chapter 4

chris had set the entire date up and told brylee like casual but fancy. because he had a lot in store for this date. he made sure to call all the places, and just made sure everything was perfect.

as he planned, he realized that he needed a car. matt was the only option. but matt had made him promise that he wouldn't wreck his car.

and so, while brylee was out with nick, he got ready, with the help of matt. as soon as he was ready, he left, taking the keys from matt.

hours later, he came back to pick brylee up. it was the ripe time of 6, and the night was still young. he went to the store earlier and bought some flowers, lilies in particular. he heard somewhere that it was her favorite flower.

and so, he knocked on his own front door, and brylee was at the other side. she looked beautiful. she followed chris' instructions exactly, casual, but not too fancy.

he grabbed her by the hand and gave her the flowers in the process, "you look beautiful." he said, "thank you, don't look too bad yourself chris."

"what have you planned for the night?"

"you'll love it, i promise you that bry."

"i can't wait!" she giggled. chris was sure falling hard, and they haven't even had a first date yet. chris opened the passenger seat door for her, and then he ran to the drivers side.

"can you even drive chris?" she asked. "i'm matt for the night, i'm using his keys, and i guess i.d."

"can't even get your own license chris?"

"nah, not the right time." he slowly backed out of the driveway, and turning out of the neighborhood. he took a left towards the dirt roads. he made sure everything was going smoothly. the music was set, brylee had a blindfold on, as chris didn't want her to see anything.

as he pulled up to the place, or the forest more like, he stopped the car, and told brylee he'll be right back. he set something up, then everything lit up. everything looked perfect.

he went to the car door to help brylee out of the car, since she was blindfolded. he held one of her hands, and the other on the small of her back.

he brought her over and helped her sit down. she still had the blindfold on, so chris leaned across and untied it, making her look around.

it was in the woods, and she looked above and saw a canopy with led lights streaming around it. pillows and blankets were inside, and a picnic was laid out. lanterns were seated on the ground, fireflies lighting up the trees.

as she was seated she took in everything, and really admired how chris did it all. it was truly amazing, and she wondered how he made the first date a true masterpiece.

"what do you think?" chris asked, hiding his face.

"this is truly amazing chris, i'm like in love with everything. how did you do it?"

"i had this planned for awhile, and you were the first and only girl i wanna share this place with."

then silence was the best thing, she and chris stared into each other's eyes. his, the ocean blue, that always light up whenever he was excited, sparkled anytime around her, and overly mesmerizing.

hers, the sage with a fleck of amber in them. the ones when she was excited or nervous they would show the tiny part of amber. colors were blended and perfected together.

the picnic that chris had planned was amazing. food was good, and so was the feeding each other the strawberries.

after the food, chris said, "there's more, come with me. oh and the blindfold goes back on." he went around her and tied it, then he guided her.

"chris, where are we going?"

"you'll see ma." he whispered.

finally as soon as they got up at the top of the hill, city lights shining millions of miles down, the blindfold was finally taken off. chris had her face the city to see the lights. she was in awe, then, "chris, what's this part of the date?"

then before chris could answer, music started to softly play. it wasn't a specific song, it was just instrumental, but it was beautiful either way.

"chris, i don't know how to slow dance." she stated. "truth, is, i don't know either." chris stated.

chris placed a hand on the small of her back, and one holding her hand. she did the same thing but one hand on his shoulder, and the other one holding his hand.

and so they danced. she was twirled around, dipped down, and just the slow dancing as well.

soon enough, chris led her to another spot, this was a special spot, and she wasn't blindfolded this time. he led her to an opening in the trees and it opened up to a beautiful lake, with the sunset hovering above it.

"what do you think?" he asked her, as it was silence a few minutes before.

"i absolutely fucking love the sunset."

chris laughed.

"was that too much excitement?" she turned around to face him.

"no, no, i loved it, and i..." chris couldn't get the sentence out.

"thank you for taking me out on this very amazing first date." she smiled softly at him, and then looked back out at the sunset, seeing it in all its glory, blending together.

after a few moments of silence, chris spoke up. "the sunset is beautiful isn't it?" "yeah, it really is." she spoke softly.

"just like you." he whispered out.

"brylee, i-i love you." he said so softly, but she heard every word.

she took his hands, he interlocking them, and she said, "i love you too chris, always have and always will."

"can i have the honor of being your boyfriend?"

"only if i can be your girlfriend?"

he reached out his hand, cupping her face, and leaned in, kissing her, it was perfect.

chris had his whole world, right in his hands.
