HAEUN
"Because you don't understand!" I jabbed a finger into his chest. "I opened up to you about everything! I told you I'm scared of being abandoned all of a sudden!"
"Nobody abandoned you, Haeun!" He raised his voice slightly. "You're slightly overreacting here."
"You did." I said, my voice softer, and breaking slightly. "I never told anyone anything I told you. You know why? Because I knew in my heart that you'd never do that to me. So now you tell me, wouldn't you 'overreact' too, if the person who meant a lot to you did something that hurt you a lot?"
He sighed, calming down a little, "Haeun, I had my reasons, alright? I didn't do that to hurt you."
I looked away.
"Say something, please." He touched my cheek.
I shook my head, "I don't have anything to say."
I started to walk away but he grabbed my wrist.
"Do you like him?" He glanced at the guy I was sitting with.
"No!" I said, frowning.
"Then don't go...yet." He sighed.
I massaged my temple, letting out a deep breath, "Jaemin."
He pulled me towards him and wrapped his arms around my waist, and hugged me tightly. He buried his face into my shoulder and kept me close.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
He didn't say anything.
"Let me go." I said, pushing him away gently.
He stared at me with tired eyes, "Will you please forgive me?"
"Jaemin, you don't understand." I groaned.
"Then, make me understand!" He said, a little loudly.
"I can't be in here with you for even a minute longer." I said, annoyed. "Why don't you understand that if I spend another minute with you, I'll fall in love with you."
He paused, "What?"
"Forget it." I sighed.
"No, no, Haeun." He reached out. "I won't forget it."
I looked up at him.
"I'm falling for you too." He chuckled softly. "Fuck it, I've fallen for you. Hard. And I don't know how to get up."
I didn't know how to react. "Eh?"
He chuckled again, before pulling me in for another hug. This time, I hugged him back, not knowing what else to do.
"Now what?" I asked, still trying to process what was happening.
"Nothing." He said, and I felt my heart stop beating.
"What?" I pulled away.
"What?" He asked.
"We just act like this is nothing special?" I scoffed.
"What else did you wanna do?" He frowned.
"I don't know, Jaemin. What do people do when they find out they have feelings for each other?" I asked.
Realisation dawned on his face. He closed his eyes for a moment before opening it again.
"You wanna date?" He asked.
"You don't?" I looked up at him. "You don't."
"Haeun, I..." He cupped my face, squishing my cheeks gently.
"It's fine, I get it." I pushed his hand away gently. "Your career is more important. Plus, it's only been a few months since we've met."
"That's not the point, Haeun." He said. "My career doesn't come before you."
