Chapter 5
Wang Jingyu's POV:
*TAP TAP TAP* "Excuse me? Can everybody here me?" A loud voice boomed across the whole auditorium, Zhang Jian sat beside me in the bleachers, close to the front as some of my 'better' friends had saved us seats, though mainly since they wanted to impress Jian jian and maybe get him to give them his attention, wait did I just call Zhang Jian, Jian jian???? but I only did that when I was younger, I should stop calling him that when thinking, who knows maybe I accidentally say it out loud in front of many people... I sighed to myself, not realizing that Zhang Jian had been watching me the entire time,
"Hey,"
"Hmm?" I turned my head to my left where Zhang Jian sat, "what is it?"
"Are you okay? You don't seem to be as excited as earlier."
"Oh um," I rubbed my arm, a nervous habit I have, "erm, well ya" my face brightened a bit, though the pain of not getting enough sleep and trying to stay strong before needing to head to the dorms, as my current sleep arrangement was with Xuefeng and Liming, which was not very suitable as the events that had happened earlier today.
"Are you sure? Is it because of your 'other' friends?", the friends that saved seats for us looked over,
What happened Yuyu?" Ye Fen asked.
"Um, well I had some conflicts with Xuefeng and Liming..."
"Oh, alright! Just don't do whatever they told you not to do"
"Erm, well it's something they asked me to do..."
"Well, shouldn't you do it then? I don't see why you're not listening to them like you always do" the girls behind Ye Fen started to giggle, I felt my head drop and look towards the ground.
"I don't see why your all teasing her" Zhang Jian spoke, making all the girls, including Ye Fen look at him.
"And I don't see why your hanging out with her. Without Xuefeng and Liming, she's nothing. Even if her grades are good, she's not even that popular. A guy with such handsome looks like you shouldn't be hanging around with a total brat like her, your just wasting your time."
"Like I care, she's my friend."
"Ooooo, 'she's my friend', I bet that's not even true and you're just saying these things to scare us, heehee" the girls behind Ye Fen giggled once more.
Just as Zhang Jian was about to say something in response to the mockery coming from the other girls, the loudspeaker sounded once more, the entire auditorium became silent once again, and I knew that I had lost another 'friend' who I thought I could trust, but instead found out that I had been used from the very start.
--------------------------
After the dramatic events that had happened in the auditorium, everyone headed out towards their dorms to set up everything for the year, well at least set up the things they had brought, as many people would come over the weekend to finish decorating the dorms and hallways between them. While Xuefeng, Liming and Ye Fen went to hang out in the dorm I was supposed to be in with Xuefeng and Liming, however I decided to head over to the lobby front desk to get my dorm changed due to the current events.
"Hello, is there anything you need?" I looked straight into the front desk lady's face,
"I need my dorm changed" I said with a straight face and stern voice
"How come? Is there something wrong with the current arrangement?"
"The people I'm currently sharing a dorm with don't make me feel very comfortable"
"Hmmm, alright, we'll find someone new, though do you know who could take your spot?"
"I feel like Ye Fen would be a good choice"
"Alright, I'll notify Ye Fen about the small changes we're making," the lady said while typing away on her desktop, "though do you have any preferences for who to be in a dorm with next? You can choose two people, though I do know that Li Yan currently doesn't have any roommates so you could choose another person to dorm with her,"
Li Yan?! She was one of my first friends! Though we split apart due to not being in the same middle school, I still couldn't believe that from my 3 years in high school, I never knew we were in the same high school! Maybe I should invite Yi-An to dorm with me as well, that way the two of us could reconnect with Li Yan and rekindle our friendship from the past!
"I could dorm with Li Yan, though could I call one of my friends to see if she wants to dorm with me as well?"
"Of course! Take your time deary"
I walked to the side of the lobby, and put my headphones on, took out my phone then called Yi-An,
"Heey bestie!"
"Oh, what's up Yuyu! Why did you call me?"
"Sooooo, currently my roommates are Xuefeng and Liming, and they're, how do I say this, not the right type of people I should be with anymore, anyways... would you like to share a dorm with me? I'm changing dorms currently and well, we could dorm with Li Yan... soooo are you up for it?"
"Wait, we're going to dorm with Li Yan?"
"Ya? Why?"
"Well, me and her hang out a lot so I have her contact, but ya, I would LOVE to dorm with both you and Li Yan," Yi-An says in a quiet voice, forcing me to strain my ears, "my current roommates, are the type of people I say are, well, annoying to say the least"
"Oh, well, then I guess it's a good thing I called you huh?" I nervously chuckled, wondering how annoying one could be for Yi-An, my extroverted introvert friend to be quiet when speaking to me, and to make her want to change her dorm, as her past roommates were all people who treated everyone with respect, the type of people she liked to hang out with. "Also, I should just tell the front desk lady to add your right?"
"Yup! This way I'll be free from my annoying roommates and able to dorm with my friends!"
"Kay, I'll tell her then, bye!"
"Byeeee bestie!"
I hung up on the call, and sighed, wondering how much one could change over the summer, though we lived in the same neighborhood, my family this summer went over to Beijing to explore the city, though we've been there many times, and visit friends and family, when my mom had visited the Zhang's I had gone with my cousins to explore the theme park that had just opened, which is another reason why I hadn't seen Zhang Jian, or why he didn't recognize me on the bus.
I walked up towards the front desk, and ringed the bell on the wall, the front desk lady jolted from her seat in the back and came towards the counter.
"Oh, hello, are you done making your call?"
"Yes ma'am,"
"Did the call go well? What did your friend say about changing dormitories?"
"The call went fine, my friend, Yi-An, said she doesn't mind changing dorms"
"Alright, now could you tell me her full name so I could change both your dorms to be with Li Yan?"
"Of course, my friends name is Zheng Yi-An,"
"Alright, thank you" The lady typed away after gaining the information she had needed, I tapped my foot on the ground, worried that my request wouldn't work or wouldn't go through, as this was the last step, the last step to my partial freedom in life.
"Alright,"
My head shot up, hoping for the best.
"Now that this is completed you can move your things to room 143 on the 17th floor of section C,"
"Alright, though I have to ask, is there an elevator?"
"Of course, the elevator is for everyone in that section, both boys and girls, now if you go to the boys' side, before you go on the stairs, you will see a short hallway towards the elevators, though the elevators only go to floors 5 and up,"
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome deary, have a nice day!"
"You too!"
I skipped out of the lobby, and into the hallway towards the dorms in section C, my backpack with my snacks bounced as I skipped along the mind boggling halls, and instead of towards the stairs to the first four floors, I swerved into the small hallway to the side that I had used only once in my time at Sunshine Institute, though that was for going to Li Yan's dorm to give her food when she was sick last year.
I clicked on the button to go up, waited for a while till I heard a "DING", then walked into the elevator,
"WAIT" a loud voice sounded as a young boy ran into the small hallway, I pressed the button to keep the door open,
"...thanks..." the boy said while gasping for air, most likely sprinted after hearing the elevator sound, I thought to myself,
"No problem," My face brightened as my face shaped into a small grin, "What's your name?" I commented curiously,
"Oh, my name's Zou Zhelan, what's yours?"
"I'm Wang Jingyu, nice to meet you!"
"Oh, it's nothing" he said, rubbing his hand across his neck, "You can call me Zhelan if you want, oh, um, what floor are you heading to?" Zhelan stuttered making me giggle a little, never knew younger students were shyer these days I thought while pressing floor 17,
"My rooms on floor 17, most older students have rooms on the higher floors, the maximum height for a 10th grader to be on is floor 5, and it increases to floor 10 when you're in 11th grade and floor 20 when you're in 12th grade,"
"Ah, that makes sense, my room is on the 5th floor and I'm in 10th grade..."
"DING"
The elevator sounded once more, reminding Zhelan and I that it had arrived at the 5th floor, Zhelan looked back towards me, and we said our partings, then he exited the elevator, leaving me behind waiting for the elevator to arrive at floor 17.
"DING"
I looked up, that's strange, it hasn't reached floor 17 yet, I got up from the spot I sat on the floor, and pressed the close button, the person who was about to come over and enter yelled in anger,
"WHAT THE FRICK, WHY DID THE LITERAL ELEVATOR CLOSE RIGHT BEFORE I WENT ON IT, THIS IT HATE ME OR SOMETHING"
My heart raced, the person who I had closed the door on was Ye Fen, she and her group of fans would claw my skin if they knew it was me who had closed the door, especially due to what had happened in the auditorium, causing me to change my dorm.
"DING"
I looked up at the LTD screen once again, finally, floor 17. I might be safe this time.
I walked out of the elevator with my backpack and lunchbox in my hands, smiling brightly walking down the halls towards my very new dorm.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Thank you so much for waiting for a rather long time for this update, recently I've been kinda having some Writer's Block, causing me to not be able to complete this chapter, though with support from my friends and almost finishing a book of Sunlit Smiles official art (art by me and my friends) I had enough motivation to write more than my expected word count, which according to me is a lot, as I normally wrote around 1500 - 1600 words for a regular chapter so far though this one was around 1700 words, almost to 1800. Once again I'm deeply sorry for not being able to upload earlier.
----------------------------
Yours truly,
Autumn~
