What inspired you to write 'The White Rose'?
This poem was written from a very dark place. It spawned from the thought that how a pure innocent soul can be trapped in a tomb of darkness once they're mistreated the way the girl was in the poem.
How do you deal with writer's block?
I generally do two things. Close the thing and watch videos or listen to music (Panic! At The Disco especially). Or write whatever garbage idea I have in mind just to continue the story. After a day or two, I go back to that and change it once my mind is at its best.
What advice do you have for other poets?
Try to include some cryptic message into your poems. This is an unusual advice but I have seen as a reader and a poet that people enjoy the metaphors you inculucate in poems. If it's not really your style that's fine, but just try to do it once.
Have you had any challenges so far, and how did you manage them?
Regarding poetry, creating the perfect rhyme that mixes in with the complexity you want to show really puts me in a tough spot. I spend hours listening to songs that I can get inspiration from or searching the thesaurus in order to achieve that goal.
State one memorable quote from your poem?
"Her heart was now a hard piece of obsidian, so tattered The last sound that came from the dreaded tomb, Was the glass vase that finally shattered." These lines hit me very differently. They were the first lines that I thought of when writing the poem, and they just seemed like a perfect end to the sad tale of this girl and the rose.
Would you like to be a published poet someday?
I am actually already a published poet on Amazon with my poetry collection- THE WINGS OF NIGHT.
Self-published or with an agency?
Self-published. While self-publishing has its benefits, I would love to have a publishing agency take a look at my book.
What do you like most about Wattpad?
I really love the comments under my work. It helps me grow and interact with my readers in a healthy way.
Have you been able to assist other authors?
I do review books and provide constructive criticism to various authors so I guess I am assisting them in some way.
In what areas do you feel that you need to improve?
I think that my vocabulary and grammar could be a little better. I am very much dependent on thesaurus and editing tools when I am writing something.
