How It Works + Rules

How It Works
Like many other Wattpad user-run awards, like we've done in the past, these awards are split up by genre. There is one judge per genre who will read and score your story based on the criteria in the Judging Criteria chapter of this book. After they've turned in their scores, we will announce the top three winners of each genre and post their reviews. Everyone else will be sent their reviews via PM after the results have been posted.
To enter—please read through the rules first—you will fill out the form in the chapter titled the genre you're entering. For example, if you're entering in fantasy, go to the "Fantasy Form" chapter. There is a little paragraph explaining each genre and the form for entering that genre.

Rules
Like all well-run awards, we do need rules, unfortunately, to help make things run as smoothly as possible. These are the contestant rules. If you want to be a judge, the judge rules are in the Judge Rules + Form chapter of this book.
- You can enter up to two books total and they must be in different genres.
- You can judge if you've entered as a contestant, but you can't judge the genre you've entered as a contestant.
- All works must adhere to Wattpad's guidelines.
- Your story must have five chapters. This means legitimate chapters, not author's notes or anything along those lines. Prologues do count as a chapter if they're over 1000 words. You can enter five one-shots in the Short Story genre, but it's really better if you enter a continuous, longer story because your score is based on character development and plot development.
- You must follow this account for the duration of these awards and add this book to your library to receive updates. If you decide to unfollow or remove this book from your library and miss out on crucial information, that's on you. You must follow from your main account, not a backup.
- Follow your judge(s) as well. Again, you have to follow them from your main account. They've worked hard to make your review. If you don't follow your judge within a week of the start of the judging period, you will be disqualified. You will also be disqualified if you unfollow at any time. It's not fair to them, honestly.
- If you were a winner (first, second, or third) of our previous awards, you can enter again with a different story.
- You can enter in a genre that isn't your story's primary genre, but it isn't recommended. Your judge can take off points for it, and, historically, stories entered in their secondary genre haven't done well. We really don't recommend it.
- You must inform us if you change your book title or username. If we can't find you or your book at any time, you will be disqualified. The password is your favorite flower. We experienced this issue a lot in our past awards, and it isn't fair to us because it wastes our time.
- Mature and LGBTQ+ stories are accepted in all genres.
- We will not tolerate any bribing or bullying whatsoever. This is supposed to be a fun, healthy competition. Have fun and relax! Who knows, you may meet some pretty cool people out of it and get some great feedback.
