XXIX

"Where is that room?" I asked Cakey as we ran.

"I used it while I was..." Her voice trailed off.

"While you were what?"

Cakey let out a sigh. "While I was placing spy cameras. For Solangelo," she said, sounding very proud about it.

I was suddenly very thankful that Solangelo had Cakey as a fangirl.

"It's right here!" Cakey yelled, stopping. I had to skid a few inches before stopping. Cakey opened the door very slowly. It was taking forever.

"Just open the door already," I said, pushing it open.

"It was for dramatic effect!" Cakey complained.

Inside the room was a hallway. How did nobody ever find this? Where did it lead?

"C'mon," Cakey said quietly. "Let's go."

I walked into the room/hallway. I guess you'd call it a hallway room? Hallroom-way?

"Where are we going?" I asked. If this leaded to the garbage shoot, then I'm probably gonna shove Cakey down there and go beat the crap out of Holly again.

"It leads to the library," Cakey said. "But there are also more hidden rooms along the way. I think I know the one Nico might be in."

We continued to walk down the hallway. I swear, it was a billion feet long. And dark. It was a billion feet long and dark. My least favorite qualities in a hallway.

"I can't believe Holly," Cakey said a few minutes later. "If she wants love, then she has to work for it!"

"She's yandere or something," I muttered, shaking my head.

We then continued walk on in silence.

"Here," Cakey said, feeling for something on the wall. I started to worry for her mental health.

"Um.. Cakey," I started said, but suddenly a piece of the wall swung open and revealed a new hallway.

"Yes?" Cakey asked with an 'innocent' smirk on her face.

"Uh... let's go!" I said, trying to make up for my questioning of her.

"FOR SOLANGELO!" Cakdy yelled as she ran down the hallway.

"FOR NICO!" I yelled. Because I wasn't going admit to Cakey that I actually liked the name 'Solangelo.'

I mean... what?

Once we got near the end of the hallway, we stopped at some kind of padlocked room.

"Stand back," Cakey said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because if you don't know a lock's password," she said, reaching into her back pocket.

I really started to question her sanity then. Her back pocket was pretty empty by the looks of it.

"Then shoot it." Cakey pulled out the smallest, flattest gun I had ever seen.

"Pow pow!" Cakey said as she shot the lock off the door.

There was two squeals from inside. Two? But shouldn't the only person in there be Nico?

I bashed down the door, forgetting that the lock was already off.

The room was pitch black. I could barely see my hand right in front of my face.

"Nico?" I yelled.

"Wi-" a voice said, followed by some muffling. Then there was a quiet "smk."

"Sssh," another voice said. Sounded like Holly. "If you don't talk, they can't find us. And you wouldn't want them to find us." Then there was something that sounded like shuffling feet.

"You can't have him!" Cakey yelled, pulling something out of a her pocket. How much could she fit in those pockets? Suddenly, a beam of light was shinning around the room.

And found a tiny teenager curled up in a corner. With a girl trying to take off his shirt.
