, letting my thoughts gather themselves. I'm normally not one to kiss and tell, which was one reason I haven't told anyone about the kiss.

If I'm honest, I'm scared. What if Jack hurts me? After this whole Ellie thing, and getting hurt, what if something worse happens? I don't think I could handle that.

Maybe I should just get this waiter boy's number, and not even to flirt or anything. He does seem like a nice boy, he could be a good addition to my small group of friends. Because for sure when Wyatt and the others leave all I'll have is Valerie, and my heart will be broken when I have to watch them leave at the airport.

I'll definitely need the support then.

Sighing, I let out a couple of shaky breaths before opening the stall and washing my hands, making sure I looked pretty presentable and leaving the bathroom. As soon as I exited I bumped into someone, almost falling to the ground.

Luckily, whoever it was had caught me, stopping me from doing so. Looking up, I'd seen none other than the waiter boy himself. He quickly re-positioned me properly on the ground, and he smiled that pretty smile at me again.

"Sorry about that, I should've been watching where I was going." He nervously said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"No no, it's okay." I quickly said, sending a smile back. "I'm Collette, Col for short."

"Harvey Cantwell at your service!" He said, doing a bow. "I'd really, really love to stay and chat, but sadly I have to get back to work."

"Oh, let me give you my number then! Only if you want to, though." I mumbled, feeling my face heat up.

"Of course, just put it in your phone and text me, I can text you when my shift ends." He smiled, before telling me his number quickly. I said a quick goodbye before heading to the table, and sitting back in my seat where the others were laughing and joking around.

"I saw that interaction! What happened?" Sophia asked. "Like what'd he say?"

"I got his number." I mumbled. "Because if I'm single and not talking to anyone might as well hit him up, right Jack?"

also this is slightly unedited :)

and if updates get slightly slower its because i'm packing and moving at the moment and the process is slower than normal because it's not like urgent, i'm doing it in between school days and work days so it's just on my off days and i have like no time for anything rIP
