Part 2

Sarang arrived at the stage and greeted the crew that had come to work for the show. She took her time and explained the procedures that they follow to ensure the safety of everyone. "And if you have any questions or you see something that needs to be addressed, feel free to talk to any of our senior staff members."

One of the crew raised his hand and said "What if they don't understand what we are trying to say?"

Sarang smiled "Don't worry, our staff is very understanding. If you are having trouble communicating the issue or question, just tell them to call me and I can help translate for you."

The following day, the crew arrived early and began preparations for the concert. Sarang and Joseph were on stage with the lighting specialist. "That should be the last one" he said as he finished making the adjustments. "Raise them up and let's have a look."

Joseph and Sarang ran to the ropes and hoisted the lighting. Sarang properly secured her batten, but Joseph just loosely tied his off. "Let's go" he said as he started to walk away.

"What are you doing?" Sarang asked, shocked by what she saw. "You need to properly tie that off. What if it falls?"

She turned to go and fix it, but he grabed her by the neck playfully and said "Don't worry about it! I've been working in this field a lot longer then you honey. Trust me."

Suddenly, Mr. Anderson's voice could be heard from the stage. "Gather up!" he shouted and everyone scrambled to the stage. Joseph let Sarang go and they filed in as well.

As they stood to listen to Mr. Anderson, a group of young Korean men walked out onto the stage and began looking around. Sarang kept glancing back at the rope that needed to be fixed. Something just felt wrong about it to her. She continued to listen to Mr. Anderson, but then she heard a creaking noise. She looked up and saw that the batten that Joseph had tied off was starting to fall. She ran towards the group of Koreans and started shouting "Move out of the way!"

They all turned and looked at her. By the time she got to where they were, most of them had moved except for a very young girly looking one. She pushed him out of the way, just as the batten fell on top of her.

One of the other members of the Korean group ran over and asked "Sungjong, Are you okay?"

"I'm fine Sunggyu Hyung, but what about her?" He gestured towards Sarang.

Joseph ran to the ropes and raised the batten once more, this time securing it properly. Then he ran over to Sarang to check on her.  Mr. Anderson had called 911 and approached Sarang to assess the situation. The dispatch operator advised them not to move her until the paramedics arrived.

Dongwoo approached the unconscious girl and asked "Is she going to be okay?"

Joseph looked up at him and screamed "Do I look like a doctor?"

"Calm down Joseph. They are just concerned about her" Mr. Anderson intervened. "Right now she is unconscious and we don't know how bad her injuries are. We will have to wait and see what the hospital says."

"Okay, thank you" he responded with a slight bow and then returned to his group.

The paramedics arrived and quickly got to work. "What happened?" one of them asked.

"The lighting batten fell and hit her" Mr. Anderson replied.

"Okay" he responded as he helped the other paramedic strap her onto the board. "We are going to take her to Angel Wings Hospital."

"Thank you" Mr. Anderson replied and then the paramedics took off.

Once the paramedics had left, the rest of the crew started to asses any damage to the stage and equipment. Sungjong and the rest of the members of Infinite looked on in shock. "What are they doing? Shouldn't they be going with her?" Sungjong asked appalled by the situation.

Dongwoo ran over to Joseph and grabbed him by the arm. "Isn't anyone going with her to the hospital?"

"We don't have time for that right now. Someone will go and check on her once we get everything under control" he replied and then he pulled his arm free from Dongwoo's grip.

Mr. Anderson approached Dongwoo from behind and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "Thank you for worrying about her. The paramedics said that they were taking her to Angel Wings Hospital. Why don't you go with your friends to check on her. We have to find out what happened before we can go."

Dongwoo bowed and said "Thank you sir" and then he ran over to the others and said "They took her to Angel Wings Hospital. He said we could go and check on her."

"What about them?" Sungjong asked.

"He said that they would check on her later. They have to find out why it fell first."

"What the hell! Let's go!" Sungjong was extremely upset. He couldn't believe that they couldn't care less about what happened to her.

The ambulance arrived at the Emergency Room and the Trauma team quickly got to work. They brought her to CAT Scan and checked to see if there was any injuries. Luckily, she only had a concussion, a laceration to her forehead and body contusions where the batten had hit her. She was still unconscious, but they knew she would wake up eventually. They stitched her forehead and monitored her until she woke up.

Sarang slowly opened her eyes and was blinded by the lights. She could hear the sound of a monitor beeping away. As she tried to sit up to take in her surroundings, she felt a sharp stabbing pain radiate throughout her entire body. "Ahh" she screamed in pain.

A nurse who had been near the room walked in and said "Take it easy. You had quite an accident."

"Where am I?" Sarang asked groggily.

"You are in the ER at Angel Wings Hospital. You've been unconscious for a couple of hours" the nurse replied.

Just as the nurse began taking her vital signs, the doctor walked in. "Hello, I'm Dr. Fay" he said with a huge grin on his face. "You had quite an accident. What do you remember?"

Sarang looked up at him and said "I was working on the stage when I heard a noise from the rafters. One of the battens had started to fall. I ran towards a group of people that were in danger and told them to move and that's all I can remember."

"That's very good" Dr. Fay said. "The paramedics gave us a similar story. Well it looks like there wasn't any memory loss, but you do have a concussion." He began to look over her chart "It appears, aside from that and the laceration on your forehead, you are perfectly fine."

"I don't feel perfectly fine" she moaned.

Dr. Fay gave out a small chuckle "Well you did have a batten fall on you. I would expect you to be sore for a few weeks." Sarang smiled. "I don't see any need to keep you here, but if you feel worse definitely come back. I would suggest taking some time off of work, but I don't see any reason you can't work if you really want to. Do you have any questions?"

Sarang looked at the doctor and smiled "Nope."

"The nurse will be in to discharge you in a few. Take care."

Sarang managed to sit up and gather herself by the time the nurse came in to discharge her. "You seem to be quite popular. Apparently there are some gentlemen waiting for you in the lobby." Sarang looked up in surprise. The nurse pulled out some papers from the chart and started to hand them to Sarang. "The doctor has prescribed this medication to help with the pain and these are your discharge instructions. You should follow up with your doctor in a couple of days to check on the laceration and again in about 10-14 days to have the stitches removed. Because you do have a concussion, if you start to feel worse or the symptoms don't get better, feel free to come back." She flipped though her papers and said "If you could sign here to acknowledge that we've gone over your discharge paperwork."

Sarang signed the forms and proceeded to leave the Emergency room. She was looking at her discharge instructions as she walked into the lobby, but dropped them as she was immediately hugged by someone.

"Thank goodness you are okay" Sungjong said as he hugged her tighter. "I was so worried about you."
