CHAPTER ONE . . .
WELCOME BACK, HAYLEY!

" Why the fuck am I here right now? "

The shout echoes throughout the woods and Hayley almost cringes at the sound of her own voice as she runs over the decisions she had made that brought her back here. She was stupid to let Emily convince her to come back here as a tribute to Hannah and Beth after they all received that video from Josh inviting them back for a weekend. She was stupid to let Josh Washington still have her phone number after their break up almost a year ago and she was very stupid to open that video from Josh in the first place. Why did she do this to herself?

" Fuck! " Hayley shouts once more, thankful that she didn't see or hear anybody around her, as she approaches the gate and sees the piece of paper laying on top of where the lock secured the gate shut. She picks up the note and just wants to start shouting again as she reads the note from Chris.

GATE'S BUSTED,
CLIMB OVER!

Hayley refrains from cursing up a storm once more and slowly climbs over the gate, climbing had never been her strong suit and it was very obvious to anybody that may approach her at this very moment. She lands with a soft thud, surprisingly still on both feet, and continues her trek to Washington Lodge.

  " Hayley. . . " A distorted voice suddenly whispers her name, Hayley pauses and turns around slowly doing a full circle while trying to figure out who called her name. The wind suddenly picks up and she hears what almost sounds like a growl, that was when Hayley decided it would be a good time to make this walk go very quickly.

" Hell no. " Hayley shakes her head, deciding to not even wait and see what was about to happen to her and make her way to the cable car station as quick as possible, " I'm not letting a damn deer kill me. "

After a few minutes, Hayley suddenly trips over a wooden object on a ground making the girl let out a gasp in shock, thankfully catching herself before she landed face down into the snow. She turns around and kneels down to the ground, picking up the object and turning it around to realize it was a Native American totem.

DANGER TOTEM FOUND BY HAYLEY
LOCATION: PATH TO THE CABLE
CAR STATION

" Hayley. . . " The distorted voice suddenly whispers, sounding almost like the exact same one from earlier that night, " You better run. . . "

" Fuck no! " Hayley almost laughs in disbelief as she walks down the steps of the lodge, " Chris, Josh, whoever the fuck you are, you are not funny! "

She steps off the last step and turns, suddenly being face to face with a man in a white mask with blood on his overalls making her let out a gasp.

" Run. "

Hayley continues her walk towards the Cable Car station, adjusting her beanie and huffing at the fact of how long the walk felt by herself. It had felt so much quicker with all of the Washington siblings surrounding her last year. She finally sees the Cable Car station in the distance and spots Emily and Matt being let into the station by Chris making her sigh in relief, she wasn't going to have to do the ride up alone.

Hayley runs a gloved hand over her face and whispers to herself, " I can do this. Beth would not want me being pitiful over all of this. "

She was going to be okay, Hayley would be sure of it.
