What can be possible

Rachel sat down on the bed and sighed as she dried her hair. What's the problem you ask? It hasn't been that long since she'd gotten married to her husband, Emperor Zi Xchuang Lee. She became Rachel Lee.

It was a dream come true for her when he picked her out of all the people to marry. She knew it was only because of his family's insistence on making an heir. She held her stomach bump and stroked it. She had been in love with him way before this. His caring attitude, strategic mind, and his handsome face and body was what sold it for her. However she had been uncertain lately as to if he loved her back. Childish, right?

Rachel wiped her tears and put herself to sleep fitfully. She found herself having the same dream again. She was a different person. Auburn hair and freckles with golden eyes. A girl younger than her in a distant era before this. Medieval maybe, from the looks of it.

She'd meet up every time with what Rachel presumed to be her lover, who was as young as her, under a tree with a swing. The two had engraved their initials on the tree so their names and love would withstand time and space. Rachel could see they were very much in love. The care that they had for each other made her heart ache because she wished her husband and her were like that.

The girl, Hanna, happened to be well versed in medicines and herbs and she often used it to cure others along with her love Ean. Especially Ean because he was a knight.

Rachel's dream ended differently than usual. This time she caught a glimpse of the birthmark on her past life's lover. It was so uniquely beautiful that it engraved itself in her mind even as she woke up. She woke up and turned to see her husband beside her still asleep. He came home late like usual. Being Emperor was truly tough. She felt sorry for him. She stroked his hair and pecked his cheek. His hand grasped hers instinctively and she flinched when he opened his eyes. They stared at her coldly.

This wasn't the first time she'd seen his eyes.Yet it still took her breath away. It was a pretty and warm blue. Her heart raced and her stomach fluttered with butterflies. She didn't know she was this deep in love with him. Everyday the little things he did surprised her and would make her fall in love with him even more.

He only stared and didn't say anything before he let go of her hand. Just as he did she caught a glimpse of his birthmark and gasped. How had she never seen this before?!

She stroked it gently when Zi flinched and realized with a startle that it was the exact same birthmark as her past life's lover. But did Zi know that? Of their history even before they'd actually met? Rachel thought she'd try an idea. "Ean" she whispered as Zi got off the bed. He froze for a moment before he turned toward her.

For the first time since they got married he spoke. "Say that again," Rachel smiled nervously. "I said Ean"

"Seeing your reaction you must recognize the name" "You wouldn't happen to dream about your past life with a lover named Hanna, would you?" He was silent again before answering. "Are you sure?" Rachel smiled this time and replied. "Yes!" She laughed and her laugh made him smile. It sounded like lovely bells to him. "You're not mad?" she asked, softly.

Zi shook his head, still looking at her. Her hand hesitantly found his and held it. "I'm glad I'm a father" "I'm so sorry for ignoring you" he said, guilty. Rachel shook her head and said it was really fine. Zi continued. "I love you both and I'll take care of us. The people are important, but so are you!"

Rachel nodded, but interrupted Zi to take it easy. Zi's smile was huge and he started laughing. Rachel was confused, but happy nonetheless.

Zi spoke softly, "I'm glad you care," he said. He laughed again and Rachel found herself laughing hard as well. She wheezed as she leaned on him for support. Zi pecked her cheek and gazed at her round belly with awe. He hesitantly brought his hand down and rubbed it gently. Rachel thought of something for a moment then nodded.

She reached out and stroked his hair, but before she could continue he took her hand and placed it on his cheek then closed his eyes. He had such a firm body. The thought of it made Rachel want to giggle like a little maiden.

"I never would've thought we were lovers in our past life," he said, smirking a little. Rachel agreed, a blush dusted on her cheek. Right at the perfect moment a beautiful ray of sunlight shone on the two. Zi rubbed Rachel's hands to warm them up and the two cuddled. Rachel spoke after a solid comfortable moment of silence. "Thank you darling"

Zi looked at her and said, "You're welcome!" Rachel nodded in understanding for what must have been the fifth time. Rachel's stomach moved slightly and the two got excited. Rachel and Zi murmured sweet things to the baby in her. The two slept off.

The next day after breakfast. They had themselves painted to forever remember the day before.

Had it not been for their past lives, they wouldn't have gotten to be close. And the ice cold barrier between the two wouldn't have been broken.
